A valentine poem to tubes

Roses are red, but the music is warm,
Glowing tubes delivering sweet sonic charm.
Strings sing so sweet,
Bass vibrates your feet,
Each note's a caress in this audio balm.

Transistors may boast an efficiency claim,
But tubes whisper secrets, ignite passion's flame.
Harmonics alight,
Textures take flight,
A soundstage expansive, defying all name.

So crank up the volume, let melodies flow,
With each blooming ripple, emotions aglow.
Roses may fade,
But the music that's made,
Is a love song, eternal, which kind tubes did sow.

Tube vibrate like earth,
And the center glow
as in my warmer heart the hearth
when music make us dance and bow

Dear friend marry solid state
With some Fleming device
I propose to illuminate
virtue with some vice
😊

Happy Valentine supper to all audiogon ...
But we need more
Than cathode ray
For good sound My Lord !
We need a room to fray

Edison is not enough nor Fleming
We need Helmholtz
Acoustic rule and sing
Decibel and waves rules over volts

😊

Roses are red. Violets are blue……

if you don’t like TUBES…

well buddy

F.. You.

Tubes glow red and when you are blue

turn ‘em on and the magic ensues.

Can’t tell the difference?

Can’t suzz out the inference?

To me, its not worth the diffidence to transistors fellow audio princesses and princes.

If it sounds good no matter the amount of expence, then your recompense makes sense.

Tubes are nice
They glow in the dark.
With the right wine
A romance may spark.

Roses are red

violets are blue

when I listen to Alice in Chains

my neighbors do too.

Until Class D

With some fancy DSP

Some solid state

But mostly

It's tubes for me

These are great!

Ok, this is too mean by half but...

There once was a solid-state boob
Who ridiculed fussy red tubes.
Till one day, at leisure,
He imbibed their sweet pleasure
And understood he was the rube.

And the retort from the SS folks:

Tube folks love second harmonics --
distortion -- which they call a tonic.
The solid state gang
Just sighs with a pang
At addictions so desperately chronic.

Tube may make sound soluble
In the room waving water
But there is more about the sound ether
Think twice and go out of this bubble

Tube dont replace solid state
No more than digital erase vinyl
alternatives are trade-off mate
We must put on trial

The fact that things are not equal
Does not means that one is always better
In all cases and for everyone not at all
It means we must adapt picking the right setter

I learned audio science
As i learned english
Using the right sentence
As i use the right gear piece

For me and my room
There is no more doom
For me and my room
There is no more gloom

There is no right or wrong
When we hear a gong
only better or lesser approximate
Acoustic rule soon or late

Tubes glow red. Mac meters are blue.

If your system has both.

Thumbs up to you.

Class D, it's not, my Technics amp
Despite tube lovers that often rant
The sound is sublime
No etch, no grime
To admit as much, they can't

Glass amps are a pleasure                                                                                   That many folks treasure

While sand amps abound                                                                                      And Many prefer their sound

Made of glass
Or made of sand
Dont make a fuss
About amplification mystic and
let your room do the music at last
