I wonder what you would think if we scheduled a monthly Zoom Meeting?

I was thinking about what it might be like if our discussion group scheduled a monthly Zoom Meeting?  This would allow everyone to finally put a face to a name and it might really allow everyone to be more interactive.  This might also allow our discussion group to take things to the next level.  We might also want to develop some rules of engagement.

I would like to hear your responses.  We can then weigh in to see if this might be something we might do.

I have "radio face" -- a face made for radio.

Save me a front row seat -- as a spectator.

If I can clear it through my agent, attorneys and life coach I'll require advance notice in order to schedule hair, makeup, wardrobe and lighting.

Maybe even auto-tune - just for fun.

Seriously though, I've met a handful of old regulars here, in person, years ago and they were all princes among men (IMO).

Now, unfortunately, the site seems to be attracting princesses among men.

I think it is a good suggestion and likely to work.

1.  Less people would actually do it than you think.

2.  People have to be much more polite on a zoom meeting.  You don't troll. or flame others on a zoom meeting. The would eiminate a lot of members.

3.  If it didn't work, it wouldn't be hard to cancel.

It's a nice gesture but the practicalities are considerable.

For starters you have the problem of different time zones, and then there's those like me who aren't too fond of webcams, selfies etc.

I don't know, maybe.

I like the idea, especially if it was based on a recent particularly civil and productive discussion topic.

I imagine those able to converse in a civil and friendly manner would be game; angry keyboard warriors and anonymized stone throwers would not show up.

I’m game.

A'gon blocks our email address when we message another member. So I doubt they would sanction a zoom meeting

Way too many people to make it practical, and I'm sure that it would end in a shouting match. I hate zoom calls and avoid them as much as possible.
