The Rolling Stones / Their Satanic Majesties Request
1967 Decca

Especially good with headphones

Good time with our music club last night.  The guys enjoyed Lady Blackbird.  Still one of my favorite releases of the last few months.

One of the guys brought Kari Kirkland's Wild is the Wind.  If you like female jazz vocals, check it out.  She doesn't have the most unique voice, but it's a really well produced album and she does a cool cover of Do It Again that I really like.

@bslon

Oooh, nice way to end the evening Bill. I fell asleep watching Olympic Figure Skating - far less worthwhile…

Arrived today,

Sarah Shook & The Disarmers "Nightroamer"

2022/Thirty Tigers

Electric Light Orchestra - Face The Music

1975 United Artists Records

Great album with great production and SQ.

I'm getting anxious for the release of the remastered MSFL Eldorado.

Holly Golightly – Painted On (Sympathy For The Record Industry 1997)

Schampus All Stars – Hear Us Talking (Rillophon 1978)

Actually began my streaming adventure today. Trying out the Grados and some Audioengine desktops. Nice to have some music again!

In my short time streaming, I've heard some really good, new to me music/artists. Just ordered a few lps by Joshua Hyslop and Jeremy Ivey.

Steve, for me, "Discovery" is the most compelling reason for streaming. I hope your bank account survives all your "discoveries"!

So, how are you streaming? What hardware and what streaming service(s)?

Tom, right now through Tidal. I’m listening on the highest SQ setting. Listening through some Audioengine HD4 speakers. I could easily tell the SQ difference through the Astell & Kerns sr25 II on my Grado 1000e. The AK has a nice dac whereas my speakers are powered with no DAC. So a high quality DAC I can tell is very important. The Audioengines are very intoxicating with wide/deep soundstage. They need a little more detail and extension that a good DAC should provide. I have a iFi NEO iDSD on order to try. With Amazon, trying few, if need be, will be fun.

The sound so far is highly enjoyable. I’m not married to these speakers yet. Want to experience what a DAC will do.

+1 Michael Hedges, nice late night choice James.

The Flying Burrito Bros / The Gilded Palace Of Sin
2017 A&M Reissue, orig. 1969

Grateful Dead / From The Mars Hotel
1974 Grateful Dead Records

A favorite Dead record, ++ SQ and interesting back story on the album cover—was it Ugly Roomers, Ugly Rumors, or ??

Jangly goodness! Any fans of Big Star, REM and the like need to listen to the DBs. An under-appreciated influential band. Holsapple & Stamey's later live shows are also great (hint to Pirates).

Last night was a Diet Dr. Pepper & Rum night, listening to all Pink Floyd's Early stuff. Echoes, Atom Heart Mother, Wish You Were Here, Then I shifted gears & played Three Dog Night's (Seven Separate Fools). Not a bad song on either side.

@thechops

welcome to the thread.  Hope you’ll keep posting.

looks like you we’re getting set up about a year ago with a very nice rig.  How’s it treating you now?

@sbank thanks for the post.  Don’t know the DBs ( at first I thought DB Coopers) music but will check em out.

I'll see your Schubert and raise you a Schubert. Funny, I was flipping to side 2, then saw your post, James.
