^^^ I have a brother. He knows zero about Graphene. He seems to know a lot about everything else though. :-)

New Tweak --- Its Fantastic
Geoff we agree...wow. You see it and use it now and it was just the secret sauce before. Just found This as I was looking to see if graphene could be used as a substitute for copper in the making of circuit boards. Tom here is This.... https://www.pcbtrain.co.uk/blog/graphene-will-bring-world-electronics |
Graphene for audio applications is hardly new. Cerious graphene cables were introduced more than two years ago. That probably means they were under development for some time prior to that. Mad Scientist graphene contact enhancer came out when, a year ago? Nothing new under the sun. 🌞 How long stealth bombers and fighters have been using graphene is anybody’s guess. My guess is a very long time. |

In 1991 the US military used graphite dust particles as a cloaking material to reduce the detection of our invasion or a specific aspect. A similar dust particle was attached to a novel carrier system that was delivered by stealth aircraft to disrupt or destroy both the power grid and communications systems. This was documented in Iraq and Kosovo. Two reasons graphite was and is used by the defense industry is because of its electromagnetic properties and it’s superior electrical conduction properties. Now move 30 years forward we have nearly the same particle reapplied by companies such as Tesla in the making of batteries and the parent company of Clarity Cap in the making of Super Caps for electric vehicles. Super caps are soon to be used in audio. Again these materials have both superior conductive and shielding properties. There is a growing list of uses for graphite and now graphene for industrial and consumer use. Tim Mrock has added to that list with Total Contact. Tom |

