Cerious Technologies NEW Graphene Cables

Now, this is not a advertisement, just a posting sharing my experience on some well made great sounding cables at a very reasonable price. Besides, I don't think Cerious Technologies is set up for a big influx of cable orders.

But, if you get the chance to try these cables, please do.

I have been interested in the newer cables coming out that are using Graphene as a conductor. SR cables seemed interesting, but I always hated the way there cables had all those extra wires (with the active shields and such). I then noticed an ad early in I think November or December from Cerious Technologies for Graphene cables. I investigated how the cables were assembled and it seemed like quite a laborious process.

I ordered (with a 30 day money back guarantee) the balanced Graphene interconnects, and boy did they impress me. Such depth, soundstage, realism, frequency smoothness, effortless sound. I was truly impressed!  I now have a complete loom of the Cerious Technologies Graphene cables. That is; interconnects, speaker cables, digital cables and power cords.

I ended up selling all of my other cables and to those of you who have read my postings know that cables have always been my curiosity.

So, as I began this post, let me again iterate, I have no alliance to the company, my posting is for those of you looking for an great alternate high quality Graphene made cable without spending a fortune.

All the products you speak of are good. Based upon testing I've done with in my two systems I found that I preferred the CT Blue power cord over PS Audio AC-12 or the TWL.

Now to complicate matters:

After much testing, I prefer this power cord:

WWW.Audioarchon.com Mike Kay is the owner and the guy that makes the power cords. 847-687-4800 You would want the Blue power cord made with Furutech wire: FP-S022N Nano AuAg Bulk Power cable (14 gauge).

As a matter of fact if you can locate the parts you could make the power cord yourself. Your choice of any male plug and female IEC and Furutech Alpha Nano-Ag-Au Series FP SO22N wire 14 gauge.

One important tip is to make sure that Furutech's extremely effective signal transmission enhancer, Nano Liquid is used on the bare wire at both ends. Because of the extremely high price tag of the Nano Liquid, I chose to have Mike Kay build my power cords.

To hold cost down Mike uses a carbon plug and IEC that are rhodium plated copper all the way through input to output, instead of the typical less conductive bronze (probably made in China but looks and sounds good).

My guess is the Furutech selection of plugs and IEC might sound a bit better but that comes at a much higher price tag. I have no financial interest in the above power cord. Just trying to pass on a very good product.

As far as magnetic conduction is concerned it might be to your advantage to use a second pair of the Reveal interconnects and double up on that magnetic conduction. One never knows until they demo it!

@lak

What component are you using the Furutech cable on? And are you saying you prefer it over the Cerious Tech blue?

I think Chris at VH Audio sells this wire. I like to tinker every once in a while trying new stuff and if you can make it yourself it definitely can save some cash. I'm still a very satisfied user of Bob's cables and everything I've put one of his power cables on has had tremendous results. I'm thinking of asking him to make another yellow pc when Mark ships the DEEP CORE to mate with my 1800.
@ozzy  are all your components wired with GE red and blue ?

@lak there seems to be 3 types of Blue power cord - Blue Reference, Blue NCF and Blue. Which one were you referring to ? Are they good for DAC/Preamps or power amps ?
debjit_g,

Yes, all of my power cords are the Cerious Graphene. Even the power cable going into the CPT 1800.
ozzy

@t_ramey
Yes, I'm saying I prefer it over all the Cerious Technology power cords which by the way are very good also.
I've used the Blue Furutech on my 1800, Denali D2000T, Allnic T-1500 Integrated amp, Yamamoto Dac, Sonic Frontiers SFT-1 Transport and Plinius Reference SA amp.

@debjit_g
I use the Blue NCF 10 gauge (some what expensive power cord) on my Plinius Reference amp. All the other Blues {Blue power cord made with Furutech wire: FP-S022N Nano AuAg Bulk Power cable (14 gauge)} are made with the inexpensive Chinese carbon/rhodium ends.
Personally, I can't hear a difference between the NCF and the Chinese version, therefore, I would not again spend the extra money for the NCF.

