Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO

Saga-Worlds Apart Side 1 SQ Audiophile

Bangles-Different Light Side 2

Wynton Marsalis-ST Side 2

Metallica-...And Justice For All Side 3

Patti LaBelle-Winner In You Side 1

Bryan Adams-Reckless Side 1

Mary Chapin Carpenter-State Of The Heart Side 1 SQ Audiophile

Pink Floyd-A Momentary Lapse Of Reason Side 1 SQ*

Harry Connick JR.-20 Side 2 SQ Audiophile

Joe Jackson-Blaze Of Glory Side 2 SQ Audiophile

80’s vinyl night part 4 added 2 extra LP’s. Spun 36 albums in 4 different listening sessions and really enjoyed it. Blaze Of Glory Won the SQ trophy and with song writing to match. IMO a Top 25 pop/rock recording of the 1980’s SQ* Pink Floyd had a very expansive soundstage but clarity was slightly lacking? Metallica/SQ was somewhat disappointing since it’s an OP. Yes the bass is down in the mix but the narrow soundstage was more of an issue. Bangles were the weakest link in SQ and content might sound better on CD?

Allman Brothers Band - Seven Turns

1990/2015 Friday Music Remaster

Another great pressing job by Friday Music

Freddie Hubbard, Straight Life

Freddie Hubbard, Red Clay

@boxer12 Thanks for the recommendation. Streaming it now. Interesting and within my genre.

Karin Krog / Don't just sing

@tomic601  - Our last "music club night" had an hour-long pop/rock break. One of my selections was "867-5309" by Tommy Tutone. Great memories...

Does anyone really care about what music is playing that anyone put on?

I guess another human cry out pertinent to "I am'".

The Congos: "Heart of the Congos" The recording quality isn't great but Lee "Scratch" Perry did the mix and it's absolutely hypnotic. I feel high just listening to it.

Faith No More / We Care A Lot

arro222 can enjoy all he wants, by his lonesome self.  He is certainly entitled to that.  Those of us on this thread care greatly about sharing our musical pleasures with others who care just as much.  Most of us on this thread get a lot of ideas not only for what to pull out and play from the depths of our album catalogues, but also to seek out purchases of music that we may not have.  Doesn't it go like this..."If you can't say something nice then don't say it at all."  I believe that pertains to arro222

Dude, you are welcome here when joining in on the fun and pleasures of sharing music experience, preferences, SQ on certain albums, etc.  But otherwise, well, you should get what I mean.

Windy & Carl & Saddar Bazaar / Noises from the darkroom

This reissue takes you right into the recording studio.

I find that record to be extremely interesting.   It’s a musical statement that to me has to be taken seriously no matter what kind of music you like.  They really cared; the musicians, the engineer, the record makers.   I appreciate that you like it too Joel.   These things are self evident, I know.  Great post.  Great thread.

heading out tonight with Grey’s Anatomy to the big concert hall to see the Wailin’ Jennys.  Enjoy the music friends.

My Dad Is Dead “and he’s not gonna take it anymore” Scat 2022 reissue of St. Valentine 1986 release

Brian Eno “Ambient 1” Polydor/EG UK 1978

Why "Thank You" @puffball08  !!

I've had this album for a long time. "English Settlement" was the first CD I ever bought back in 1983-ish. Played it a lot and later bought a nice copy on vinyl. I tried to go CD only for a few years, but just couldn't do it...

Another Thank You to Puffball who recommended "Windy & Carl" to me

Grateful Dead / May 30, 1971

@boxer12  You’re very welcome Tim.  And they’re  “Michiganders” to boot.

@reubent  You’re very welcome.  The only XTC I have is a CD compilation “The Compact XTC-singles from 1978-1985”.  It has their standards like “Generals and Majors”, “Making Plans For Nigel” and “Are You Receiving Me”.  I bought it in England when I was working there in the late 80s.  Pleasant memories of Bristol.

The oft neglected side 2 is sounding really good.
