Sort of interesting. I was not aware that plywood of the body is considered "solid wood". Better than MDF, but I would not call it that. The front plate appears to be solid. I also thought that tweeters should be at ear level, but with the short floor standers that is not the case. Spec sheet only available with providing e-mail? Hmmm ...

I would love to hear them ... I bet Bose would be interested

Re comments above about the drive unit. The Purifi drive unit is a fairly recent development - and the crinkly surround is a major part of the design. Thrax aso use it and I expect you will see it becoming a lot more common.

@ibmjunkman ...there's a pic of a woofer with a contorted surround which would imply being driven, yes.  The 'bulges' @ 90 deg. to each other is a dead giveaway....
High-speed cams are fun for that...;)

Are the speakers being driven while photographed? I have never seen a surround look like that.
