It’s Australian bands playing tonight, great music, fun stuff!

Paul Kelly And The Messengers / Gossip
1987 A&M

Standout content and SQ, a great record.

Midnight Oil / Blue Sky Mining

A nice follow-up to Diesel and Dust. My son texted me tonight he was playing some Midnight Oil, great idea Ryan!

Awesome record, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good to hear Spencer! I don't think I've purchased anything defective from them. It's good to hear that they have good customer service when needed.

Thanks, @big_greg for the PlaidRoomRecords recommendation. My copy of this was defective and they replaced in like 4 days including shipping. Fantastic unusual album!

Just arrived. It's a good one, AAA cut by Ryan K. Smith @ Sterling.
An easy to love, adopted hometown hero. Probably the next statue downtown after Stevie Ray & Willie.

@noromance how's the SQ on First Aid Kit – The Big Black & The Blue (Wichita 2010), think it's worthwhile over the digital?

Garbage - S/T. One of my favorite albums. This is the first time I've heard it on vinyl. This is a 45 RPM two disc copy and sounds great so far.

Moby - S/T. I'm questioning why I bought this. The sound quality is pretty good but it's very generic electronic music.

Last Night:

Loreena McKennitt - An Ancient Muse
The Perth County Conspiracy - Does Not Exist
Laurie Anderson- Home of the Brave
Loreena McKennitt - Troubadours on the Rhine
Aphrodite’s Child - 666
Dead Can Dance - Spirit Chaser

Paolo Nutini - "Last Night in the Bittersweet"

Just arrived today from the UK after being ordered nearly a month ago.

Brahms-Symphony No.2(Seraphim S-60083) Side 2 SQ Audiophile

Beatles-Sgt. Pepper’s(Capitol/rainbow/stereo/paper cutout SMAS 2653) Side 1 & 2

Hall & Oates- Live At The Apollo-Side 1

Outlaws-ST Side 2

McCoy Tyner-Atlantis Side 3

Toto-Past To Present 1977-1990 Side 2

Ratt-Out Of The Cellar Side 1

Tom Scott-Street Beat Side 1 SQ Audiophile

My wife wanted to hear Sgt. Pep. in entirety. Was disappointed in the SQ of Toto(77-90) since it was a 1991 release little effort was given on the vinyl side. Street Beat was the SQ champ with top level content. If you enjoy fusion jazz this is a must have.

Go for it, Steve. I'd retire tomorrow but property tax and health insurance prohibit that. Friends in Europe are retired already as they don't have those expenses :-(

Steve, try playing permanent hookie.  In other words, retiring from the workforce.  I was fortunate enough to be able to do that at 63.8 years of age (4 years ago).  Life is too short; I went through several injuries and rehabs and work was just getting in the way of living.  It was time for more skiing, hiking, fishing, and assembling the best high-fidelity system of my life.

That's my story and I am sticking to it!

I’m considering playing hookie from work tomorrow. I’m 63 . This is the effect music should have on us!

Hey Joel,

There's no one here that will doubt you on Basie's , Pablo releases.

Been listening to Cowboy Junkies a while. Have the op and "revisited". Enjoy both.

Mozart, Violin Concertos K.216 in G Major / K.218 in D Major, Iona Brown, Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields (Argo 1980)

Been playing this a few times recently. It's perfect.

Some albums are just meant to be played loud.  Some are meant to be played even louder😃  Unfortunately some recordings (poor SQ) require that you play them not so loud.

Count Basie  -  Basie Jam   I have all 3 of the Basie Jam series.  Haven't listened to this first one in a while.  It's awesome!

Cowboy Junkies  -  The Trinity Session   Got this two weeks ago, this is the second time to listen to it.  Really a great sonic experience and really a cool band.

Steely Dan  -  Two Against Nature   The new AP/QRP 45rpm issue.  All of Steely Dan music ranges from very good to fabulous.  This album is one of their better overall albums, musically, IMO.  The sound quality of this issue, however, is absolutely over the top.  It makes you grateful for having invested so much into an analog front end.  This is a go-to album and issue for showing someone just what your system has to offer.  Most highly recommended.  Still available at Acoustic Sound website.

Giving this another spin. Wasn't impressed with the content on first listen.
