@slaw

Steve, that is my first Arlo LP I ever bought, and may be my favorite.

Man, it sounded really great.

Mark Knopfler "The Ragpicker’s Dream"

2021/ Warner/ box

..."tonight we’ll drink the ole town dry

keep our spirit levels high"...

So far, this Mark Knopfler box set is impressing me. The vinyl is so far very quiet and SQ great!

Mark Knopfler "Sailing to Philadelphia"

2021/Warner box

...."shoulders for pillows

lay down your head and dream".....

Some good American roots music on this 4th of July weekend.

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - Will the Circle be Unbroken. United Artists 3LP gatefold  1972

Of Monsters and Men "Fever Dream"

2019/Republic Records

Clear vinyl w/pink splatter

Just listening to Munch conducting “Daphnis and Chloe”.
Wow!  Never really heard it before with my old preamp.

Szell conducts Sibelius - Symphony No. 2. Concertgebouw

That’s like your personal musical version of Charlie’s Angels!

😁 That, IMO, is the best recorded and performed Sibelius No. 2 Spencer. Also a great LP to check out the new PC’s. A great recording for 1965, but not ‘perfect’, (like, let’s say, compared to Ray Brown’s Soular Energy), so any differences could be exposed. And it did just that. Immediately sounded more detailed and refined vs the slight veiled presentation with my old PC’s. Well, I guess it’s not quite as veiled as I thought actually. Fun with cables.

Looking forward to more improvements while burning in.

Been sampling lots of Qobuz stuff the last few days, many based on suggestions from many here:

Joan Shelley (The Spur, S/T, Like The River Loves The Sea)

Father John Misty (Chloe, God's Favorite Customer)

Sarah Jarosz (Blue Heron Suite)

Joss Stone (Soul Sessions Vol2)

Flaming Groovies (Shake Some Action)

Brian Jackson (This is...)

Jack Johnson (Meet The Moonlight)

Strand of Oaks (In Heaven)

Danish String Qrt. (Wood Works)

It's a vinyl-cleaning morning here w/ fresh LRS pickups jumping out of their jackets!

Well this was on last night , July 1st is to  Canada   what 4th of July is to us,

I'm in my 80's and have lived all life in states  that border Canada, and I  have

a great respect for our neighbors to the North . the music is O'Canada , the National Anthem , at first are thoughts of the O'Canada in  , then anthem sung in

Native Indian then French and at last in English , it's all beautiful !

Just got a new phono preamp today: Sutherland 20/20. Blown away by it. Listening to some of my favorite records and it’s like hearing them for the first time. Among others, played Debussy Nocturnes with Bernard Haitink and the Concertgebouw Orchestra from 1981. Magical!

@tgilb

+1 Benefit

I’m looking forward to the Thick As reissue, my copy’s running some mileage. I hope they get it right. That Steven Wilson Aqualung re, they got it right.

@bslon

+1 on Thick As A Brick

I had just played my early Reprise Records copy and thought the SQ was excellent and it has held up well over the years with minimal noise.

I noticed there is a 50th anniversary version coming out but I'm skeptical that it won't match up to the original pressings. I'll wait for some reviews.

Brasil 66  " Stillness "

A & M  Japanese pressing

All the Brasil 66 albums have fantastic recording engineering , it's fortunate that 3 of their releases were pressed by Speakers Corner .

I'm not complaining Brian, the Noteworthy's are wonderful. I do wish I could have heard them though.

That’s too bad Steve. Wonder what his reasoning is. I believe his plugs are Furutech, but he brands them.

I emailed him about it and his response was he didn't offer them, Brian.
