Using a DSP and DAC
Your analysis is 100% correct. The fancy DAC is wasted. Get to the Xilica directly via a digital source, if you can. The kind of exception to this rule is if you are using a DSP on a subwoofer only. Then the fancy upstream DAC is still worthwhile.
Going linear - The Luxman 507ux
My girl kittie keeps sitting in the sweet spot since I brought the Luxman home. High praise. She also liked the bedroom setup. Monitor audio with NAD 3020D. My main Class D's, not so much.

Tweeter Capacitor Upgrade (Coincident PREs)
Hey @Cal3713Glad to hear you are so happy. :) Listen, can you tell me what your experience is comparing the Clarity with the Jupiters? Best,E
Soundproofing
PS - ASC and GIK are great for treating how the INSIDE of your listening room sounds, and they may also have sound proofing materials. What I meant to say is that the two types of products and practices are different. Best,E
Soundproofing
Most materials sold by places like ASC and GIK (my fave) won't help you. You need mass. The best Ideas I've read about are to use 2 layers of drywall with resilient channel in between. I encourage you to google for more specific solutions. Here is...
Bi-amp benefits with active crossover
If you are going to keep the original crossover I'd suggest then is you bi-amp at points far from the speaker's crossover. For instance, if the speaker is designed with a 2 kHz, set the high pass at 500 Hz, and low pass at 5 kHz. Your high amp wil...

There's a Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab pressing of Dark Side of the Moon that literally "fixes" all the phase problems in the original. Hahahaha.
Please, help me to pick the right center and surround speaker for my home theater
You know my secret source for center channels is Parts Connexion. https://www.partsconnexion.com/speakers-electronics.htmlThey always have closeouts on good centers.
Best path to upgrading older system: Thiel, Adcom, CAL Audio Lab, Thornes....
Um, a new DAC, and also room acoustics. RA can not only tame the Thiels, but also make your room more speaker friendly, not to mention open up the space and soundstage. I just heard the Rogue tube pre, it's really good.

@meadowmanThat's really interesting!! Becuase the buyer did run around looking to see if other speakers were also working. To him, the effect was a super-wide soundstage. Maybe this is why the treble and bass were set so high? Best,E

Hi @gawdbless :Of course, fools and their money are easily parted, and individually, no I don't care. My point was that this says something about gear prices and culture. This is a social commentary post, and I hope you don't object to that. And y...

Buyer bought the the out of phase. Well, TBH, I don't know he actually bought. But he felt the out of phase was almost as good, and in his price range. So he started talking about colors and delivery times and left the showroom with the dealer.
Amplifier design parameters required for a good match for high (16+) ohm speakers?
I'd worry about noise and sensitivity first. If the sensitivity is much higher than low 90s, any noise in the amp will become more obvious. Might be best to discuss the specific speakers you are thinking about. People can give you specific recomme...
