I am amazed at some of the screeds here aimed at ASR. I'll take science and measurements over gross subjectivism any day. Craftsmanship also counts. Since somebody mentioned Biden and empty shelves there must be a correlation between the anti-science people who comment on the pandemic and audiophiles who disparage measurements. But in the end sensory perception is highly fallible and what is measurably most accurate may not sound best or to the taste of many listeners. Perfection is an abstraction. 

Tweak1, as the internet's #1 supporter of Ric's work, why don't you send me your modded amps to measure? I have a couple Icepower 1200AS2 modules I can measure size by side as a reference.

So you can backup all of your claims of better performance you've been touting for 2 years. For all we know the channels could have a 10-20dB spread of THD+N between them.

Has he tested any amp with -115 THD+N @ 100w output? After Amir repaired the amp it measured as good as the module manufacturer's claim. So not sure what more to expect.

When a GaN based amp measures and sounds better than what I already have, maybe I'll take some interest. But when we get to the level of amplification I'm currently using, the amp is no longer the weak link in the chain. The speakers, crossover and room acoustics are 100x more important. The only real area for improvement over what I currently have for an amplifier is decreasing the size. And that will only happen with advancements in power supply technology.

When an amp has poor measured performance that doesn't meet the standards set at that price point, who would want it regardless? I don't think anyone intelligent needs to drive a $100,000 sports car with an engine that dynos at 100hp to known it can't compete with similarly priced cars with 700hp.

You are missing the point: the guru's followers simply don't care if there is a channel spread, if the amp is a safety hazard, or if there is absolutely no scientific basis for any of these nutty tweaks. They don't care if science, logic and reason dictate human hearing is incapable of hearing any differences. Why? Because it isn't science, it's religion. And rather than use their own brain and sensory faculties, they have found a guru to make all of their audio insecurities better by telling them what sounds good, or better, or best. They no longer have to obsess and fidget, they can just rely on their guru. Cha-ching.

I have had more than a thousand happy customers throughout the years (been modding since the 70s...professionaly selling finished products and mods since 1989)........just responding to your put down.

And yes, I looked at that photo and most of the mods I did and that were verified by two people were done because of what I saw in that picture.

And they deleted my thread for talking about an Icepower module I don't even sell. I guess they're too cheap and Icepower doesn't advertise here. So it was a no go. 

I call BS on EAS tuning the board for worse measurements and better sound. All the EPC demo boards measure mediocre. EPC sells these parts based on the ability to build better preforming amps using them. But in the 6-7 years since they started working on these, conventional class D amp tech like the Purifi's surpassed them. If they could, this amp would measure much better.

I couldn’t agree more. The problem is that the thread is about a particular amplifier and those who either own it, heard it otherwise in a system in which they are familiar with or have worked on it are the ones who can provide first hand knowledge of any pros and cons and not the people who have no experience or are relying on websites which expouse no valuable information (to each their own and they call that hearsay in legal terms and heresay is never good coming from a bad source) on how the amplifer sounds with particular set-ups or vs. other things. That’s why I posted my impression in the thread about the Voyager and EVS1200 and whatever pertinent information I had with other amplifiers. There’s no issue if someone has first hand experience with the particular amplifier and thought it sucked, That’s why Baskin Robbins has many flavors.

Class D amplifiers have come a long way in the last few years. I presently own 3 of them and not that long ago sold a fourth as I had no place for it (converted one integrated AV system to just UHD video with a new receiver without preamp outs and moved the 2-channel preamp I had to another secondary system). With regard to the ultra (expensive and top notch) high end, Class D I don’t personally think is there yet but I’m happy and the dual mono stock IcePower vs. $100k monoblocks in another thread performed decently given the price difference.

From many of the people who behave in a certain way (and no one is telling them what they are allowed to believe or not believe and that’s why I indicated in any earlier post about ultracrepidarian people), Why even respond to a post with such a person as it is obvious they have no knowledge about a product and only rely on irrelevant information which comes from a source which is known all over for that type of information as I noted in an earlier post (below again). There is no point in responding to posts from a person without the necessary experience to comment on it whether the subject is about audio, automobiles, appliances, etc. So just let them post and keep posting comments about the subject of the thread. The moderators have the final say (and no one else does) about what is appropriate and what is not so just take advantage of the platform to exchange valuable information and ignore the information that is of no value.

I does not matter what you say to these guys......and this new addition....just above.....they will keep saying the same thing over and over again. What they want is attention and to fight . What there heart wants is love. However, their desire to "be right" dominates their postings.

Here is an intelligent way to deal with them......when they,....or a group of them (there are only about one half dozen of the worse) of these guys says something not true then one person should counter with the truth. No doubt that will set them off again but just let them rant. After that it is silence. You just let it go. If they have no one to fight with then they will go away.......or at least all their posts will be not replied to.....except for the +1s from their team mates.     no noise, miller carbon, phil, myself, tweak1, etc......just let one person reply with truth (without making them wrong or being that personal) then after that we do nothing. It takes two to tango.....it takes two to fight. If you point a finger at them they will throw a rock back.....and it goes on forever. Just love them. Let them have their say.......make sure one person counters with the truth.....and then we can all get back to the topic that wants to be discussed. I noticed that george had tons of posts ignored on one of the fuse threads.....way to go guys.....his posts were there but no one cared......very cool.....let’s do more of that....and we can stay in the love better that way.....keep the vibration high.....don’t fight.....don’t engage......just ignore....seek the truth....speak the truth....feel the beauty....feel the joy....right now.

So someone who actually understands amplifier technology, and has built amplifiers for 15 years is a threat to the community? I’ve built the best measuring and sounding amp in the world. But I don’t make amps for audiophiles. Only music lovers. So I have no skin in the game. This allows me to be honest. I don’t need to pretend that a $100 amp module is worthy of a $3000 amp. That makes me a threat.

please, do not respond. in fact, lets get to the space where we/I don’t even need to state this......should be just silence......a beautiful thing.......like their comments don’t exist.....just our happiness is real
