Best rock song of all times

Only one answer please.
Not the best written or the best musical complexity but the one that represents the rock.

My choice: Satisfaction - Rolling Stones

Reasons:
- first notes are like the 5th of Beethoven (when you hear those notes, everybody pumps up the volume)
- still very up to date
- a mix of rock and blues rock and Motown sound
- lyrics talks about disatisfaction of young people vs life, politics, money and women (even B Dylan like that song)
- music is very basic as a good rock song should be

"Johnny B. Goode", Chuck Berry (1955)
"Johnny B. Goode" is a song written by Chuck Berry in 1955, and is considered one of the first pure rock and roll songs ever recorded. The song is the rock and roll version of the American dream - a poor country boy from the backwoods has dreams of becoming a star by hard work and his skill at playing the guitar. The Father of Rock & Roll. The Real King......
This is an impossible task.. I'll just go with Thin Lizzy "The Boys are Back in Town"

Rush- The Spirit of Radio. Complex, Catchy, and Inventive. I don't believe there is a standard for stupidity in Rock. It either Rocks or it doesn't.
Layla.

I know, I know - not necessarily simple, not necessarily very basic, but after those first 7 notes you are already crankin' the volume. And if you don't crank it, then you're already dead...
I might have to agree with Baba O'Riley. And if you ask, "what is the best rock Album, I would definitely go with "Who's Next".

Enjoy,

There's this little number by The Beatles called "Revolution". Listen to the single, not the White Album version, and tell me the song does not have it all.
Lennon's opening scream on "Revolution" is, without a doubt, the BEST scream on a rock&roll song!
I'm with the last two entries... Revolution by the Beatles. Lennon nailed it. A best rock song in any ones book. But Lindisfarne, I'm surprised, nothing from "Nicely Out of Tune"?
Happy Listening!
Timrhu,

Maybe, but Roger Daltrey does OK on "Won't Get Fooled Again". That's a pretty good scream...

Enjoy,

TIC
You want to hear a scream? Wilson Pickett covering "Hey Jude" BTW Duane Allman is on guitar.
Sweet Child O'Mine has a great riff...

All above suggestions are excellent candidates too - check this out url for a "researched" list....

I will add another vote for:
Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen

WOW...It may be one you don't immediately think about but when you hear it...WOW.
From one emotional extreme to another. Now I don't know the history behind the song but basically three classics in one. My unbiased opinion: Nothing...I repeat nothing beats it, there may be songs I like better for my tastes, memories etc... but Bohemian Rhapsody is had to argue against.
Hate to disagree there, Launche, but BoRhap is silly, disjoint, soulless, flash crap. IMHO, of course. "Good Times, Bad Times" is pretty good, though. So is "Hungry Freaks" (FZ).
All this and not one mention of the Cream, Sunshine of Your Love. Or....Funk 49 by the James Gang who by the way I just saw.
We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions.

Correction on the Bohemian Rhapsody song, silly me I'm not a big Queen fan but all these years I thought that Bohemain Rhapsody/We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions was all one song. Blame the radio station for that, most times I heard it they played all three together and when I heard them seperated I just thought they were breaking them up for radio play sake...duh...call me stupid. That's why I originally said "three classic in one."

Now with that clarification, I vote for We Will Rock You/ We Are The Champions combo (which I now realize are also two different songs.) But mostly played together when I've heard them. This combo is the definitive rock song and anthem IMO.

Somebody help me get this egg off my face.
