They lost me on the A6. Terrible customer service.
You are throwing your money away with Eversolo. The worst support in the biz. It's vital for a streamer company to be on point with FW and support. Literally throw away devices. Best to buy from a company like Innuos, Aurender, Aurailic... someone who's only effort is spent on streaming. You are buying not just hardware, you are buying into a platform and if that OEM platform sucks, your streaming experience will suck as well.

I don’t have an opinion on Eversolo specifically but my sense is on par with others here about customer service and dedication to helping buyers of the company’s products. I think the reason Bluesound has had success is not that they have the best sounding streamers, it’s because they sell affordable streamers that sound good, have a good set of features, an easy user interface and OS and they have good customer service. I have a Node X with the Teddy Pardo power supply running into a PS Audio Directstream DAC. It’s great sound and an easy interface for music. |
It’s inexcusable to me that a company has no customer service, and streamers are something where you may well need it at some point. I have an iFi Zen Stream, and although it sounds good I have an issue I can’t resolve and their customer service is likewise abysmal. Never again. Do yourself a favor and go with Innuos or Aurender. |
Fine by me - I've got an A6 and am very happy with it; good value for money, and I'd look into their other products, too.. If I ever need support, I will email 'service@eversolo.com' or go to the form on their website at https://www.eversolo.com/Contact/afterservice.html |
I've had an A8 for probably a year. Very happy with it. Occasional software issues, but they seem to be corrected pretty quickly. Listen to it almost daily. I have not had to use their customer service. I was considering upgrading to a HiFi Rose and the salesmen at a reputable store told me to stay with what I have. Everyone want top quality equipment at rock bottom prices. That cost savings has to come out somewhere. |
For fun I tried a A6 ME using as a Roon end point. It sounds great and works well. Great value for the money, dual femto clocks, dual mono ESS chips, preamp, streamer, etc. I haven’t had one glitch yet. Compared to my pricier DACs it is not bad at all, it sounds great. For those who say service is bad, I’m curious, if you buy it from a reputable and/or local B&M dealer shouldn’t they help out with any problems? |
I own an A-6 Master Edition and an A-8 on two different systems... After owning streamers that cost 4X as much, as STREAMERS ONLY they are as good if not better sound, function, and definately better UI than the more expensive ones I tried. The DACs in both, imo, are not hifi, but feeding a McIntosh D150 or DA-2 they are sweet, not "just for the money." Like all this stuff, diminishing returns... Eversolo is evidently coming out with a dedicated streaming transport this fall, the T-8. I'll be buying one and if good, will replace both. But every DAC/Streamer combo I've tried, including big bucks, don't sound as good using their DACs as just using these as streamer only. |
Love my Eversolo A6 Master with TP power supply. I’ve had it for 1 1/2 years and never ever a single issue or hiccup. I do all of the updates and never miss a beat! LOVE the display screen, app, and I think it’s a really sharp, clean looking unit. I am running it to a DENAFRIPS Hermes DDC to a Pontus II 12th…using Qobuz. I see a lot of bad press here regarding Eversolo but I love it. Can’t speak to their customer service because I’ve never had to contact them. Very happy with my unit… |
They are a new company and learning. After the first products had been out awhile I recently tried the A-10 at the suggestion of local dealer - wow, an amazing product for the cost. Both my wife and I thought it was per dollar one of the best system improvements we have done. Yes - the bluesound Icon (especially using Marantz Ruby DAC) is good and they have the best app in my view, however the Eversolo is many steps beyond. |
