Sigmund Floyd - Dark Side, followed by Animals

Daniel - Turgitol arrived today, one step closer…to the edge

Steve, I took a $26 gamble and preordered it as it’s “limited edition”. The label’s had good reviews on its jazz reissues, I couldn’t find any remastering info for this LP.

Bill, I love Grand Funk. Never heard of that label and don't know the particulars of the remastering or I'd be very interested.

Daniel, I believe it's decent. I'd need to listen again after so long since I heard it. I liked all of the other recent PF remasters.

Conor Oberst – Salutations (Nonesuch 2017)

One of my favorites. Grows on you and you can't imagine not ever owning it. Bob Ludwig mastered. Recommended.

Aurora – A Different Kind Of Human, Step 2 (Glassnote 2019)

If you get a chance, check her out on YouTube. This album is fine.

The first two White Stripes lps remastered from original tapes at BG mastering soon. I ordered the debut as I had recently found their second as a 1st pressing

Hey @puffball08 ,

Missed that one at the last RSD I attended a few years ago but bought it at a record show later for a slight premium.

For early Pink Floyd fans, I received an email from Rough Trade today saying they are taking pre-orders for a 2017 remastered version from the original mono tape master of "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn".  180gram vinyl to boot.  Release date is stated as March 4, 2022.

Thank you for the help and quality information.  I made the purchase on Discogs and also sent you a PM in return.

This thread is the best!

@mammothguy54

Just sent you info regarding the Lou Rawls pressing. Will be back tonight. Just getting my play list ready. i will spin a couple obscure recordings tonight.

The Ozark Mountain Daredevils / “It’ll Shine When It Shines”
1974 A&M

Jimmy Buffett / Changes In Latitudes—Changes In Attitudes
1977 ABC Records

@boxer12 If you opt for the repress “Amanita”, be careful with the splatter vinyl. I don’t know who pressed it, but I went through 2 copies to find one in which both discs were free of surface “pocks” from the splatter process. Otherwise, outstanding record.

@sbank Thanks for the heads up about "The Roaches" album

@femoore12 +1 for "Recordings"

Steve, Hope everything is going well with you!

Fire! / (without noticing)

Agree about the band losing The Bear.
I have the Paul Butterfield Blues Band on Edsel Records/England, has Mike Bloomfield, Elvin Bishop and others. Recently played…

@bslon

Canned Heat has always been a fav of mine. I need to get the whole collection, and working on it, only have 3 rights now. 2 of which I've had since the mid-70's.

Great band, but when The Bear, Bob Hite, died, that was pretty much the end. At least for me.

Larry Taylor, on bass, also recorded extensivly with John Mayall, another fav from that time.

But, I tell'ya, that Butterfield Blues Band Album I have just kicks serious butt too. The SQ is really really good. I really need to dig in and find some others from them, or, some other albums Paul Butterfield released. If that album is any indication, they did a splendid job recording and engineering their albums.
