Jeff Rowland Concentra one, a few years ago. |
original magnepan mg-II's. |
A pair of David Bernings AE 230's wired in mono! |
HOFNER 3/4 BASS. Thanks for reminding me! The sad story goes like this..... |
An old tube radio tuner, it was mono, and I wanted stereo, which prompted the sale. It sounded glorious. |
Micro Seiki BL-91. Great table, I had it for over 20 years. I should have kept it as a spare. |
Pair of Sequerra Met 7, Mk VI. |
Dokorder reel to reel. I get sick every time I think about it. |
Conrad Johnson MF2500A,,A few years ago,,,such a sweet and powerful amp! |
Sold my Rectilinear 3A speakers 34 years ago, still regret it. |
Vendetta Research SCP-2B John Curl designed phono pre amp and my Caravelle Monitor speaker and stands. Should have kept the first due to its collector's value and the second for a second system; Caravelle's are incredible monitors; never heard better! |
A pair BAT VK-120 monoblocks. |
B&K 200 mono amps for a song and I ain't dancing now..Goldmund studio TT and 3b arm... |
Krell Resolution 3 speakers. Fabulous imaging, smooth sound, great looks. It took me three years, and three sets of speakers, to find a replacement I liked as well. |
A pair of Chartwell LS3/5As. They were sweet. I sold them to get my first pair of Magnepans. |
A Rek-O-Kut B-12H TT I had when I was 15. I got it in the Pennysavers (shows how old I am now, eh?). I had never heard of it but my Dad said to grab it. Don't even remember what happened to it but it sounded great! I see them now for 1000 bucks. I think I paid about 50! |
Had a Classé DR3-VHC. Once a non-audio oriented friend thought it was a fireplace!!! LOL. Boy did it sound nice though. I know the new owner still has it. |
The only gear I regret selling was my very first transaction which put me on the path of Audiogon, etc. - a pair of ADS L810's in mint cond. However, I will give an honorable mention to a CAT Ultimate MkII with CD taper volume that I sold a couple of years ago. Honestly, I can live without either since the gear I have now makes the best music I have heard in my house. |
Not just a piece of gear but my entire house that contained the BEST sounding room I have ever had. I have never had another room come close to that. Early 80's, I had it made and haven't been able to get it back. |
Sold my Aesthetix Calypso with NOS tubes for $2300, only to buy the Signature version Calypso a few months later. |
I regeret selling a Threshold FET 10e. This preamp was far and away as good as an Audio Research Sp11 or 15. |
Nothing i know what im doing. |
I, too, had a Threshold FET 10/e preamplifier that I regret ever selling. I still use the matching phono preamplifier to great effect. |
Ebm, we should all feel like imbiciles in your company. You sound like a typical Brooklynite. |

I see little value in comparing the fine people of Brooklyn to a buffoon.
IMO |
Some of them do have this attitude; I know. However, some from the Upper East Side are no better, just different. |
Anyway. I upgrade very rarely, so no I have never sold any piece of equipment and regret it; I gave some of it away because it was old and had no real value. However, I have sold some LPs and CDs and regretted it later. They were back-up copies but still I should not have done it. |
Sonic frontiers Line 1 - a very nice tube preamplifier with superb build quality and the best, round, aluminum remote. |
Dealers not welcome Audiofeil you nasty man ! |
There is stuff i regret buying. |
>>Dealers not welcome Audiofeil you nasty man !<<
Speak for yourself buffoonmeister |
Sold my Nak tape deck a few yrs back. Hadn't used it in yrs but oddly enough, I regret selling it. Got the same thing going on with a Denon tuner sitting in my closet. Hasn't been used in yrs, but I still can't bring myself to pull the trigger! |
Ebm, you are a human being after all. Welcome. I too regret buing certain things. I should've waited and bought more serious analog front end in the first place instead of getting entry level to start with. Made no sense and I lost some money. The subject of dealers and manufacturers participating in this forum, openly or not, is a controversial one. I started the thread about it some time ago which did not get through the moderator. |

Lavardin IT, changed it for a Karan K180, not a patch on the Lavardin |
My TT. Not because it sounded so great when I had it on my then lo-lo-lo-fi system. But because had I kept it I'd have kept all of my albums. Had I done that, today I'd get a decent TT for my now hi-fi system. Dumping my albums for the panacea of CDs was THE biggest mistake of my audio life. |
Sold my Aesthetix Calypso with NOS tubes for $2300, only to buy the Signature version Calypso a few months later.
I did the same! It is a wonderful pre. Just wish it had a 12v trigger out. |
