The Orb......Metallic Spheres

Thanks, this is interesting. Plenty of bass for sure. Wish my main system did depth better but I think room issues (symmetry problems due to open doorways on one side) are the main cause. I've given up obsessing about it and just enjoy what I have. Since I've had Tidal I love using their 'Explore' option and listening to artists I've never heard of, Charles Lloyd as an example. I very much disagree with those who say no good music is being made these days.  

The Orb is cool, but probably not for the masses.  I have a few of their recordings and just picked up a few of their CD's on my last trip to the record store.  It's been a while since I listened to this one.

I’m about 3 minutes into Metallic Spheres. I will definitely be listening to it in it’s entirety. Very cool! 

I listened to it at work yesterday.  Played at fairly low volume and my office system is not the best setup for bass, soundstage, etc.  I played a few minutes of it on my system last night and the house started shaking.  I better play that one a little earlier in the day so as not to upset the neighbors.

The Orb's Adventures beyond the Ultraworld was a game changer for me back in the 90's. Opened the door to Underworld, Roald Velden, and others.

@tuberist    I had not tried Shpongle until now. I listened to a couple of cuts on Youtube. Very similar style to The Orb. Thanks for mentioning them!

Funny I just heard this for the first time. It's definitely a good companion piece to roger waters amused to death.
