Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Because of Temple, we Spooled up Mother Love Bone, Apple. Great music!

Ghosthouse,  UK S/T, is not bad either. But I'd give Danger Money the egde. I believe we discussed them on your thread a while ago.

+1 Audioslave- great also, and anything with Chris Cornell is usually great. Even

Hey Nutty,

What a coincidence. I just finished listening to "Squawk" from Budgie tonight. I wonder if we're the only two people in Cincinnati who listened to Budgie tonight?

BTW, I like "Napoleon Bona - Part II" too....

I have to give a shout out to my Sister Debby for my love of Budgie. I found an 8-Track of Squawk in her car in about 1975 and I've been listening to them ever since. RIP sweetie. I miss you.........

If you like ELF also check out URSA Major only put out one album I believe but it's good.
By the way you can find all three ELF albums on eBay at reasonable prices. ELF, LA 59, Trying To Burn The Sun.
Crickelwood Green - 10 Years After

Sounding very good, lo these many more than ten years after.
Nutty - Rare Earth.... Nice! One of my favorites. I've got a couple of copies of Get Ready, a nice copy of Ecology and a killer copy of Rare Earth Live in the Backpack Double LP cover. Great stuff.......

nutty if you have yet to hear any SPOON they are my favorite and produce fantastic recordings that keep you involved. Divine Fits is the side project of the lead singer/writer/main man for Spoon.

db
nutty,

"The Last Time" I listen to is off Bettye Lavette "The Scene of the Crime" (lp).

Patterson Hood producing and playing along.  A great sounding lp!

phototdusty,

I own the Divine Fits lp. I've always liked it. I think I saw recently that Spoon has a new record out? I'm a Andrew Bird fan too.
Bettye LaVette is Bad A$$ and that's all I got to say about that......

I'll let her speak for herself. Try this one - Joan Armatrading's "Down to Zero"

Slaw, yes new SPOON very very soon! Cant wait. Vinyl listening party :-)

Love Andrew Bird. The new one is terrific as is most of his releases.

photodusty,

Here's one that may be under the radar.. My Jerusalem  "Preachers". It's a collaborative effort by several artists, one of whom is Jim Eno of Spoon. It may be scarce on vinyl but worth looking for. I find it to be a little known treasure!
"The Last Time"

I failed to mention..it was written by the great John Hiatt!
Much respect for Mr. Hiatt, goes without saying.

Queen, News of the World
" Sleeping on the sidewalk" is a gem.

Slaw, thanks for that! I will look it up. Jim Eno is one good dude.

Also the new (ish) John Hiatt is really good. Terms of my Surrender.

Had Music Club with my buddies this evening. Too many good tunes to mention, but closed with "Natural Beauty" from Neil Young's Harvest Moon. What a song. Great way to end an evening.......
Pink Floyd "Animals".

from "Pigs",
You're trying to keep our feelings off the street
You're nearly a real treat,
All tight lips and cold feet,
And do you feel abused?

(a cue from reubent)

photodusty,

The main artist on the My Jerusalem is Jeff Klein. He is a mainstay from The Twilight Singers and so on.

The Twilight Singers lp "Dynamite Steps" may take you to places you will want to go.

They do a great version of "When Doves Cry". Check out Youtube!

Cheers!
