Sounds interesting. I’ve been reading some and focusing more on the best type of copper. After lusting after some upper level Storm series from AQ, I’ve decided to try a company called Ludic. They use OCC copper w/Teflon dielectric and offer these in 1 M for a very reasonable price. In transit.
Yes. I have been using and dealing with Quicksilver for years. A synergistic master ac coupler is about the best. You canak3 these yourself with no soldering. It consists on two runs of a heavy belden coax with the braids joined and connected to the third pin
I bought them straight from neotech in Taiwan, send me an email because I don't have the contact information on hand right now to my email address at urbie19@hotmail.com and I'll send you her contact information.
@zuesmanwhere did you buy your NEOTECH cables? I can find the main site with some good info, but the dealer network is kind of a dead end, and google did not come up with much. Mostly bulk wire, not sure I want to spend that kind of time and money on DIY cables.
I ran my balanced V4’s for years using a set of Kimber power cords. They were relatively inexpensive but were eventually discontinued because they weren’t UL certified. I tried a few other cords on them but stayed with the Kimbers anyway. Though I no longer have the V4’s I still use the cords. You might want to check with John Rutan at the Audio Connection as he is a Quicksilver dealer and still has some V4’s on his demo floor.
if I remember correctly the only other cords I liked on the V4’s were made by Tara Labs. Good Luck!
@slaw I get it you’re looking for feedback from people who own or owned your amp. But one thing you have to realize that the same power cord on the same amp in two different systems in two different rooms will sound completely different. And on top of it, personal preference for specific type of sound will come into play.
So the feedback from owners is merely a guideline, nothing else. Might as well just welcome opinions from other experienced audiophiles who can recommend a nice power cable
Ignore the cotton ear ASR minions. Use everyone else’s feedback and filter it.
if you don't think there's any difference between power cords interconnects and speaker wire then maybe this isn't the form for you and you should probably buy some better equipment where you can hear the difference.
Good choice Clarus uses OCC single crystal wire which is far superior to anything OFC at any price, Neotech is even better they make a rectangular OCC wire which is even better than the round OCC.
use any power chords that are OCC single crystal wire they are far superior to anything OFC at any price and the rectangular OCC single crystal is even better than the round OCC. look up a company called Neotech and in the right hand corner click on the three bars and then click on the rectangular cable it shows you all the construction of all their different rectangular OCC cables.
@slaw, I run PS Audio xStream Statement SC power cords on my Quicksilver M120 mono amps and really like the weight they bring to the music, have tried others but keep going back to the PS Audio. Hope this helps. Enjoy the music