Why are you asking? Are the reviews not credible enough? Are you too nervous to pull the trigger on a relatively inexpensive highly reviewed and credible product? Not sure what the handwringing and complaining from the others commenting here is about. The units get great reviews and are not prone to any problems so not sure of why the focus on "terrible support" is. I have two DMPa6 I use as pre amp DAC/Streamers into power amps. They're dead reliable, highly flexible and sonically neutral. Not sure how they'd ever need support either- and - unless you're talking Audio Research and the like customer service and support are a nightmare everywhere with companies just not responding ever. I'd pull the trigger and buy one and enjoy it, there are enough great reviews out there that ensure its a solid performer with a great interface. |
+1 for saugertiesbob - you nailed the response. I don't get ronmen's response, as I setup an A-6ME for a friend, and while I was using a Cambridge Audio Azue 851N before, after comparing the A6 with it, I went straight out and bought an A-8 - what a great sounding device. OP, don't think, just go buy one, and you will love it. I also tried the A8 direct into my Threshold S300 Stasis while I had the A8, and was quite surprised that it sounded almost as good as my Audio Research Reference 3! But not quite, so the ARC stayed. Thinking how good the A-8 was, I went for the lovely looking, and better sounding A-10, which gave a good uplift in performance over the A8 - ONCE it was fully run in. About that - the A6 took, maybe, a week before it started to 'sing', but the A8 took almost two weeks before it settled, while my A10 took well over one Month, so when/if you, or anyone, buys one of these, give it some time before critical listening. This may be why ronmen didn't like his A6, as they do sound,,, ho-hum when new - a touch flat/lifeless/bright. The A-10 is a wonderful piece of kit, and as some have said, the interface is absolutely superb, and from what I've seen, and used on other streamers, it's the best out there. One can 'cast' the display screen direct to your mobile phone/tablet, and do everything on it, that you can do directly on the unit itself. The only bugbear, or the only one I've found, is that the PC/laptop web interface is,,, a useless joke! The 192.168.0.xx 'file transfer' page only allows SINGLE file transfer! So, if you, like me, have thousands of folders you may want to transfer to the onboard 64GB storage, and ONLY the internal storage, then you'll be quite some time! Their excuse for that limitation was web transfer protocols, which, although there, it would not impact folder transfer providing the folder was <4GB (browser dependent - as some only allow 2.5GB). But don't bother with the web interface, as the unit is fully capable, even from your phone, of transfering/copying anything/everything from PC/NAS direct to the M.2 storage on the unit itself. I've only needed 'support' once, for a minor issue, and I got a reply and solution within hours, so I have zero issues with their support. There's been about three FW updates in the 3 Months I've had it, and each update goes without a hitch, so no complaints there either. All three units I've had performed faultlessly and sounded really good, and for what they provide, are bargains in their respective price categories. @gkelly - these ARE dedicated streamer/DACs, so I don't know what your point is? @lanx0003 - it's not helpful and it's inapropriate to make a comment like that, without explaining yourself. What experience?? |
So, you want me to elaborate on what exactly made my experience "poor"—otherwise, my comment might seem inappropriate to you (by the way, you had a typo). Fine, I understand—there’s been a lot of hype from both reviewers and end users like yourself. During the 30-day home audition, I made sure the unit was fully broken in before doing any meaningful side-by-side comparisons with my other streamers. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the sound quality. I recall one of the ports producing noticeably higher background noise, which suggested a potential quality control issue. Sonically, it didn't stand out compared to my iFi Zen and Wiim Pro+—and there was a hint of edginess in the highs that caused listening fatigue. The internal DAC is also inferior to Wiim Pro+. Keep in mind, this was a product priced at 2.5 times more than my existing gear, so I genuinely hoped it would elevate my listening experience. I don’t deny that part of my disappointment may have come from higher expectations—but the reality is, it simply didn’t meet them. I returned it, and as is often the case, once you’ve been burned, it’s hard to care about that brand again.

