Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Today is Gustav Mahler’s birthday which I celebrate by playing all of Mahler’s symphonies plus Das Lied von der Erde. With a 10 minute intermission between each piece, this “Mahlerthon” will take 16 hours.
Arvo Pärt: Spiegel im Spiegle
John Luther Adams: Everything that Rises for String Quartet
San Francisco Symphony, Mason Bates, Alternative Energy. Really well recorded, and just plain fun.
Rachmaninoff, Symphonic Dances, performed by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Donald Johanos, as recorded by Vox in 1967 with a two microphone set up.

In 1970 every HiFi shop in the country had a copy of the LP to use for demos. It is available on CD if you don't have the LP or don't want to pay collectors prices for the vinyl.  It is one of the best orchestral recordings ever made.
Daniel Barenboim, "On My New Piano"

Thank you @twoleftears for posting the only Classical entry in the last two pages, and for posting such a good recording. The low end on that piano is impressive. I loved the Beethoven.
The Bad Plus - These Are the Vistas
Thanks to @ghosthouse for the introduction to a Bad Plus album I hadn’t heard. Thanks to Tidal for enabling me to listen to it.
“Do You Know Emperor Joe?” by Werner Pirchner from a 192kps mp3, listening on my 47 year old Infinity 2000A speakers, and I’m loving it. Why? Because it really is all about the music.
Listening to “Buena Vista Social Club.” Setting aside the obvious genius of the music and musicians, it is a REALLY GREAT sounding recording. Maybe one of the best ever made.
@boxer12, it’s 1950’s Cuban pop music. A cross between Ritchie Valens and Harry Jsmes.
Henning Sommerro: Ujamaa & The Iceberg; Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and Choir, 2L Records. Recorded in discrete 11.1 at DXD resolution.

This is the best recording I have ever heard

Symphony No. 6 in A Minor, “Tragic,” Michael Tilson Thomas, San Francisco Symphony [2001]

Britten: Sinfonia da Requiem - Benjamin Britten: National Philharmonic Orchestra

Taïra, Yoshihisa; Hiérophonie V. One of the very first high dynamic range digital recordings
