Ebay and AudiogoN, listings and the economic crisis.
It is not AudiogoN, it is the Sellers listings. There are now what most would consider very mainstream, not high end at all listings. With the virus lockdown listings on both sites, ebay and AudiogoN have increased, and on ebay increased greatly. Economic hard times... sell off disposible things. A good time to buy a sports car or a Summer home, as those are being disposed of, simply expendables.
Inna is perfectly fine, just at times less reserved than usual. The virus is advancing, moving further and deeper. It enjoys being slightly suppressed, it strengthens its survival. Real vaccine might never be developed, it is a complex virus. Make your future plans considering various scenarios. And don't buy anything from New Zealand. They are too good at what matters.
Audiogon moderators don't deserve Inna's profane attacks. The rules here are pretty simple to follow; accepting them is really a prerequisite to posting.
Beyond that, there's just no reason to not treat others here with at least a modicum of respect, imo.
While I agree there are some “ fire sales” starting up for the most part I see boredom and spare time. over the last 3 weeks I have sold quite a few thousand dollars worth of surplus gear, most fairly quickly and nearly all at my asking price or very close.
With people confined to the house there is a lot of internet surfing and buying right now. People with money will buy no matter what.
Besides audio gear, one of my passions was sports cars. From driving at Road America and others to owning many sports car names you would recognize. When I was racing there was joke that said, "what's the difference between owning a Ferrari and dating a pretty woman" . ..."in the long run the Ferrari is cheaper and more reliable"
