Roon question -- Android tablet working as Roon Remote can't find Roon Core each morning
Hello I am hoping to get the help of experienced Roon users here. I am trying Roon and am enjoying it but there is this repeating problem I am running into with the remote tablet losing connection to the Nucleus/core machine each morning.
I have a Roon Nucleus as my Core machine. The Nucleus and an Innuos Zen Mini working as the streamer/DAC are connected via LAN through a local network switch (a Trendnet unmanaged 4 port switch sitting next to the Nucleus and Zen Mini). I have an Eero wifi pod set running the wifi signal through the house, and an Eero pod brings the LAN jack into my listening room from the Comcast cable modem and router in another part of the house (I don’t have Ethernet hardwired into my listening space, it is an older house).
My Samsung Note Android tablet serves as the remote controller and of course it is connected via wifi served up by the Eero pods and the Comcast router.
Everything seems to work well, all stays connected when listening to music each day. Only problem is many mornings (say 3-4 mornings a week), when I try to listen to music in the am, the Android tablet/Roon remote controller says ’there is a problem, can’t find Roon Core’.
What I then have had to do is power down (unplug) and then restart the main Comcast cable modem/router, and then, when it re-establishes its internet signal from the cable feed, all works again - the tablet sees the Core and shows Roon.
I sometimes leave music playing softly overnight, the music still plays on the system, so the Core and Innuos streamer never seems to lose the internet connection, just seems that the Remote tablet does, it gets disconnected from the Core/Nucleus.
Can someone explain to me what is happening here, and what I can do to fix it?
I am not a wifi or networking expert (don’t really understand IP addresses and so on, I have read some can be fixed but some are assigned by the router for connected equipment and can change on its own) so I can use some help.
