Roger Miller anyone?

I liked it as a kid. Pretty catchy tunes.

Loved him as a kid.   Need to revisit.  Some nice recordings for a nice hifi I suspect.

I understand the sentiment that he made catchy songs, but not all are in that genre (but I, for one, appreciate and love them).

One Dyin’ And A Buryin’ and That’a Boy Girl are examples. Okay, That’a Boy is on the border. But One Dying, that’s such a great one. I think, of course.

Plus they sound so effing great.

I don't love his music but I don't think it's crap, either. I always enjoyed him when I was a lot younger; haven't even thought about him in decades. 

My uncle used to love me but she bought it.

I fell asleep to his Top 40 stuff when I was 10. Other than that, no.

On reading this post, just listened to Roger Miller Roger Miller 74 release on Qobuz. I was pleasantly surprised at the fidelity of the recording. Interesting that the album is 19 minutes and there are 10 songs. Definitely catchy for catchy sake, the way of AM radio for that era. For me, a worthwhile listen, but I am not going to go any deeper into his collection. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Enjoy. 

A fan here for sure, classic.  As a kid growing up in the 60's frequently heard Roger on am radio and tv programs and as I've gotten older I have a real appreciation for him and other similar 60's Nashville sound artists of that era.  Sad that cigs/cancer took him out at 56.

I grew up listening to his music, I like it. My dad liked it so much, he built a stereo to play his records. That got me started into this audio lifestyle. Thanks Roger Miller!

I remember King of the Road and Dang Me when I was a kid. Those were very popular then.

I took his advice and never attempted skating in a buffalo herd.All I remember is his novelty songs.Probably have a couple of 45s stowed away:-)

I’m a fan.  Some good songs in Big River.

Also check out O’Brien Party of 7’s “Reincarnation” a tribute album of Roger Miller songs.  (Party of 7 is named for Tim O’Brien and his family).
