Upscale Audio is up front with customers


I have not bought from Upscale before but have enjoyed their videos. The approach Kevin Deal is taking with his customers is really up front and honest. A good model for how to communicate in audio, and in general.

I've had a few dealings with Kevin and he has always steered me in the right direction. I did have a major problem with a defective item and he took care of it right away and with no hassle. 

I've had great interactions over the phone, but arrogance once at Axpona.....but that was around the whole Fyne Audio/Tannoy situation, so maybe understandable

I purchased a sub from them about a year ago. Great customer service and very pleasant transaction. I really enjoy their videos and Kevin has a great business model, he’s just up front and low pressure. I’ll definitely be doing business with them in the future. 

@2psyop Yeah we lost your cartridge. So sorry. I think the one we replaced it with was a lot newer and maybe $400 more expensive because of it. Right after we told you we would replace it, we found the old one. I didn't want to back-peddle. An employee’s wife went into labor with their first child and he put it in his desk. A young first-time dad messed up. So long as you are happy.

The video was done to simply let people know that there are substantial increases. I’ve heard the voices of disappointed people before, and it just happened to me when booking airfare. Within minutes, hundreds of dollars were gone.

Thanks for all the kind words. I don’t get to help customers as much as I like. So I hire people better than I am, and have no problem saying that. Two degreed Electrical Engineers, ex-factory employees and reps from Sumiko, Pro-Ject, Clearaudio, Avantgarde, VPI, MartinLogan, Auralic, Ayre Acoustics and others. We have a good time with our customers whom we consider friends

 

 

Purchased my VPI/Hana/Sutherland 6 years ago, and 6 sets of tubes over the last 10 years, all with great results. 2 years ago an led on the Sutherland failed( nothing else, just the light ) so I contacted Upscale. Upscale got a hold of Sutherland, who sent me four amber replacements, at no cost. Cheers Upscale!

I've only had positive experiences with Mr. Deal and his sales associates.  I've purchased NOS tubes and some items.  I've asked concerning higher end speakers and cartridges.  Always received reasoned answers.  Upscale is upscale in fact of customer service and products that usually provide musical enjoyment, often at very reasonable prices.

Uncle Kev, hey man I am happy with the turntable I bought from Upscale and the cartridge. It sounds stellar and I am getting in some good listening sessions. I really do think you guys do a bang up job (even though I have never been to your store). I understand things happen and you guys provided excellent customer service to me. Don’t just take my word on it just look at the majority of the comments here. Thanks to your sales dept, analog dept and even to the guy whose wife had the baby.... that’s what life is about. Most importantly, you have built a great business and I am sure you should stand back and see what you have done over many, many years by providing quality gear for musical enjoyment and sound advice. That’s very cool....
