Jimi Hendrix Experience / Are You Experienced?
2022 Analogue Productions UNQR #8016, orig. 1967 Track

One of my first record purchases as a kid and long ago worn out through abuse, I have been through several nasty sounding versions reissued both analog and digital. This one finally hits the mark! The imaging is totally 60’s with Hendrix either left of stage or right, like as in concert as a trio. The vinyl is ultra quiet. The final re-issue of AYE for me.

Tried out yet another set of 12au7’s in the Trumpet. Amperex made for HP. Nice, but the CBS-Hytron will remain. I’m beginning to understand just how good they are in comparison to others I have.

Sandy Denny -  Gold Dust. Her last concert/recording. UMC/Island 2022 RSD release. Cleaned it twice more, and a bit more acceptable. QC was not great on this pressing, but nice to have none the less.

Joni Mitchell - The Hissing Of Summer Lawns. Asylum 1975

Ha! Tim, we has an ivory one. I have had women's numbers with zeros in them that were too much trouble to dial.

Sonny Rollins  -  Saxophone Colossus   Mono, and it is wonderful!  AP/QRP Prestige Records reissue.

Lightnin' Hopkins  -  Goin' Away   AP/QRP Prestige Records reissue.  I am totally amazed at what they were able to put on tape back then, and even more amazed at how all that can be made today in such a high quality of sound reproduction.

The Crusaders  -  Chain Reaction   MoFi Original Master Recordings.  Ordered this last week and it arrived today.  NM condition and a very fair price of $29

I'm heading to Mammoth Mountain in the morning.  My last hurrah for the ski season.  I'm pleasantly surprised there is enough snow on the upper mountain to still be skiing.  Only good through the end of May, though.  Have a good time spinning vinyl.

Hey I remember those phones. We had the standard black color

The Golden Palominos / ST

Currently listening to Savoy Brown-Jack the Toad

Well, I be blowed! 👌

@dayglow I listened to Dokken a lot back in the day, but I don't think I've ever heard that live album before.  Good stuff!

@slaw @boxer12  +1 for Smog

Starting the evening off with this one.

We’ll see where it goes from there..

Seite 1): Moderate / Sonata For Flute, Violin And Piano. Alexandre Magnin, flute / Ralf Gothóni, piano / Philipp Naegele, violin. Da Camera Magna 1977, German release

Neil Young "Harvest Moon"

2017/dbl lp pressing .

Superior to the earlier single lp EU version, which I own

Tim,

Smog is Bill Callahan. Think you’ll like them.

Smog's first few lps we're Bill solo to minimal accompanyment

Steve, I agree that Jason had a knack for putting out very "real"  sounding records. Not familiar with Smog but I'll check them out.

Grateful Dead / Workingman's Dead

Sarah Shook & The Disarmers "Nightroamer"

2022/Thirty Tigers

Highly recommended!!

I think I have all her stuff on vinyl now

It’s amazing how well recorded most of Jason’s albums are Tim. Of course you get the warts and all. I always hear a ceiling fan in at least one record.

Feel the same for Smog lps.

James, Thanks for the response on "Snow Goose". I agree with both you & Joel in that the prior (to 2013) recording was so-so. The music is incredible though!

Songs Ohia: Ghost Tropics

This album is recorded so well. I doubt it's a first pressing, but close.

I’ve got two sets of Nobsound aluminium springs in now.. Gonna try them between the mono amps and their Symposium platforms next weekend.

....and the beat goes on....

Sturgill Simpson "Dood & Juanita"

2021/Thirty Tigers

Highly recommended!!

The Art Pepper album is the one RSD title I let get away from me. I didn’t want to pay the in- groove’s high shipping.

Wolfgang Sawallisch conducts Schubert - The Complete Symphonies. Staatskapelle Dresden. Philips 5LP box 1978, European release

Going to start from the beginning, not sure where I’ll land.

@spiritofradio - the Art Pepper album is great! I was not familiar w his work and this record has made me a fan.  The band is incredible and Bernie Grundman’s mastering is top notch.  HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Amos Lee "My New Moon"

2018/Dualtone

Flag Day soundtrack is highly recommended!

Szell conducts Bruckner - Symphony No. 3 In D Minor. The Cleveland Orchestra. Columbia Masterworks 1966
