Cerious Technologies NEW Graphene Cables

Now, this is not a advertisement, just a posting sharing my experience on some well made great sounding cables at a very reasonable price. Besides, I don't think Cerious Technologies is set up for a big influx of cable orders.

But, if you get the chance to try these cables, please do.

I have been interested in the newer cables coming out that are using Graphene as a conductor. SR cables seemed interesting, but I always hated the way there cables had all those extra wires (with the active shields and such). I then noticed an ad early in I think November or December from Cerious Technologies for Graphene cables. I investigated how the cables were assembled and it seemed like quite a laborious process.

I ordered (with a 30 day money back guarantee) the balanced Graphene interconnects, and boy did they impress me. Such depth, soundstage, realism, frequency smoothness, effortless sound. I was truly impressed!  I now have a complete loom of the Cerious Technologies Graphene cables. That is; interconnects, speaker cables, digital cables and power cords.

I ended up selling all of my other cables and to those of you who have read my postings know that cables have always been my curiosity.

So, as I began this post, let me again iterate, I have no alliance to the company, my posting is for those of you looking for an great alternate high quality Graphene made cable without spending a fortune.

JG those cables you return were not in good shape, but you were refunded all of it per Bob.This is probably the reason why your new order is not accepted..if  I were you, I will compensate Him for the damage first then order again, if you like his product, At this time Iam on Bob side...I heard his speaker cable at Markr system, on his system , for the price he is asking they are bargain , heck of a good cable, huge soundstage..,Bob I promise when I audition your cable I take care of them, if ever they are coming back to you ...
I might not care for your cables Bob, but your one entertaining ole cracker!
TIP of the Day: When auditioning Bobs cables: DO NOT TAKE THE PLASTIC WRAP OFF THE SHRINK WRAP. Apparently when you breath on them, the printed logo comes off. He complained to me about that when I returned mine. But in the end Bob did refund me, so thank you and I am sorry for ruining your cables Bob. :P
aniwolfe you are a stand up guy. I will get you some day into the Cerious camp, but in the mean time feel free to unwrap the labels - just don't drag them behind your car. At least that is what it looked like JG did. My son appreciates what JG did, he got the cables free (I couldn't sell them...).
aniwolfe...how do you destroy cables that you potentially might be returning for a refund in such a short period of time..???I have had cables for years that were basically like new looking when i sold them. Obviously you don't have much respect for things that you own.I agree with jayctoy..you owe Bob !!!!.I would not sell you anything else...
@calloway
Bob rated my returned SC's at a 7/10 lol #fact
What I did to ruin them was....Unpacked cables out of the box, took the plastic wrap off (BIG MISTAKE!), and installed them. Put 100+ hrs on them, packed them up and returned them. I was told I trashed them and they needed to be re-terminated in order to sell them as a demo pair. Oh I forgot one thing, I played some Jump Robe with them outside. Maybe that's what trashed them??
They are really good for jumping rope...especially the negative conductors which are really heavy...
aniwolfe...#1..reread his post.... he rated them at '6/10'...not 7/10...I am sure he did not sell you a 7/10 cable so to go from 10/10 or 9/10 to 6/10 is a significant drop and indicates a significant lack of care on your part.Putting '100+ hours on them' is a passive process...requiring no handling of the cables. Your lack of care/respect for the cables, with Bob's 6/10 rating says it all.
@calloway

I don’t need to reread his post :P
You might need to reread my post actually lol
I know how to break in cables by the way. I never touched the SC’s. Please don’t assume :)
I think there is some miscommunication. I do apologize if I didn’t word it correctly. I was just chiming in on MY EXPERIENCE with Bob. It was similar to the post below by jgoomba5 .  ...Kapeesh?
aniwolfe - These excerpts from 2 of your posts convey diametrically opposite points:

@maxima95
Let me explain so you understand.

Calloway Post
" Putting ’100+ hours on them’ is a passive process...requiring no handling of the cables."

My answer:
I played (broke in) the cables for 100+ hours. During the break-in period. I did not interrupt them or touch them during this process. No physical contact. Though I did get the urge to touch them, my wife was in the room and I felt its was inappropriate.