@daveteauk The A8 is a preamplifier/DAC/streamer. OP has a McIntosh preamp. A portion of the costs of the A8 is the preamplifier. So I was figuring for a $2000 dollar box, approximately $666 is spent on the preamplifier portion of the box. |
@lanx0003 I remember when I first started streaming, it wasn’t until I got a InnuOs that it made sense. All the hubbub that I hear about the love for low cost players seems to come from a position of not being willing to save their money. Nor do they seem to understand, the concept of everything is built to a price point. |
I just did another update on my Dad's A6. Happy to say the latest FW is dropouts free. Unfortunately it still doesn't recognize Mac USB DACs , it used to before 1.2.50. Hey, almost... two updates ago it recognized the device but no sound. Fortunately Coax is the work around, fingers crossed it remains stable. I'm with gkelly in that Eversolo prices are approaching Innuos and Aurender, so I can't recommend them given the excellent support of Aurender and Innuos. |
I enjoy my A8 for a year. No need for Customer service since no problems. They have updated software online at least 3 times for that time. Listen and enjoy it daily for at least 2hrs. Hooked directly to a Benchmark AHB2 and Focal Aria 948s. If someone has dipped into the DSP and set it too high that might be the reason to sound bright. But, then, the bright could be good or bad depending on someone's ears and taste. For the money it is the best. I can'st afford a $6K Aurender - oranges should be compared to oranges. |
I’ve had a lot of very expensive product and I’m enjoying the A10/F10 completely. It’s very well baked. It’s some of the best software I’ve used and just for the record. I’ve also owned hi-fi Rose products which are also reported to have terrible customer service. I’ve never had any software issues with them either nor did I need their support or service I did get some good information from online users groups, and the Eversolo has plenty of those It’s a really good product for the price. You just can’t beat it. Again you could spend more money and you could get a better sound by spending more money and you could also spend more money and not get a better sound, and as far as the interface goes at the price, it’s extremely good and very intuitive as well as user-friendly. |
I’ve had my A10 since May. There was a little trepidation if I’m totally honest, in buying an Eversolo product but I bought from a very reputable dealer here in the UK with excellent customer service should I need it. So far, the A10 is rock solid. My thought process for choosing the A10 was to reduce my box count. Due to health issues, I just wanted to simplify my system but compromise on SQ as little as possible. I use the A10 as a streamer/DAC; the only reason I don’t use the pre-amp (which is great btw) is I wanted to keep tubes in the system via my Heaven 11 Billie mkii as pre-amp. The other factor that piqued my interest were the sub outs, which I use with my REL Sub and cut the the bass from my mains at 65hz. I haven’t really tried the room correction software (need a mic) but without going into hyperbole, for me, my system is actually more enjoyable than it’s previous iteration. For reference, the rest of the system is an Atoll AM200 Signature power amp and ATC SCM40’s, electronics powered from a Puritan Audio PSM 156 In conclusion, yep I’ve been more than pleasantly surprised how good the A10 is, not just it’s flexible functionality, but it sounds great to these ears. So I guess I like Eversolo based on experience so far

I have an Eversolo A-10 in my system (ARC LS-28 and VT-80SE) and am very pleased with its build quality, sonics and overall capabilities. I've had no issues with it but there may be some folks who have trouble using all of its features due to relative complexity of its software. It's more like a computer than a last generation DAC. It integrates seamlessly with Roon using Small Green Computer Sonic Transporter I9 as a Roon core. I found the software overall excellent with updates every few months so no issues there. Since I have an IT background, I may be more comfortable with its extensive features than some folks. What sort of issues are folks running into that requires factory support that your dealer can't provide? |
I bought the A6 because with HDMI I can stream multichannel on my Meridian system. But then I found out only USING Roon. No one can answer why I can't stream multichannel directly from the apps in the eversolo, like Apple, Qobuz and others that offer Dolby encoded stuff. The Facebook group is for newbs. But I do appreciate it's multiple output features so I I can have it connected to various systems when needed. |
Just saw this Absolute Sound review of the A10 and it’s very positive and it really is an impressively feature-packed, high-value product. Of course in typical TAS fashion he fails to compare its sonic performance to anything else, which greatly diminishes the usefulness of the review IMO because that’s where the rubber meets the road. Anyway and regardless, on the surface it does seem overall to be an impressive package, just hope nothing goes wrong cause it ain’t Innuos or Aurender service here — kinda like walking on eggshells. https://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/eversolo-dmp-a10-music-streamer-and-dac-review/ |
Before I even bought a DAC , I did a lot of research with various company's and was very pleased with the technical response from Denefrips. Very helpful, even with my stupid questions and answered politely and to the point. The Pontus 15 is really well built and performs flawlessly with a warm sound output. Highly recommend this brand ! |
@gkelly - If you think a $2k streamer's cost is equally split into three components - pre-amp/dac/output stage (and you've conveniently forgotten two of the most expensive parts in any piece of audio equipment; the power supply and the chassis), then you are VERY nieve! |
@daveteauk great point! You have definitely won that argument. I guess I was getting a vibe from the OP that he was on a journey. I felt getting A8 would be a roadblock in the direction he wanted to go. |
