Esoteric K03XD filters
@tomcy6  I’ve heard it takes 200 hours per filter to burn them in. It’s going to be a long enjoyable process!
New Esoteric K-03XD
I recently purchased a K03xd and I’ve tried several combinations of filter settings. I’m settling on 4fs and M1. That may change as it burns in.
Does other Audiogon members' opinion carry any weight for you ?
There are a few who have responded to this post that I enjoy reading what they have to say and many others who I never see on here any more. I am not highly technical and I enjoy learning about the nuances of this hobby. I’ve used some advice from...
Anyone upgrade from Jays CDT2MK3 to CDT3MK3?
@stuartk  I will let you know how it turns out. I have exchanged a few emails with Alvin and Todd.
Anyone upgrade from Jays CDT2MK3 to CDT3MK3?
@stuartk  The CDT2MKIII never gave me any problems. I hope the issue with the CDT3 MKIII is resolved and hope that I am not sorry I sold my CDT2.   I have reached out to Todd and Alvin.
Anyone upgrade from Jays CDT2MK3 to CDT3MK3?
@mksun  I’m not saying it isn’t better yet. I only have a few hours listening and when I have listened, I’m not in the right mind because I’m anticipating a skip. I haven’t had a chance to relax and listen. I do believe there is more bass present ...
Anyone upgrade from Jays CDT2MK3 to CDT3MK3?
@mksun  I haven’t really had a chance to listen to it enough to tell. There is definitely more bass response. The new CDs I’ve listened to sounded very good, but I’m not ready to say it’s better.
Anyone upgrade from Jays CDT2MK3 to CDT3MK3?
@bolong Since you have both units, please answer this question. When you are finished playing a CD on the CDT3 MK3, do you remove the CD and then place the stabilizer back on the platter? When I do that, I close the lid and I can hear the laser ru...
Anyone upgrade from Jays CDT2MK3 to CDT3MK3?
Yes, that could be some of it.  The CDT3 is 2500.00 more than the CDT2. I wouldn’t expect it to make three quarters of my CDs useless. I sold my CDT2 too quick I think. stereophile magazine had a review that stated the CDT3 did very well when tes...
Room treatment can be addictive
I started with blankets and pillows, then homemade rockwool and then bought my first GIK panels and the WOW factor kicked in. I sent my room information to Mike and purchased every panel he recommended. I am so happy I made that decision!
Drinking Songs playlest... What am I missing?
Jimmy Buffett  Let's Get Drunk and Screw!
Anyone listen to entire albums?
I listen to CDs exclusively and I almost always listen to the whole album. I was a greatest hits fan, but after learning they are usually heavily compressed, I started buying the artist’s albums with the best dynamic range and I have been enjoying...
Townshend Isolation Products.
My Townshend Seismic podiums under my speakers are the best tweak I have added to my system. The improvement was very noticeable. Bass tighter and mid range was also improved.
Music first or sound first?
I started out listening to the sound until I got my system where I wanted it. Now it’s all about the music.
The Midnight Effect - Who-How?
My favorite listening time is late at night when it’s snowing outside. Ambient noise drops to very low levels and it is very noticeable. I’ve heard the like a switch being flipped effect you’re speaking of without snow, but the ambient noise reduc...
