Thanks, Slaw

Hope you are doing well? Been doing lots of listening, just not checking in.

Testing out a new toy. Got a Degritter and running a bunch of things through it tonight

waltersalas, +1 for "Captain Beefheart"

Welcome back 6T5!

Earthmonkey / Audiosapien

congrats on the Degritter @6t5-gto

Nebraska is something else..i love it.... pure grit

Background music tonight but having a blast (for a lonely audiophile!) replacing 100 old dull outer plastic sleeves on some older records. I’m finding dull sleeves easily 35 years old. Also some glue repairs to a few split covers. Night and day difference in how they look. Best $36 spent in a while. Bought another 100.

Alice Cooper – Billion Dollar Babies (Warner Bros. 1973)

With original billion dollar bills.

@slaw I got 10% off so it saved me a little bit but so far the results have been very consistent, which is what I couldn't seem to do on the DIY solution.

And the bonus is it is stupid simple, which is good for a half wit like me. Just drop in the record and come back 7 mins later to a great record. Really cleaned up my OP of Nebraska, A LOT. At the moment I am have ZERO buyers remorse at the moment

Jillian Welsh - Soul Journey - sounds fantastic after Degritter bath

Recently got a quite copy of Soul Journey. Such a great sounding record!

@slaw it is - but it had surface noise I tried to reduce on the old US machine and it might have been worse after. Perfect now

@slaw it must have a lot to do with it? The machine is very quiet, I was surprised, the loudest thing is the drying fan and you can control the force of it.

My other US sounded like a loud tattoo gun when running

Beck - Sea Change - excellent - I am cleaning and testing a few of my high traffic albums

Lucinda Williams "Funny How Time Slip's Away"

my just cleaned replacement copy

Charles Lloyd and the Marvels - Vanished Gardens

always a desert island disc for me....

@boxer12 nice one on the Butthole Surfers

Steve Miller - Fly Like an Eagle - original Mofi

Paul Revere & the Raiders "The Spirit Of '67" Columbia 1967

Joe "King" Carrasco and the Crowns "Party Safari" Hannibal 1981

Social Climbers "s/t" Hoboken Records 1981

The Dickies "Dawn Of The Dickies" A&M 1980

8 Eyed Spy "s/t" Fetish Records 1980

David Bowie / Aladdin sane

I absolutely love the piano in the song "Aladdin Sane"

Sadly not vinyl, but your posts got me digging.

David  Bowie / Sound + Vision 4 cd chronological compilation.

Not vinyl, I know.  But at least it's not horrible.

thrive

Damn guys, so many good ones on this page alone!

Elliott Smith - From A Basement on a Hill

Paul McCartney - S/T

Pete Townshend & Ronnie Lane - Rough Mix (Classic Records 200g)  Street In The City, a sublime demo cut!  Always leaves 'em 😲

@bkeske,

Brian just ordered 13 Rivers for $15.00.

www.newwestrecords.com  is having a great sale.

Butthole Surfers post brings back memories of their debut ep Butthole Surfers. It was suggested to play at 69rpm. I used to play it at both 45 and 33rpm, think I preferred 33. Always recall perhaps my favorite line from a song, I smoke Elvis Presley's toenails when I want to get high, hillarious! This from the song, The Shah sleeps in Lee Harvey's grave. What a strange introduction to a strange band, this 1983, I'd never heard such craziness, even hardcore bands like Dead Kennedy's couldn't beat this.

Dipping into the "Demo jaw-droppers" rack today:

Nina Simone - Pastel Blues (AS 180g)

Applewood Road (Emily Barker, Amber Rubarth, Amy Speace) - S/T

Silver-Garburg Piano Duo - Stravinsky: Petrouchka, Le Sacre Du Printemps

Fantastic Steve, about time, enjoy! That is a great price, will have to check them out.

(been catching up on my ignored CD selections the last couple days)

Snagged a test pressing of Lucinda Williams "Live @ Austin City Limits" at half price.

@slaw Glad it's half price. I was very disappointed in the SQ of their Neko Case "Live @ Austin City Limits". Living in Austin, I was saddened by poor play from the home team! Can't wait to get back to a show there soon sometime.

Checking out the new Wallflowers release on NewWest (not on sale, but a decent price), streaming, nice, but not sure the SQ is 'top notch'. Tempting though.

They have a few Hiatt selections on sale though....mmmmmm
