@spiritofradio
I agree. Ryan Adams has released a ton of great albums since going solo but I still favor the Whiskeytown albums.
|
Nala Sinephro - Space 1.8

@slaw I think music like this sounds particularly good on my Quads. I mean recordings of electronic music that was never really played on real instruments in real space.
|
@tgilb +1 for “Strangers Almanac”. One of his best.
|
Ryan Adams' latest is dropping soon.

Whiskeytown - Stranger’s Almanac
”Where’s my nurse with my bottle of pills”
Who else but Ryan Adams

Here is what I learned (mostly from Brian E) about posting images here:
Get a postimage account. I don’t think there is an Apple app. Just bookmark or save the mobile web page to your iPhone’s screen and it will work as handily as an app.
Go there and (pull down the menu at the top right) and “upload “ square (or whatever shaped) photos from your photo library on your phone.
Copy the URL of the photo by using the “direct” link option (second one down) using the little icon to the right. (Don’t copy the url in the box there it won’t copy to Agon).
go to Agon thread and refresh the page
Paste url into the photo box in the new menu above the text box. The photo box has an icon of mountains I think (not the regular text box that doesn’t work)
Click center
Go back up a little and type 350 x 350. With the lock on It Will do the second number for you (or it will be close to 350 anyway)
click done or whatever
check the preview
post your photo
its pretty lame and way to involved, best attempted in a state of grace…

Ha!
Clearly inept at posting images.
Maybe some kind soul will give me direction.
Tried using Postimages.
Thanks

R.E.O. Speedwagon - S/T
IMHO. That is their best album. ( Much different from their sound that led them to being an 'arena rock' band.) Just listened to it last week. Specifically, the song, "Dead at Last."

For people interested in David Thomas and Pere Ubu, there was a great article in the Guardian yesterday. I didn’t know how much David’s health had declined in the past few years.

@dayglow I apologize Evan if I took the thread a little off topic. I agree with you about our primary reason for being here.

The Doors - S/T Talk about standing the test of time. This record came out when I was 5. I didn't really get into it until my late teens or early 20's, it was already "old" then. Today it connects with me more than ever.

The Judds-Greatest Hits Side A
Jethro Tull-The Zealot Gene Side 3
David Amram-Havana/New York(FF-057) Side 1
Hooters-One Way Home Side 2
The Call-Into The Woods Side 2 SQ Audiophile*
Dee Bell/Duran/Getz-Let There Be Love(CJ-206) Side 1 SQ Audiophile
The SQ champ tonight goes to Dee Bell. Stan Getz is sublime on this set. Nice 3D soundstage on this recording. *The Call has sounded better(on same system) we all know the variables. Regarding the current Jethro Tull release the songwriting is there not the voice. I hope this thread does not become overloaded with Youtube posts of systems/recordings playing ect. I would appreciate more content on recording quality some of us are still Audiophiles(not just record collectors).
