Power Cord Placement

Imagine the back panel of a high quality power amplifier or preamp.  Where's the inlet socket for the power cord?  Sometimes it's to the far left, sometimes to the far right, but what really annoys me is when the inlet is right in the middle.  I cannot think of a more difficult location when it comes to distancing power cables from audio cables.  It makes want to consider battery powered equipment!

I've never had a component with the power cord on the side, but I would think it would solve most of my objections.
An even bigger challenge for me is when the AC inlet is on the side of the component, for me that looks odd and I don't care for it.
Hi,
its nice to have the power inlet away from inputs and speaker output in a power amp. For preamps far left or right and away from inputs.

Now you know why Pink Floyd wrote Goodbye Cruel World.

Yes you can go battery. Go ahead. All in all its just another brick in the wall.
Yes, it’s tragedies like this that make you wonder if life is worth living...
#1stworldproblems :) But seriously it does depend on the design as stated above. I like the layout of my tube amp inputs front left corner, captive AC cable back left corner, binding posts center. I don't move or change things much so not as much a bother to me.
It is annoying when you to change your whole set up.The same with power cord lengths.
I actually prefer the center as wel.  Speaker connections far right and far left with inputs out of the way of everything as well
