Is it time to upgrade my amp?

Have those speakers ever sounded 'less/not harsh' in that space?

Do you have tone control anywhere? Tried cutting treble some?

You might consider trying tone control first, even temporarily, and find it's the speakers in that space are simply too bright, not the amp at all.

Some new equipment has tone controls with bypass.

Anything, especially these days, having a return option after listening in your space is important.

If a new item has no return, perhaps consider used, i.e. eBay, with return option.

+1 russ69! Speakers are the most important part of a HiFi system!

I agree with millercarbon and bluemoondriver. The biggest and best change would be to get the Tekton DI's. Leave the amp upgrade for later! 

In another thread there is discussion of blind testing to see if fuses make a difference beyond placebo. Reading around you find the (in)famous challenge to identify any difference in blind listening between any amplifier of quality (about $400 seems enough). Apparently you can tell the difference in a very expensive amp which is designed to distort (like SET). But otherwise, it seems there is little if any gain in amp upgrades. The money is best spent on the air coupling (speakers) and room treatment. 

I also agree with others - upgrade the speakers before going with a new amp. Or, do both. You can find pretty good tube integrateds used for $1.5-2K and decent speakers in the same range in the $1-1.5K if you’re lucky. I saw a Tekton Perfect SET selling for $1200 a little while ago. I’d bet that would be great with the amps you list and you could find both under $3K together if you are patient. 

A tube good amp would improve your system but as MC says better loudspeakers would be a bigger change for the same bucks.  

Replace your speakers! At an abysmally low 86dB they limit you to high powered amps. Not that they will sound good with ANY amp! But your $3k will buy you some killer Double Impacts, far and away better speakers, and ones that can be beautifully driven with as little as 20 watts, something that sounds as sweet as the Raven Blackhawk. Which will never happen as long as you hamstring yourself with bookshelf speakers. Especially those bookshelf speakers. Seriously. Read the reviews. Replace yours with DIs, be amazed at how your whole system is transformed.

Room acoustics??

The Raven has a 45 day trial period. I agree with their philosophy. I've had amps from 35wpc to 350wpc. Without a doubt, the best sounding were the low wattage. One was 35, one 45 & now a 65. I  looked at the Blackhawk but I really didn't need a preamp since I have a very good one. But If I were looking at integrated tube amp I'd look at Raven & Don Sachs who recently came out with a 30 watt integrated. It is $4200 though (I think) I have his amp and it is very good. I also was considering the Cambridge streamer and found that the   Azur 851N  is worth the extra $$$. However I found the Teac NT505 at a great price which I couldn't refuse. Supposedly better than the Cambridge. I have not heard either.

Thanks Tom! I heard that the customer service at Rogue is superb! Another amp that now on my radar is the Raven Audio Nighthawk, have you had any experience with that amp?

Chris enjoyed my Rogue Cronus Mag had it with Vandersteens             2 Ce sigII  was able to demo I liked it more then the Sphins V3 don't 
know the Cary 
They are great bunch of guy at Rogue have been to the factory for upgrades
