Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1

Genesis – Selling England By The Pound (Atlantic 1973 RE 1981 Canada)

I don't remember the recording/pressing sounding this average.

@noromance

I heard some of it on YT. Sounds great. What's the vinyl like?

It’s really nice Brian. Didn’t clean mine first, as I was anxious to hear it. A slight bit of crackle between songs, but that may minimize further or go away after a cleaning.

I found a MINT copy of this LP a few weeks ago which didn’t break my monthly vinyl budget (much) and have been playing it a LOT.

My son, a multi-instrument musician and drummer (ahem) has also given a listen on several occasions despite it being “antique music.”

Here’s power.

Cat Stevens-Buddha And The Choclate Box Side 1 SQ Audiophile

Doris Day-The Love Album(Craft repress) Side 1

Thin Lizzy-Jailbreak Side B

Gino Vannelli-Brother To Brother Side 2 SQ Audiophile

Marcus Roberts-Deep In The Shed Side B

Goats head soup, original pressing from the day it was released.
I bought a box of 25 and gave them to my friends. I still have three sealed copies.

AC/DC-Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap Side 1

The Philadelphia Orchestra/Ormandy(MS 6081 6 Eye) Side 1 SQ Audiophile

Ray Charles/Cleo Laine-Porgy & Bess Side C SQ*

Played last night got distracted and failed to finish my playlist. Cat/Gino and Ormandy were all very close in SQ but I will give the edge to "Brother To Brother" due to the dynamics.

Bruce Springsteen-Born In The U.S.A. Side 1

Shooting Star-Hang On For Your Life Side 1

Bob Seger-Beautiful Loser Side 1

Henry Lee Summer-ST Side 1

Grand Funk Railroad-E Pluribus Funk Side 1

Michael Stanley Band-Heartland Side 1

Cheap Trick-Heaven Tonight(2013 Repress) Side 1

John Cougar Mellencamp-The Lonesome Jubilee Side 1 SQ*

Thought "Heartland" Pop/Rock would be an honorable tribute on Memorial Day. Nothing had remarkable SQ but no recording did disservice to the music. IMO Mellencamp had the best SQ but excessive treble energy kept it from Audiophile status.

Stone Temple Pilots "Core"

Atlantic 75 series/45RPM/Acoustic Sounds

David Crosby "If I Could Only Remember My Name"

Atlantic 75 series/45RPM/Acoustic Sounds

Art Farmer-To Duke With Love Side 2 SQ*

Bob Dylan-Bringing It All Back Home(2021 Repress) Side 2

Loudness-Thunder In The East Side 1

Maggie Rogers-Heard It In A Past Life Side A

Bill Evans-At Shelly's Manne-Hole(Repress() Side 2

Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66-ST Side 2 SQ*

Willie Nelson-Shotgun Willie Side 2 SQ*

Micheal Franks-One Bad Habit Side 2 SQ*

None with Audiophile SQ status tonight but 4 near misses. I gave the edge to Franks over the other 3. Shotgun is clearly worth an Atlantic 75 pre-order. mine will be placed in the very near future. Don't sleep on Brasil 66(any album) that could be in the budget bins.