@david_ten
I had used the Triode Wire Digital American Series and the Seven Plus. Both also very good power cords. I perfered the Furutech. I know some audiophiles that had the Furutech and perfered the Triode Wire.
Planning on trying Bobs PC at some point but if you haven't heard the Nanotec # 308 PC, be prepared to be amazed! This $150M PC replaced my $3K cords and in my system, the Furutech 55N and 22N wasn't even close and they had NCF plugs.

The Furutechs are warmer and the Nanotec are neutral and more dynamic with NO brightness and captures more low level details. I like them so much that I have a full loom of 308s and their older version the 306 which has the same sound signature but less resolving.

These cables need 150+ hours to come into their own...

Wig
Thanks @ozzy @lak

@wig seems like the Nanotec are sold by Jaguaraudiodesign ? which connectors did you use to build the cable ?
Wig the Nanotech 308 on the picture, it's looks like there is only one pin..?
@wig which power cords did your Nanotech 308 outperform?
I ask for an idea of campareson?
Look the cables under my virtual system called X20s; 308s approached 95% of the SQ these cables provided and the only cable in years that came even close which took me my surprise with no burn-in time.

Wig
From the Jag site, $290 gets you 1M of 308 and the connectors Wig mentioned, plus your labor.

They are only selling the NCF version of FI 50M. The FI 50M alone cost most than the cable.
The FI-11 R are pretty good but the FI-15 R Plus would be a better option with all copper and reasonably priced.

Wig
lak,
They certainly look pretty, but what's under the rhodium, brass or copper? It doesn't say.
debjit, Here is where Jag sells the Fl-11 set for $139;  they are listed under DIY heading; http://store.jaguaraudiodesign.com/furutech-fi-11-power-cable-connector-set/.  Lak's set at $39 a pair is the value option.
lak - Many thanks for the post!  Just to keep everyone in the loop...we actually use 3 different treatments on the cables (not at the same place or on top of each other).

Since we are an authorized Furutech Retailer, we can build custom cables using any desired Furutech parts.

After reading the last few posts about the Nanotech and Furutech wires has peaked my interest. (I am such a tweaker)...

Well I ordered some of the Nanotech 308 wire and the Furutech FI-50 NCF (R) connectors. Unfortunately, the wire and the Furutech connectors are coming from Japan so there's no telling how long its gonna take...

ozzy

@ozzy - did you order from Jag or from somewhere else ? Is it easy to setup the connectors to the wire ?
debjit_g

Very easy assembly, strip wire and screw down 6 screws total; 30 minutes of your time will save you $80+. I'm loving my Nanotec 308s.

debit_g,

Yes, I ordered the wire from Jaguar but he had to order it from Japan.
The connectors that I will be using are the top of the line Furutech NCF versions.

I have built several power cords using Military grade cables. But this was just working with the Teflon jacketed conductors themselves. This cable will also have the thick heavy jacketed material surrounding the conductors.

And, that is the hard part cutting through the thick PVC jacket just to get down to the conductors without nicking them.

Any experienced words of wisdom from DIY’ers guys out there?

ozzy

Well I just found out that the Nanotec 308 is no longer available from the manufacturer in Japan. It seems there is something wrong with the jacketed material that is used with this cable.

I did however receive my Furutech Fl-50 nano connectors and they look awesome!
Now, I need to install them on something. With the Nanotec 308 out of the picture I'm not sure what to go after.
I wonder how they would perform with the Cerious Technologies power cords?

ozzy
ozzy, there is always the Furutech Nano-Ag-Au power cable (wire) which looks very similar to the Nanotec 308 wire.
@ozzy

I placed an order from this place over the weekend. Haven't heard anything yet about shipping but it is early. Cheaper than Jaguar while shipping is only $6 more

t_ramey,

I have contacted them and many others through out the world . Today, I received an email from War, they said out of stock and they have to order more. If that means from Nanotec it is not currently available.
The factory emailed me this week that the Nanotec 308 will be available in 2-3 months. Other dealers are not too sure. Sounds like version #309 is in the making...

