Tyler Acoustic speakers

What model do you have/had, what are you driving them with, and how do/did you like them?

T1 and T2 has always intrigue me.  Should I let my Elac Vela 403 goes, I would try the T1 next.

This thread is pretty old, but for what it's worth, I went down to Ty's shop about a year and a half ago to pick up the Highland H3.5's I ordered. I live within a couple of hours and I wanted to meet him and see his shop. He is a great guy and he builds the cabinets himself in Owensboro. He showed me the crossovers that were used and how he wires them. We talked for about an hour on several subjects including the upcoming release of the T2 floor standers. He had a pair in process while I was there along with several T1's. He has learned a lot about speaker design through the years and you can hear the difference. I couldn't be happier with my H3.5's! Great bass response, sweet midrange and the highs are not harsh at all. I power them with a Hegel H390 and use the internal DAC being fed by a Jay's Audio CDT2 MK3.  I replaced my Focal Aria 936's with these and the H3.5's are definitely an upgrade!

I own a pair of Tyler Acoustics D10 speakers which have been doing main duty in my living room for years. I can’t say enough about these speakers or the support from Ty. I can’t recommend Tyler Acoustics enough.

The T2 looks very promising.

Now what we need is a shootout between it and the Philharmonic BMR tower.

(hint, hint)

I just purchased the new Tyler T2 floorstanders.  The same exact model that Danny showed in his video. I'm very excited for these loudspeakers!  I will keep you posted when they arrive and I've had some spins on them.

I thought about the Tyler at one time. Then had the opportunity to hear the Sonner Acoustics Legato Unum and that was that.

The Tyler’s are nice and yes I did have a chance to hear them at a friends in Nashville with similar amplification.

I think these would be a good choice the T1 that is. The Legato’s really connected with me at an emotional level and I love their aesthetics.

It’s been a long time - over 15 years. I had the Tyler Taylo Ref Monitors, twice. REALLY liked those. Sweet midrange, large soundstage, sparkling treble, good detail. Bass extension sucked, as to be expected for a monitor of that size - which affected some music more than others. All in all, a gem of a speaker and an amazing deal for the money. I wouldn’t mind still having those.

Then I tried Linbrook Signature Monitors, hoping to get the Taylo sound with better bass extension. That’s NOT what I got. The Linbrooks sounded muddy, awkward, and uninspiring by comparison. No trace of the Taylo’s lovely clarity. Such a disappointment. I think I tolerated them for like a week in my main system, and that was generous. I probably should have tried a Tyler floorstander. But those Linbrooks spelled the end of my Tyler Acoustics experiences.

Reading others’ Linbrook experiences doesn’t really match up with mine. So maybe those monitors were tuned differently - if it was an attempt to fill in the bass, it was misguided.

I have Halo Extreme  with upgrade crossover and Seas millennium tweeters. They sound fantastic. Crystal clear and great mid range.  Large Soundstage and perfect center. I'm using 2 Prima Luna Evo 400 amps to run the tweeters and mids. 2PS Audio 1200m monoblocks running the 8 12in woofers. Soon I will be changing the woofers to more efficient and powerful ones. The stock are a little weak. Overall money well spent.

Thanks Doyle. I spoke with Tyler today and might pull the trigger soon on a pair of T1s. I also have Rogue gear (Sphinx V3) and am also getting a pair of REL T5x subs.

I have a pair of T1 timekeepers and I totally enjoy them. I am driving them with a rogue Atlas 3 magnum and Rogue RP1. It seems to be a very nice combination. The Tylers are very musical, super easy to live with. I am experiencing no fatigue. (I was with the prior pair of speakers, Klipsch Heresy 4's. While very detailed and dynamic, they wore me down after a half hour).

The Tylers have a nice soundstage, wide and deep. Decent low end for stand mounts, however I do use an SVS PB2000. I bought the dedicated stands from Ty, he made them for me to the height I wanted. My listening room is 12x15, concrete floor with mild foam treatment. I am very satisfied and would buy them all over again.

I owned a pair of Linbrook Super Towers about 10 years ago. I liked them quite a bit. It has been too long ago to say much specific about them. Drove them with a Pass X150.5 and BAT VK-31 if memory serves. I have heard the Woodmeres, most of the original Decade line, one of the PD line, and the Highland H2, H3, and H4 at various shows over the years. The Highland line is the only current model I have listened to. I would take the Highland over any of the other models I have heard.

Thanks, guys.

Geez, I thought there would be many more responses. They're pretty popular speakers...

I have the Woodmere II, I bought them used from Ty in 2016. I run them with a Modwright KWH 225i.I am currently considering something different only because I've had these so long and would like to try something else. Overall I have been extremely happy with them. They are rather huge is only real complaint, but that was obvious when I bought them. They were a very significant step up from my previous Paradigm Monitor 11 V2. Completely different league.
