Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1

Colter Wall - Songs of the Plains - excellent

Paul Simon - There goes Rhymin Simon

Oh no I am old enough to know good music that all. Well what I think is good music.

Cheers.

Siegfried Landau conducts

  • Balakirev - Piano Concerto In E-Flat Major
  • Lyapunov - Rhapsody On Themes From The Ukraine For Piano & Orchestra, Op. 28

Westphalian Symphony Orchestra w/Michael Ponti, piano
Turnabout 1977

Deep Purple: Machine Head

Now I am digging in to my long deceased uncles record collection. FUN!

@slaw  Now your messing with......Great album man love Nazareth. brings back middle school memories. Okay 5th grade.

Feeling nostalgic and feisty...

Nazareth "Hair of the Dog"

A&M Records/my safety copy

Hey @juanmanuelfangioii ,

Whew! It's exhausting writing out your username..

Saw them live, haven’t listened in a while.

Evgeni Svetlanov conducts Borodin - In The Steppes Of Central Asia / Symphony No. 2 In B Minor, Op. 5 / Polovtsky March From "Prince Igor". U.S.S.R. Symphony Orchestra. Melodiya/Angel 1968

Steely Dan - Everything Must Go - AP 45rpm - pretty sure this bests the RSD version by a good amount

Frank Black & The Catholics "Black Letter Days"

2022/Demon Records/Complete Studio Albums box

Clear vinyl

I use to think the same thing when I would watch their videos @6t5-gto and then there's Greg Hawkes. Foget a bout it.

Gennadi Rozhdestvensky conducts Shostakovich - Scherzo For Symphony Orchestra In F Sharp Minor, Op. 1 / Theme And Variations For Symphony Orchestra In B Flat Major, Op. 3 / Scherzo For Symphony Orchestra In E Flat Major, Op. 7 / ‘All Alone’, A Suite Of Music To A Film, Op. 26 / Six Romances To Lyrics Of Japanese Poets, Op. 21. Soloists Ensemble of the USSR Symphony Orchestra & The USSR Ministry Of Culture Orchestra. Мелодия 1983, USSR release

The Cars - S/T - Mofi - OK, Elliot Easton easily the most underrated guitar player of all time. The guy is utterly brilliant. Brilliant I say

Willie Nelson - Yesterday's Wine - Speakers Corner - hot damn I love Willie Nelson and Speakers Corner - killer pressing

AL DeMiola - Saturday in San Francisco - Impex - maybe better than Friday Night?

The Byrd’s "Fifth Dimension"

Sundazed/mono/"cut from the original Columbia Records analog masters"

Eight Miles High really has great bass, so it does on the Untitled album as well.

Steely Dan - Two Against Nature - AP 45rpm - I will have to do a shootout at some point with my RSD release but this one is killer. If only their whole catalog was recorded half as well as this record. Stupid good recording

@reubent i can't get past the scene in "shaun of the dead" where they hurl "second coming" at the zombies.

my pick for the week: andrew hill, "judgment"--not the flashiest or the most innovative, but in his own understated way he might be the best ever.

Bad Company / Run With The Pack
1976 Swan Song

Got stuck on Bad Company this evening, dig the band and Paul Rogers’ vocals. Great SQ going on, too.

As of now, a reference guide to a piece of equipment and my destat device....

On the dust cover, natch....

The second one, ennui.

The third yearns to be put back together....I tease it relentlessly.....

Why are you here?

Enjoy the DAC, truly and honestly.  But no reason to toss your analog front-end and vinyl collection.  And no reason to stick your thumb up at us, either🤷‍♂️.

Nothing On My TurnTable Tonight i just Purchased i very hi end COS  DAC  Blows my 20k TT  Away  RIP

After watching a few YouTube vids of Joni at Newport recently….time to go way back…

Joni Mitchell - Live At Canterbury House - 1967. Rhino 3LP gatefold 2020

Hey Steve, I also have Broken Heart.  I'll have to pull that one out and play it soon, too.  It's a great album, as I recall.

Hey Joel,

I love The Baby's. I always pull out Broken Heart. I think they were a little edgier on that one.

The Beatles  -  Revolver   An issue from around 1970.  Cleaned it up and considering how many times it was on a console stereo it isn't too bad. Superb music.

The Babys  -  Head First   An often overlooked late 70s band.

The Cars  -  The Cars   Nautilus reissue; a great debut album, for sure.

Gino Vannelli  -  Powerful People   MoFi Original Master Recording.  Awesome album, so very entertaining.  And this is from when MoFi only did it with master tapes😋

@jek05 ,

Welcome to this thread. There are a few here who have remarked on "Live at Leeds " Abbey Road but don’t recall anyone mentioning Tommy. Check out youtube, 45RPMAudiophile’ channel. He recently talked about it.

Golden Earring - Moontan.  This is the Music On Vinyl turquoise RSD limited edition.  It sounds really good for MOV and being on colored vinyl.  More dynamic than the 1974 MCA reissue I listened to yesterday and the vinyl is super quiet.  The songs are also in their original order, whereas the MCA reissue has different songs (from this version and the original) on it.

Correction.  Bette St. Claire-At Basin Street East was released in 1960 on Seeco CELP 4560(stereo) CELP 456(mono). The 1987 repress(Spain) played last night on Fresh Sound Records FSR 553. Just want to get the facts straight unlike Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab!

David Bowie / Changesonebowie
1976 RCA

Nice song selections, great SQ

The Fabulous Thunderbirds-Hot Number Side 2

Fritz Reiner-Great Music Of Spain(RCA Gold Seal AGL-1 1332) Side A

Yes-Fragile Side 2 SQ Audiophile

Ricky Skaggs-Comin’ Home To Stay Side 1

Shirley Jones-Always In The Mood Side 2

Jazz Super Hits Vol.2(VA SD 1559) Side 1

Crosby Nash-Live Side B SQ Audiophile

Bette St. Claire-At Basin Street East(1987 repress CELP 4560) Side 2

Reality strikes with only 2/8 Audiophile SQ recordings tonight. Nash/Crosby great live recording with Audiophile SQ that is almost forgotten. I purchased it on a hunch after hearing a few Youtube vids. Really enjoyed Bette St. Claire like to find an original 1958 Stereo pressing. YES-Yes takes the SQ crown clearly a Top 50 pop/rock recording of the 1970’s.
