Steve Miller Band  "Number 5"  I forgot how good this album is.  Been probably 32 years since I last played it.

David Crosby  "If I Could Only Remember My Name"  Second time to play this since receiving it last week.  Really a great album and very well done reissue.

Plant/Krauss  "Raise The Roof"  Just received (yes, Postal service has been busy).  I didn't realize it was a 2-disc set.  I played just disc one, so far.  It's good, but I wouldn't call it great.  Let's see how disc 2 goes and if it all grows on me.

Turrentine-Don't Mess With Mister T. 1973 CTI 1st press

Abbey Lincoln-That's Him 1983 OJC RE

Bob Dylan / Nashville Skyline

The Elvis Costello Show (Featuring Elvis Costello) / King Of America

@bslon The Busboys! I lost my copy but remember it being a fun LP, haven't heard that band mentioned in 20 years.

@tomic601 Glad chatting with you too! Goodies await.

John Coltrane - A Love Supreme (Acoustic Sounds Series)

Got to mention a highly recommended jazz released in 2010, but new to me, that I've only seen available on CD; Abdullah Ibrahim & Ekaya ‎– Sotho Blue Fantastic, classic bebop style straight outta the late 50s/early 60s, with a South African twist. Piano, saxes, and wait for it...trombone. Played it 5x this week.

Trombone ? did somebody say…….starting to think you are just a mouthpiece for the top brass….My job is to be the counterweight so ya don’t go ringing the bell

Chris Whitley - "Living With the Law"

Just got my system put back together. I have a double-wide rack, 4 shelves high. A few years ago, I just threw it into the spot it occupies. Since I got the new TT and want to optimize, I decided it was time to level the rack. Six post racks are a PITA to level! Got it pretty darn close. Enough that just a slight turn on a couple of the adjustable feet on the Pioneer PLX1000 got the level perfect. Now I can move on to getting a new cartridge installed on the extra headshell. Have a line on a nice vintage cartridge. Hope it works out. If not, I'll probably go new AT.

System sounds mediocre tonight after being turned off for several days. This system always sounds better after being powered up for a couple of days. Unfortunate, but true IMHO.

@sbank Like you remember, the Bus Boys are a kick!

George Harrison / Brainwashed
2002 Umluat Corp

Saturday Night Fever / The Original Movie Soundtrack
1977 RSO

Do I hear snickering?  :-)
I didn’t care for disco way back when but turns out the LP sounds great on a good system. My wife snuck it into the rack, good move.

The Cars / The Cars
1978 Electra/Asylum

Trying to purge those Gibbs Bros ear worms out now…My Best Friend’s Girl should do it.

Wallpaper stripping completed!  Just finished patching all of the wallboard issues.  Applied the knockdown texture.  Begin painting soon.  Whew!

Tomorrow I am flying to Washington (state) to spend a day at Daedalus Audio.  Owner, Lou Hinkley, is giving me a tour of the facility and manufacturing process.  I will be auditioning a couple models of speakers.  If they sound as I anticipate them to, I will be placing my order.  About a 4 month build-to-order process.  Check it out at Daedalus Audio website, model Apollo 11 is the likely choice for me but am also considering the Poseidon.  Very stable impedance curve and very friendly to tube amplifiers.  96db efficiency.  Owners reviews describe exactly what I am l looking for.

Listening to my box of Beethoven string quartets, I realized I have not listened to any of his symphonies for a while, so….

Szell conducts Beethoven - The Nine Symphonies. The Cleveland Orchestra. Columbia Masterworks 7LP box, 1974 reissue, originally 1964.

As usual, will start with No. 1 and see where it goes….

What is up with this captcha verification??????? Is anyone else getting this?

@mammothguy54

Nice Joel, have a nice trip! Very cool. Seems like you might be pretty convinced even prior to the trip 😉

Thanks Brian.  Yes, I am somewhat convinced but still need to hear them.  My present Dynaudio speakers (bought them about 15 months ago) I bought without auditioning them.  I got them for dealer cost, brand new model, but they just didn't float my boat.  So, this time I am going to audition the speakers, and after I have done a ton of research on them.  I need to make sure, this time.  Fortunately, I can sell my Dynaudio speakers for very close to what I paid for them.  The model is Contour 60i, if anyone knows someone who may be interested in them.

And yeah, what's this cr$p about authentication with "I'm Not a Robot"

@mammothguy54

Joel, just took a peek at them. Dang, beautiful boxes he creates. If they sound as good as they look, cha ching!

Very exciting.

I have a feeling with all the spam, I guess they decide to use authorization to combat it? I sure hope this is temporary, as it is a pain in da butt.

Lowell George - Thanks I’ll Eat it Here, culling down to a PP and a Friday Music remaster

Joel - Sorry to miss you in the Pac NW - best of luck on the quest ;-) While i have not heard them, the cabinet work is to die for…indicates they give a rip…. good on ya and safe travels

Dave Grusin - Discovered Again - Perfect Vinyl Forever rescuced this from an overzealous grader….

Those are beautiful speakers Joel! I've read some good things about them but have never heard them.

FWIW, This is one of the coolest album covers I own, along with "Steven Wilson's Hand .Cannot. Erase", & "Bardo Pond's Dilate". Love the art.

Expose yourself to Art Tim !
