Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"

Spooky Tooth - Spooky Two
A&M Records 1969

Looks like there has been a run on spinning ELO - Eldorado in the past week. Great Album!

Greg sadly no. Hard to believe he has been gone almost 20 years.

I was up super late listening last eve, takes a lot of Java to float tge battleship this AM.

Emmylou - Cimarron ( server )

My task today is queue up 16 discs to send to Perfect Vinyl Forever
Just arrived today….

Lush - Ciao! Best Of Lush. 4AD 2LP gatefold 2015 UK release

Been eyeing Lush’s early LP’s, (which I only have on cassette), but they are incredibly expensive, and then saw this ‘best of’ release for a very reasonable amount, and jumped on it.
Aretha-Spirit in the Dark 1970 Atlantic

I was fortunate enough to meet Warren when he came to town in 1991. I was working at a local radio station and was to interview him on air. When he came into the studio there I was with my head phones on, completely speechless and locked up. We didn’t do an interview on air.

Just got a batch of OG Blue Note, Verve, and Prestige back from Perfect Vinyl Forever. This was my 2nd batch of 16 I’ve sent him. A+
Hemming - S/T

i like her voice, but the clipped vocal mic is driving me nuts…i know it’s intentional / producer. but the board surfer in me has me jerking ti reach the slider….Track 2 is better….

Now, i am not so sure, is the vinyl vocal clipped on track 2 peaks also - thinking it’s the streamed file upload…

Hey Jim,
LOL, there is that. I agree that it isn’t a great recording (not terrible either), but I still enjoy it. Probably worse streamed than pressed. I really enjoy their musical style nonetheless. If you haven’t streamed Laura Marling yet, check that one listed above out. It is recorded very well. Also a great musician IMHO.
Laura Marling - Once I Was An Eagle ( Streamer Qobuz )

…… wow, no kidding Tim
Johnny Cash - I Walk The Line (Numbered 180g 45rpm Mono Vinyl 2LP - MOFI Original Master Recording)
Tom - The movie edition version of the song Stones from the River is awesome, duet w Patty is just stunning, once heard it cannot be unheard….
Just arrived, and had to take a break to clean and play it. In really pretty nice shape, so I'm pleased for the cost of this.

John Hartford - Aereo-Plain. WB (green label) 1971.

Fantastic to hear again, and sounds better than I've ever heard before.
@bkeske

Fantastic to hear again, and sounds better than I've ever heard before.

I love it when that happens.  You have a great stereo.
Hey Jim! Thanks. I had never heard the film version of "Stones" before. Wow! Fantastic! And I was just thinking last night that I need to see the movie. That was just reinforced...

FYI for anyone interested:

Bruce Springsteen (and Patty) - "Stones" from the film - Western Stars

Pierre Bartholomée conducts Schubert - Symphonie Nr.10 D Du. Orchestre Philharmonique De Liège. Ricercar 1984 Belgium release
Antal Dorati conducts Rimsky-Korsakov - Le Co D'Or Suite & Borodin - Prince Igor Excerpts. London Symphony Orchestra & Choir. Mercury 1973 Italian release

Bystrík Režucha conducts Rimsky-Korsakov - Night On Mount Triglav (Symphonic Picture) & Pan Voyevoda (Suite). Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra. Records International 1986

Live music last night - Pat Metheny, five rows back, center stage, first date of his tour.  He was in fine form and put on a great show.  His drummer in particular was outstanding.
I broke down and ordered the stereo version of Simon & Garfunkel's Parsley Sage Rosemary and Thyme on Columbia Legacy after waiting over a year for a reissue of the mono version. The SQ is ok but I find the mono production to be far superior.
Another thing I noticed when comparing the new copy to my original mono pressing from 1966 is that the dead wax on the new reissue is twice as wide as my original copy which can only mean the grooves were compressed and narrower. Due to the digital process?
I have to say that 7 O'Clock News/Silent Night is still as chilling to listen to as the first time I heard it!

Has anyone bought and heard the new Renaissance Records reissue of the debut album of Pentangle? I’m having no luck finding a clean original.
CSN&Y Deja Vu. I hadn't listened to this one in a long time, well before the amp and speaker upgrade. I still had a memory of how it sounded so when I heard it, it was like I was listening to someone else's system! Very pleasantly surprised! Great soundstage and dynamics. I've got a new rock reference album again!
