Thanks for the links puffball08! I ran across them when I was researching the machine. And I wondered if I was using my spin clean correctly? Lol.
30 cleaned this far. I’m out of distilled water so I’ll stop here.

Fleetwood Mac - Mystery To Me 2020 remaster from the 1973-1974 WB/Reprise Records Box Set
|
Mary Gauthier "Live @ Blue Rock"
Been 48 hours since my fuse/PPT experiment. Have to say that today, listening to this intimate/acoustic performance is more intimate, draws me in more than before.

@sourpuss123,
"Never, ever, be without distilled water" |
+1 Fleetwood Mac box sets |
Tom Petty "Finding Wildflowers" Alternate Versions |
@slaw... Three of my favorite Mac albums. The people that only know the Buckingham/Nicks Fleetwood Mac era don't know what they are missing.

Pacific Gas & Electric "S/T" after a slow steam and a long trip in the Vibrato |
Garbage "No Gods No Masters" after a flattening.
Sounding much better from the get-go tonight. |
Skipped ahead a few years and did Permanent Waves after 2112 last night.
Just finished spinning Another Side of Bob Dylan-1964 mono to honor a friend that passed yesterday.
Allmans at Fillmore East-1971 Capricorn is next.
@nicks25 congrats on the Accuphase. Beautiful piece. |
John Coltrane Blue Train 2003 Rudy van Gelder remaster |
Windy & Carl, Saddar Bazaar / Noises from the darkroom |
The Thermals "Personal Life"
Forgot about this one, really good! |
In my fuse/PPT experiment so far is an additional and welcome clarity. The PPT stuff is suppose to reveal increased SQ as it cures over 3/4 weeks |
King Crimson Red Atlantic 1974 |
Steve, I was to late for the PPT. Enjoy!
Flennon, +1 for "Red". Wonderful musicianship on that one!
Windy & Carl / Earth |
Justin Townes Earle - "The Saint of Lost Causes"
I saw his father, Steve, do a moving cover of the title song last Friday at a show here in Asheville. Just incredible. RIP, Justin. |
Beausoleil -- "Bayou Cadillac" |
Van Halen -- "Women and Children First" |
Bettye LaVette "Blackbirds" |
Thanks @boxer12. Tim, I think if I hear improvements in the 3/4 week timeframe will be the best test to understand if the cleaning of the fuses/holder contacts was the initial benefit or if it will evolve from there in this application.
Of course you have some experience with the Hi-Fi Tuning compound. |
That would have been great Chris! |
slaw, if you have 1.5ml of TC that will go a long way! Use the thinnest film you can manage and cover more than just the contact area because it is far more than contact enhancement. Cartridge pins, tube pins, and even the outside of the cartridge and around the base of tubes. Just be real careful not to create a short, that is the main reason it is no longer sold, too many people screwed themselves not paying attention. The tiny amount you have will do your entire system with plenty left over to hit a good deal of your panel - if you are up for that.
Sorry. Okay back to topic-
George Thoroughgood and the Destroyers Head East Flat as a Pancake Tom Petty Southern Accents, Damn the Torpedoes (White Hot Stampers, both!) Tchkaivosky 1812 (Another White Hot Stamper) |
Steve, Yes, I am very happy with the improvement from the NPS product. It's probably similar to the PPT, but not sure.
Blues Control / Valley Tangents |
@waltersalas.. +1 on JTE The Saint. I also enjoy the way his father covered the title song on his tribute album JT. Must have been very special to see Steve perform it live. I've played both versions back to back many times. |
Neil Diamond - "Tap Root Manuscript" |
Thanks for chiming in @millercarbon. I’m well aware of the PPT paste being highly conductive. |
Fleetwood Mac - Penguin 2020 remaster from the 1973-1974 box set. |
Christian McBride Trio - Out Here |
+1 for "Flat as a pancake".
Oneida / Rated O |
Hooters - "Nervous Night" |
John Moreland "Big Bad Luv" |
Glad you're back @reubent,Tom, makin' up for lost time? |
@slaw - Hey Steve. It's getting dark earlier, so shorter bike rides on weekday evenings. Gives me an extra hour to try to get in some tunes. We spent several weeks out of town over the summer. A week of paddling/camping in Boundary Waters National Wilderness, a week down your way doing college visits and a week in Colorado doing college visits, hiking, biking, climbing and rafting.
Also, I put the Infinitys back in the system. I prefer the Infinity sound over the JSEs. More engaging.
I just need to bite the bullet and do some work on the old Infinitys since I enjoy them so much. And get a new turntable....

Tom, What happened to the Reference 3As?
We have many great universities here |
Reference 3As are long gone, more than a year ago. Pre-COVID. I previously had Reference 3A MM DeCapo(i) and enjoyed them (in a different room/different home). The Veenas, not as much in my current room. The were definitely audiophile speakers with great resolution. But no meat on the bones. |
One last record side before bed.....
Yaz - "Upstairs at Eric's" - Side 1. |
Chicago "Transit Authority" MFSL sounding better than ever..... |
Steve - I have the Walker goop, and some stuff my former employer use, something has to keep 40 year old AWACs in the air…
Amy Helm - Didn’t it Rain ( server )
Husker - so very sorry to hear of the loss of your friend |
Mott The Hoople - All the Young Dudes |
Jim, I was a first adopter of the Walker paste. Didn’t do much for me . I can say that tonight, I've never heard Transit Authority, one of my all time favorite lps, sound so clear and dynamic! This was from cleaning/treating contacts that aren't in the signal path? Wow!
Is the other stuff called Stabilant? Available on Amazon.
I have the Amy Helm lp. Need another listen.
|
@nicks25,
Love your system. The more I read about the Supratek stuff, the more I want! |
@slaw my local store ran out of distilled water. I really think it was taking up valuable shelf space that Hagan’s feel is better suited for frozen margarita mix. I actually had go out into the world, with all of it’s inherent risks, just to procure more cuz Amazon couldn’t deliver until tomorrow. I’ve got records to clean, dammit! Oh…and +1 for the Mary Gauthier mention yesterday. Not vinyl (cd), but her album “trouble and love” help me keep my sh?t together during my separation and divorce. Cleaning records and listening to;
XTC / Skylarking Cowboy Junkies / All That Reckoning Elvis Costello and the Attractions / IbMePdErRoIoAmL (nasty, persistent “tick” marred an otherwise sublime Almost Blue. Time for a new copy)
thrive |
@slaw
Thanks. I purchased the entry level Supratek and am quite pleased. The addition of the Accuphase really opened up the Equasound speakers.
I trust you are doing well.
|
Steve I ordered her new LP Flood but can’t find Rain on vinyl ?..
conductive carbon black, buckyball, fullerenes, into Stabilant but there are aways risks. Probably should jack up my umbrella policy after that post….
|
@sourpuss123,
!!!! I feel you brother! |
@nicks25,
Good to see MyMat on your system list😎 |
Jim,
I have them both, I think??? |
@nicks25 Nice system, love the cartridge collection for sure. Are you in SD ? i am in Carlsbad come mid / late October….
Have to stop by, we serve distilled water…and |