P.S
For the record so this isnt furthered misunderstood
Bob rated my returned SC’s a 7/10
Bob rated jgoomba5 ’s cable return a 6/10

So I took aniwolfe's recommendation and used the GE SC to jump rope. I went to the local elementary school and jumped rope first with a normal jump rope. The blacktop had a glare from the sun that was disturbing and the noise from the kids playing was distracting enough to make it hard to concentrate. But when I switched to the Cerious Technologies Graphene Extreme to jump rope...OMG! The glare was just...gone (!) revealing even blacker blacks and the noise from the kids was at least 20 db lower making it easier to to hear their individual voices that expanded before me in a huge soundstage. Unbelievable!
We are all good and while we have hiccups from time to time I love my customers - all of them - and count my blessings everyday. I am so lucky to make a living doing what I love and would be doing anyway. Thanks to everybody... (the jumping rope thing was meant to be a joke and I was poking fun at myself as mush as anyone). Happy Friday!!!!!!
Bob help they are attacking me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Use your Batman Negative Conductor Graphene  Gun on them!!!!!!!!!
@rgrost I suggest building one of each cable for demo.  They can place an order if like it.  This way you're not stuck with new cables damaged from demos.

Hi Guys,

I got confused trying to connect the speaker cables to my speakers and amp. Do I match the +/- on the cables against the +/- on the speakers and amp or do I follow the colours, which would make it impossible to match the +/-.

Remember this topic being discussed before but hope someone can help me on this.

Thanks.

Always match the positive (+) markings on the cables with the corresponding positive markings on the (+) amp and speakers.

ozzy

Hi Ozzy thanks for that.

That's what I did and must say I am real impressed by the cables.

Didn't believe it could beat my SR Core Active SE cables but it did.

Regret not ordering the Interconnects and PC at the same time to save on shipping.

My initial impression between Teo GC and Graphene ic they have similar characteristics in my systems, at this time after listening to both, I am super impress, they are very different to my Reveal HF ic...this three cables match well in my systems....

jayctoy,

Interesting...

Can you describe each and how they are different to the Reveals?

I am using balanced cables throughout and the Teo GC cables are only RCA so I'm not sure the change to that cable would be an improvement over a proper balanced connection.

ozzy

Keep in mind..if the Reveal are used in the system before the other cables. The other cables get the effect of the magnets. So its best to install the HFC products last and they need a few days to allow the effect of the magnets to work. The HFC are not the best to A/B.

In my system the GE IC's sounded very different than the Reveals.
Aniwolfe  the Reveal does well in my system from preamp to amp, Ozzy the Reveal gives you the live fresh presentation of music, good texture n tone, the Teo GC and Ct graphene both  give you more organic sound and inner detail...they have more extension, the Teo is from source to preamp, I feel like to get the best out Teo n Ct graphene in my system Reveal should be in the chain, to obtain that exciting live fresh music n effortless listening.....this three cables in my system they synergize more than any cables I heard in my systems, Iam happy with my sterling aq speaker cable connected with them....Ozzy I am also using them with my Andra 1, monoblock supercharger 550 musical fidelity...,
Ozzy I heard the CT speaker cable at Markr I am impress , I email Bob to inquire regarding the 5ft I need..and one meter ic? Honestly Bob ic in my system they sound great...,I might post here or at my Reveal thread with more detail, Markr is extending the days I will have his cable...thanks Bon
Bob:

I run cables though my floor and to my speakers on the other end of the room. Shorter is better, but happy wife relies on this long distant placement. So, If anyone ever returns a 20 foot pair of cables which are hard to look at due to cosmetic issues, and which you deem unsaleable,  please give me a holler. I generally don't invite my guests to crawl under my house. Its my own little sanctuary. So, I don't care how they look. I care how they sound.

jayctoy,

Thank you for your post. I think the Cerious Graphene speaker cables are really great and I believe you will be impressed with them. BYW, I had the Andra 2 speakers for many years.

aniwolfe,

I wonder what would happen if the XLR Reveal is added to the end of a XLR Cerious Technoligies Graphene XLR interconnect?

Have you ever tried it that way?

ozzy

Hi guys,

I just got my CT IC, what's the average break in time for those?  Please let me know, thx.

Allan
CT products usually sound really good as soon as they arrive when you put them into your system however they will improve with between 25 to 100 hours.
I've had the GE SC in my system for 3 days and I'm elated with their performance; definitely an increase in transparency, image specificity, sound-stage width and depth.

These SC are true "Chameleons", they display a very realistic and organic sounding presentation and I'm looking forward to more burn-in time...

