Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Nutty.
Was so close to hitting play on that album but went with Black gives way to Blue, Alice in Chains instead. They were right next to each other in my Deezer playlist!
Trying to decide which I like better: The Reiner or the Barenboim recordings of the Verdi Requiem.

Yes, I also have two of the Guilini .
Crazy situation where I can buy SACD cheaper from England including shipping to me here in the USA than buying here.

That being said, latest new to me SACD.

Sacred Love .... Sting
Actually felt like flipping vinyl today.

Scarabus... Ian Gillan Band

Looks like it have never been played, no hiss or pops or ticks, sweet.
uberwaltz,

Nutty.
I like to cover all media bases...lol
Some days I have the vinyl itch
Some days it might be cassette
Then maybe cd or sacd
Lazy days require streaming though....lol.

There is a place for all media after all the journey is music!
Listened to FM HD Stereo today on the Mac tuner. It was very deep tracks from the mid 60's, 70’s and 80’s. Some of the music I hadn’t listened to in 20 years, brought back a lot of memories. Major Tum by David Bowie brought back memories of my wife and I when we first started dating.
David Gilmour's self titled 1st solo album (1978)
This recording holds up pretty well😎
Tears For Fears - Songs From The Big Chair

Forgot how good this album is....songs, performances and recording quality.
@ghosthouse
You better believe it!
Even the cassette version is awesome sauce!
BTW that and vinyl are the media I have it on...lol
@uberwaltz

Lots of air in the CD version (probably an original redbook release, or close to it, dating from the bad old days of digital, but seems like one they got mostly right. I can imagine the vinyl version of SFTBC sounds excellent. I still have a Nak deck (not getting used). I used to be big on taping records for listening in the car.
Today is Gustav Mahler’s birthday which I celebrate by playing all of Mahler’s symphonies plus Das Lied von der Erde. With a 10 minute intermission between each piece, this “Mahlerthon” will take 16 hours.
@ghosthouse

I use a Nak 582 deck, still going strong.

When I was a kid before those new fangled shiny silver discs arrived first thing we did with a new record was put it on a tape so we could play it in the car after a few beers too many driving home from the local pub....
Now I feel really old....lol
Imam Pjesmu Za Tebe Live in Lisinski - Rade Serbedzija and Miroslav Tadic. (Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, Zagreb, Croatia).
Charles Lloyd Quartet - A Night in Copenhagan. Bluenote. Staggeringly good. Live recording of incredible quality.
In a Mediterranean mood (the European side)...

Thanks, I may have that buried in one of many vinyl boxes.. I’ll look for it.

10 minutes later, I found it.  It's a sealed Rhino  180g record set.  Bought it and never even opened it up.

The MC5, "Back In The USA"
The MC5, "Kick Out The Jams" (original mint first pressing) The MC5 at their best!
Days of No Trust..... Magnum.

Original first edition Dutch pressing.

Sublime......
Mr. Mister, Go On. Good recording! A little off my usual path... also one track from Welcome to the real world, "Kyrie". Well produced and caught some radio play.

Wishbone Ash, Just Testing and No Smoke Without Fire. Oldies but goodies. Redbook, not the best with regard to low frequency energy.

Styx, Crystal Ball. I love the first track. "Put Me On".

Aranda, Stop the world. Straight forward Rock band from Oklahoma. "Hey Sally" is pretty cool. So is "Break Away" and "The Rest of my Life".

Concrete Blonde, Bloodletting. Poor sonics on my copy but an excellent disc and haunting vocals. I've read the album is recorded much better.

The Blues Travelers, Four, excellent harmonica on the Totems!

I have an original Dutch pressing of Bloodletting that will make the hairs on your neck stand up! Should do at $75! Ouch!
The vinyl is well superior to any of the CD versions I have heard.
nutty,
Mr. Mister's Go On is an excellent recording. Not exactly driving music, but very thoughtful and powerful. I think I'll listen to it tonight.
