Liz Stringer "First Time Really Feeling"

Playing 1st lp in over 3 months.....

Off topic, but you boys deserve it…

@noromance , et.  al.

streaming this.  I think you’ll love it:

Lucinda Williams "Have Yourself a Rockin’ Little Christmas"

Never had a chance to listen but once ......

I took the last 3 nights to get through the truly awful Kiss live in 2004 Virginia Beach 3 disc set.  One disc a night was all I could handle.  especially on the earlier songs it just sound like monotone wailing.  Now I know why I mostly stay away from live records.

Hey @armyslowrdr

Wasn't that live set from sound board recordings? I thought about it but decided not to try it.

Bizet/Lalo/Massenet - Jean Martinon/Chicago Symphony – L’Arlésienne Suites 1 And 2 / Overture To Le Roy d’Ys / Meditation From Thaïs (Victor Red Seal 1967)

Excellent record. Truly magnificent.

Ravel - Antal Dorati, Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra – Daphnis And Chloë (Mercury 1956 mono)

Alice Gerrard & Mike Seeger – Alice Gerrard & Mike Seeger (Greenhays 1980)

Like a country bluegrass version of Incredible String Band. Good stuff. Half bro of Pete. Decent recording.

Back to vinyl…..been spinning my neglected shiny discs all week.

Szell conducts Schumann - Symphony No. 2 In C Major. The Cleveland Orchestra. Epic 1962

Great to have you back listening to vinyl Steve!

Tony Joe White / Swamp music

@noromance ,

Nice to know we have our priorities in order.

,.................................

Thanks Tim. Having a blast!

Antal Dorati Conducting The Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra / Stravinsky –Petrouchka (Mercury 1955 mono) side 1

These old mono Mercury recordings have some wonderful soundstage depth in the bass. Timpani are visceral. Upper mids are a little aggressive when things get going. I wonder if it’s some kind of clipping in the recording chain. Massed brass etc.

Welcome back to vinyl, Steve.  And just plain, welcome back!  You deserve some time to relax.  Enjoy the weekend with all of your latest vinyl acquisitions.

Digging deep back today...

Frank Zappa  -  Apostrophe (')   "watch out where the huskies go..."  From my college years, and some wonderful memories.

Blood Sweat & Tears  -  Child Is Father To The Man   My original copy was very well worn so in 2020 I bought this reissue from Music On Vinyl.  They did a great job.  Quiet vinyl and the entire process is quite good.  My favorite from BS&T.

Jethro Tull  -  Stand Up   The Steve Wilson remaster.  I have been craving this for months and finally got to spinning it today.  Just a wonderful album from start to finish.

David Crosby "If I Could Only Remember My Name"

2021/50th Anniversary/RE/Bernie Grundman

outofsight man!!!

Solti conducts Sir William Walton - Krönungs-Te-Deum & Belsazars Fest. The London Philharmonic Orchestra & Choir / Winchester Cathedral Choir / Choir Of Chichester Cathedral / The Choir Of Salisbury Cathedral. Solti Edition Vol. 6 - Chor und Orchesterwerke 18LP box 1981 German release

Henry Mancini-Breakfast At Tiffany's (Music From The Motion Picture Score)1961 RCA Victor Mono

Not my usual cup of tea, but another very nice piece from my F-i-L’s collection. He is very old, very ill and on borrowed time. Years ago him and my M-i-L were stunning ball room dancers and would take over the dance floor at wedding receptions and gatherings. Listening to this brings back some great memories.

Fleetwood Mac - Rumours. This is a clear vinyl copy I picked up recently. Sound quality is okay, a little flat but not bad.

Gonna maximize my listening time vs household

Got a yard of mulch in my truck as a reminder of things to do

@j_husker  That is a beautiful story.  Enjoy the music for that reason, among others.

@slaw ! Welcome back man ! That Crosby reissue is so great i gave away my minty German OP because in comparison it sounds like it was mastered on a table radio from 1974…..

I am streaming some stuff tonight…..

This is the 1st lp.....

Steve Kilbey/Martin Kennedy "You Are Everything"

Wonderful!!!!!

@spiritofradio Thanks for the recommendation of Petite Fleur. Streaming it now. Very tight arrangements. Sweet vocals.