Just just a quick report. @wig  told me I would be amazed at the CT GE umbilicle cord for my Modwright Oppo 205 and he was right. Bob did it again. This sweet cable is refined and improves the already excellent sound im getting with my 205, AHB2 and Double Impacts.
@lancelock

Awesome! Wywires replaced 4 other umbilical's from day one and having hearing about CTE I just had to try them and what a revelation... Good to hear they complemented your system as well.

Wig
Guys,

Send me a PM if you are interested in a pair of CT Graphene Extreme SC.

Wig
@debjit_g
Not many cables near the CTE price range even come close but the Deulund DCA16 really compliments my system and the sound signature is similar to my Teo Audio Splash Rs.

Wig
If anyone is interested in a 3 foot Cerious Blue power cord, I have one listed now on Audiogon.

@wig Can you PM me? Not sure why I can't send you one. Maybe too low of a post count. Thanks.

Klh007,
I am the second owner of a well cared for Graphene Extreme red power cord which replaced my favorite digital power cord on my Aqua LaScala II Optologic dac just for kicks. I heard an immediate improvement but thought it was new stuff syndrome, so I walked away for a couple of hours. When I sat down again I could only grin and shake my head in amazement. I have never experienced a power cords affect in my system with such profound impact!
i had ordered CT IC’s and speaker cable just prior to adding the power cord which have  not arrived yet, but I can’t wait to add them to my system. Next Tuesday should be fun and exciting.
powerglide, I'm glad to hear about your positive reaction to the GE Red PC, and I want to hear how the other cables sound to you as well. Have you asked Mark Sossa (AQUA) about upgrading to the new algorithms for your DAC? Exciting week coming up, let them burn in to hear their best performance.
Klh007,
Concerning the Aqua, I was assuming the upgrade was only available for the Formula at this time. I will check to see if mine is due.
Bob informed me during conversation on the handling of the cables during use. I will respond as the fun progresses.
Klh007,
Game over with a slam dunk which shatters the backboard in a million tiny shards! Rather than a synopsis at this point in time, I just ordered two more GE Red PC’s. Will see what the future holds with a complete loom. This is gonna’ be good.
If you haven’t tried the GE Digital 1/0 into your headphone dac you may be missing the most fun, as it transformed the 10 year old Senny HD650’s into powered subwoofer headphone with no smear.
i thought for a minute my head was going to vibrate except the control is fabulous. Broadband was there with no break in time.

Upgraded from Speltz's Anti-Cable level 3 reference speaker cable to CT GE speaker cable between my BAT vk 500 and the DI's. These are just ass kicking cables!! Black black background, super delineated and defined bass, very natural sound tone and timbre. Beautiful soundstage. Taller wider deeper. Zero harshness to be found. Choral voices all separated in an astonishing manner. Found out I can connect my desktop to my pre directly. YouTube live everything imaginable and the sound is incredible. Keith Carlock drum solo was like being there live and acoustic. The resolution is just beautiful. These are the most natural sounding cables I have heard and they are very very close to the real thing. A saxophone sounds acurate. Piano is just stunning. Violin is almost perfect and I am willing to bet that changing out the IC's will bring the sound much closer to real. There is something very delicate sounding about these cables. All the information is there. My brain was actually shocked at first because of the realism.
Thank you Bob! You ain't gettin' these back from me!
Greg

Greg22lz,
Love it  when disruptive product pairings occur. The full loom wired into my system has caused all upgrade apprehension to cease indefinitely. Can’t say anything further that would improve upon your last post.
So nice to experience some true technological leaps in this industry.
It would be interesting to see what would occur if the CT GE Speaker Cables were sold with the newest Tektons as my humble pair of Impacts were transformed in ways unimaginable.
Powerglide,
wow cool! I am in the process of moving that direction with the CT GE IC's. I know it will be a grand slam as the speaker cables have already made a huge difference!Just impressive!
Hi all i am new to here. Currently i am using inakustik 1603 silver speaker cable and am curious in GE speaker cable. Do you think should give it a try?
I am also thinking to get a pair of hf reveal balance interconnect for dac to int. amp. I am using oyaide TUNAMI TERZO XX V2 at the moment.
For the power cords for dac and amp, reveal or GE better ?
littlecx,

Best I can comment is the Cerious speaker cables are the best cables I have owned/tried.
