Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

nutty
Octane ... Spock's Beard.

Never really listened to these guys before but I am suitably impressed.
Guitar sounds like it was made for my speakers, tone, hearing the fingers move through the fret before the next chord, simply amazing.

highs are a wee subdued, but this is what I like, depending on the recording, some highs are spot on, some are a little subdued, this is how I like it, I have only fallen asleep jamming tunes 1 other time.

I love my speakers/system!

My ears are very touchy whe it comes to searing/molar grinding highs.

Mentioned many times before, it takes me an hour or so to get accustomed to my main towers, with their tweeter cutoff at 600hz.
But after that hour, I’m in bliss and there is zero fatigue what so ever.
can listen (and have mnay times) til 4-430 am With any volume, and nary a listening fatigue.

Especially between 12am - 3 am, where the wall power is at its best
Boxer.
They are prog rock.
Not as far out there as Dream Theater or IQ, a bit more structured songs not 12 minutes long opus.
But in that vein, not sure if you familiar with Flying Colors but very similar.
The Glands - S/T.

Interesting band out of Athens, GA.  Definite Athens sound.  Big Star meets Wilco meets REM with a touch of Beatles thrown in.
Boxer, the Starlight Mints disc gets occasional play at my place too, just an entertaining, light, fun disc!
Deep Purple, “Machine Head”    Audio Fidelity CD
Deep Purple, “Who Do We Think We Are”     Audio Fidelity CD
validpoint, Agree completely with "Starlight Mints". I've been wanting to check out the "Glands". Read about them a year or two back & suspect they would be to my liking.

Bettye LaVette / My own hell to raise
The Rising ... Springsteen.

Pretty much let down by the previous cut of Glen Phillips, was expecting better being ex Toad The Wet Sprocket singer but just ... Meh!
Oh well.
@ uberwaltz, Spock's Beard is one of the most talented bands ever PERIOD! imho. The band has changed lineups a few times, but always seem to find the perfect fit. Masterful musicians & song writers and lots of catchy hooks. They have an extensive catalog and are all solid albums.
CHECK THEM OUT!😎
@ nutty,  George Lynch has crafted another masterpiece with Dirty Shirley!
Singer- Dino Jelusic(also whit Animal Drive)has some great pipes! and I love his style. His vocols come from the heart!
S/T Dirty Shirley Thumps! and is solid from start to finish😎🍺
arcam88, I'm in complete agreement with you on Spocks Beard!

I've also followed  George Lynch's career beginning with Dokken then onto Lynch Mob. He has enjoyed quite a successful career. Now with Dino J. On vocals it has taken his accomplishments to another level.

Joanne Shaw Taylor - The Dirty Truth

Shiver and Sigh (track 8) here....

Nutty - Ambrosia's Life Beyond L.A.  In a totally different mode than JST but solid musicians and some great songwriting, though you'll excuse me for skipping over How Much I Feel.  Way over exposed to that one back in the day.  Title track, Angola and Camarillo work best for me.
Only by the Night .... Kings of Leon.

One of the few Nashville bands that are NOT country!
The Gracious Few..... Sounds like Zepplin meets Mother Love Bone.
"Guilty Fever"
Going to have to check them out as that sounds like awesome sauce!
Thx Nutty.
Well no wonder they sound good.
Remnants of Live and Candlebox.
Live still one of my top go-to bands, Throwing Copper gets a lot of playtime here.

Will spin them up later tonight.

Or not!
Not even Spotify has their album from 2010 to stream. They just have the single Honest Man. 💩!
Ghosthouse,
"Shiver and Sigh" is one of my favorite JST songs for several reasons. One, it's about an ex love of hers which in keeping with her true Blues roots. Two, I believe that her vocals are at her best on The Dirty Truth. Three, there is a nice groove and ease to the song and she wraps it up with a nice solo at the end.

Regarding Ambrosia, I'm in agreement on "How Much I Feel". All the others are an easy listen. "Apothecary" is easy on the ears and has great lyrics.

uberwaltz,
Candlebox and Live are in heavy rotation around here. Candlebox Disappearing in Airports has been on top of the stack lately. As for The Gracious Few, here is a other link for you to check out. It's titled "Appetite".

For the Spock's Beard lovers here you also need to check out Flying Colors.
Mike portnoy from DT on drums.
A very impressive supergroup IMHO.
10-4 Arcam88!

I also really like Son's of Apollo too although a little heavier.
Crap night on tv so got plenty of listening in...

Joni Mitchell / Blue
Black Lips / 200 Million Thousand
Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan / Ballad of Broken Seas

All very different but cool in their own way.