Wig
Thx Lak.  I like everything about it so far but just hope the high will be more extended after I break them in.
Ozzy as good as the Reveal if you can make the balance work for you, In markr system the Reveal sound very life like , fresh effortless, live presentation, Markr use CT speaker cable like yours, I use sterling speaker cable and two Reveal rca ic, this is the best combo I heard the Andra fleshing instrument and voices like so real, Palpability is top notch.....
Wanted to try out so i finally did. I will keep my former cables (TelluriumQ SD) which are quite much better. These CT cables are good cables for sure - got lots of details, but generaly lacked PRaT, so took away some of the vitality and musicality in my system.
This graphene tech is not well controlled and implemented, yet.
Hddg in my system there was PRAT, it complemented High Fidelity stuff, different system, different result, cables are borrowed from Markr ....

hddg - Your observations as to what you hear are, of course, as valid as anyone's.  Within that context, it appears that your cables cost 9 to10 times more than the GE.

However, your comment that the graphene tech is not well controlled and implemented is gratuitous and speculative.
Believe me the graphene ic in my system it has the control, the micro and macro dynamics are to die for.....the bass is tight on my diapason adamantes....they are natural sounding cables..
My two cents on Bob's cables; place CT cables on gear and do not move or reposition cable for two months. IMO after two months the warm sound of cable diminishes greatly and what is left is the sound of your gear not CT cables. This goes for new and broken in cables.

Interesting. Bob has talked about not moving the PCs because of the special vibration damping ceramics. In that case, he said they take about a week to reset after being moved. Are you saying this applies to the ICs, SCs and digital, as well?
2 months!!
How is someone suppose to get a true sense of these cables with a 30 day audition?
Maybe that's why I returned mine? They were untouched throughout my audition btw.

+1   I don't have CT but exactly my experience with cables.   Only way to evaluate is live with them for an extended period of time.   Quick A/B, double blind test ... are all waste of time IMO.

That seems like a long time. The CT always sounded good with my equipment from the start. But, perhaps the first few hundred hours as usual are needed for proper break in.

BYW, due to a system change I have a 2.5 Meter balanced Graphene Extreme for sale here on Audiogon.

ozzy

This is interesting.  I just got my CT IC 2 weeks ago and I told Bob that the mid/high were not extended and smooth as I want to be.  He said they will open up and they did after 2 days.  Then no more improvements after the first week.  So I took the cables out and kind of bent them a little bit here and there.  All of a sudden, magic happened!  From top to bottom just sounds amazing and now I am afraid to touch them again.  Hope they will stay that way forever.

I love the CT IC and SC, they sound amazing for the price.  I also tried the blue power cord but did not work out very well in my system.  I would definitely try it again if I get a new amp.
I agree with Ozzie, a couple hundred hours of listening should give you a true indication of what the product CTG sound like.
I don't think there is a consensus. When i introduced Bob's speaker cables and power cables into my system i heard the improvement within the first 2 days and it really hasn't improved appreciably since. Great cables...
tommylion, yes, I have a few cables from LC, Nano, and now GE line.
The CT cables in my system when moved seem to cycle from warm to warm and analytical until disappearing altogether.

I do not believe CT cables exaggerate any sound frequency on their own or have a true signature sound on their own once they are broken in and left in place. The cables have a special skill of not introducing artifacts and by being neutral without being lean.

Ozzy, thank you for this thread...

My CTG first time I connected it sounded good right away then no more improvement. The second time after I disconnected it and connected it again , it did not sound good at all, but it did improve everyday I listen to it, it took 6 days to settle in my system.

Curious about your Cerious.

Are you guys lifting the cables off the floor?

Also I use Stabilant 22 on the connectors ends.

ozzy

Break in time is very system dependent. For instance some amplifiers require 1/2 Volt at the input to output 100 watts and some require 3 volts at the input to have the same output. Most cd players have a fixed output limiting the range of dynamics versus a link from preamp to amp which will bring all sorts of voltages into play. Low efficiency speakers will require pumping 200 watts through the SC while horns combined with SET amps may never see anything more than 4 watts! Low impedance speakers will pump lots of current while higher impedance speakers will be voltage driven. Believe me when asked by a customer "How long will these take to break in?" we have no freakin clue! The truth is they will be broken in when they break in. All we can do is give "guidelines" of 100 hours or so which is our way of saying "patience Grasshopper...".

Can I order a Graphene Extreme by-wire speaker cables(1pair) or  Graphene Extreme speaker cables + Jumper cable?