Frank, didn’t you get the memo that the Tice Clock works?! Hel-loo! I know what you’re thinking, but I read it on an audio forum. 😛 It was just all-thumbs audiophiles who gave it a bad rap. Besides, the closets of audiophiles are filled with tweaks of yore that got replaced or got thumbs down. But that doesn’t mean the discarded tweaks don’t work. The Green Pen, VPI Brick, Shakti Stone, PWB silver rainbow foil, crystals, CD beveler, Mpingo disc. What have you. Audiophiles are a fickle group, always looking for the next bandwagon to jump on. Chasing the Dragon. 🦎 Looking for Audio Nirvana. 😛 Contact enhancers and aftermarket fuses are controversial tweaks, so Papa San should probably reconsider embracing the Tice Clock rather than disparaging it. We all hang together or we hang separately. 😬 In order to debunk something it must be bunk to begin with. - Old audiophile saw It’s getting harder and harder to tell the naysayers from the believers without a scorecard. What is the market for contact enhancers? Gotta be at least fifty. |
Can anyone rationally explain Shakti Hallographs or any number of small tuning devises from Harmonix, SR and the like? I can't but I believe in the reports of a large number of reputable people who say they use them and can hear a difference. And I do think there are scientific explanations for how they work even if I can't quite put my finger on it. Just like break in time on my tubed audio equipment. It should not exist, but it does and it is not my imagination that my system sounds better after about 1/2 hour, it's my ears. Frank is not a shill. Graphene is being used in loudspeaker drivers by Magico and cables by Bob Grost. There may be some merit to that use. There may also be some merit to nanoparticles in a paste form that cause a better connection between things that I use deoxIT to clean. I will probably pass on it because I'd rather keep the connections clean than put a substance between them to aid in conductivity. But I would not criticize anyone who thinks it may help with the sound of their system. If enough people rave, I might even give it a try myself. I love to hear about new tweaks that are not completely devoid of any potential scientific explanation. In this case, I am hard pressed to understand the criticism. |
I'm getting a real kick out of this thread (kind of sick that way). I'll give oregonpapa a lot of credit for taking the abuse he has (from the apparently well educated) so graciously. I'll hold off on buying this product until some more pioneers (non-engineers I suspect) try it & weigh in. thecarpashian " there MUST be a scientifically verifiable explanation and data as to why"... You would think so but apparently science has not in all cases caught up to our little hobby yet. Case in point / Aftermarket high quality Power cords & IC's make an audible improvement in sound quality. I've been told this simply can't be true because it can't be scientifically measured. My ears (& many others) strongly disagree. |
Wow. It’s only a couple of days into the new year and this thread promises to be epic. There's already one self-professed "song and dance man" here - that fellow who is channeling, wittingly or unwittingly, Mr. Zimmerman- let’s hear from some more. If this tweak does what OP purports it to do, count me in. It’s highly likely that the marketplace will rule. |
.....and another thing. :-) I work with engineers all the time that tell me what they want instead of allowing me to evaluate and they come off as being the experts. Well guess what? Once I start asking a few questions they scratch their head and admit that they never thought of that.....or they just get pissed off and won't respond because I just made them look like a dummy. Just because you have an engineering degree doesn't mean you know everything. I'm an expert in my field and see stupid things happen all the time......and I'm not an engineer. Now back to the music... |
I had to hit pause to respond to this thread. Can we please just look at this objectively? A couple of guys develop a new product and the beta testers tout its advantages. I say congratulations and good for them. But I'm not going to buy it until it proves itself in the marketplace. I know this is not what some may want to hear but that's what marketing is about. Why so much criticism? If you don't think it's a valid product then move on. If you do and want to try it then it will cost you $300.00. That's it! Take it or leave it or wait until you're convinced that it's a valid product that you really should try. I have been in sales for years and have told people that if you want your electrical connections (not audio products) to repel moisture and act as though moisture were not an issue then give the connection a short blast with LPS-1. It displaces water. You know what convinced me? A demo, where the Rep. placed a running drill motor that he was holding in his hands into a container full of water. The drill motor kept running and the Rep. didn't die. Believe me or not, that's a fact. There were maintenance people who actually jumped backward when they saw this demonstration (please don't do this at home). For you naysayers.....move on. So what if you think it's snake oil.....we don't care. For those promoting the product, don't argue with the naysayers because it makes you (and the product) look bad. In my mind the best way to market this product is to post a youtube video demonstrating how to apply it and the sonic benefits of it (not necessarily an audio demonstration because well, we know why). Perhaps then people will understand it better. All this bickering back and forth is completely useless and I can tell you that I wouldn't want my product discussed in this manner. I have been in sales for too many years and quite frankly based on this thread I would just walk away. Let's have some civility here. Graphene is becoming a very interesting product. I think it would benefit us all to learn more about its properties and benefits. We have certainly learned nothing from this thread other than this product will soon be available so please, let's move to a higher level here. Geez almighty already! Ok, now I'm hitting "play". |
^^^ Perhaps Geoffkait has turned the corner. He must have looked inward and became uncomfortable with his intent. If so, welcome back to the land of the living and the positive thinkers, Geoff. *lol* thecarpathian >>> Valid points. Tim is fully aware of this thread. I think he would agree with Geoff's last post. The release date for the product will be very soon, at which time I suspect that Tim will cover all of the bases to your satisfaction. Frank |
My advice to tweak manufacturers, never explain anything. It won’t help. It won’t stop the pseudo skeptics’ demands and whining, it will only encourage them. They don’t really care about the truth, anyway. Never give a sucker an even break or smarten up a chump. Do not (rpt not) feed the pseudo skeptics! 🍔 🍟 🍦 |
Well, before this degrades any further and someone gets pushed off the swings at recess, I believe I have a solution to all this back and forth...I find it curious and interesting that this thread has been raging for over a week now and nothing at all has been posted by the inventor himself, Mr. Tim Mrock. After all, he is a fellow member, and his product is taking quite a bashing by some posters. No one else has a more vested interest in this than he. Surely he can put a halt to all of this. He can answer any and all questions those of us might have, offering his insight as to how and why his product works as the users claim, without giving up any proprietary secrets. Surely he must know how it works. After all, he labored 15 years to perfect his formula. He can’t do that and not know every minute detail of the process of his invention. Perhaps he can share information on the several patents he holds that helped make his invention a reality. I’m not being glib, or facetious, I’m serious. It can only benefit him to bring the ’naysayers’ on board or silence them by explaining the product and process. By not chiming in, he’s missing out on a huge potential market, where his sales are likely to increase exponentially. Personally, I would like to know how it works, why it works, at what point did he decide to try graphene, what did he try prior to graphene, what does cryogenic treatment do to his product, what data can he show that his product does what is claimed, etc...I find these all to be fair and legitimate questions that only he can answer. Perhaps Frank or Tom can give him a heads up about what’s being debated and he will put this whole thread to rest. |
dynaquest44 ... Upset? What make you think I'm upset? Are you another genius who can tell what other's are feeling? Do you read minds? If so, you must have a degree in engineering too. You stated that the product is "over priced" and "without merit." How about doing everyone here a huge favor and post the in depth research you've done to arrive at those conclusions. Thanks ... shadrone ... After going to your systems page, I'll say this: Even though you have expensive equipment, I can honestly say that if I spent an afternoon tweaking your system, you'd be amazed. I'm basing this on the errors in the way you've set up your system and your room. You're missing half of the sound you've paid for. Wife problem, right shadrone? Again shadorne ... what is your intent here? Have you looked inward in an effort to discover it yet? There has to be a reason why you are so destructive and insulting in your comments. State it. State your intentions. Frank |
Frank is getting a little upset that any one calls him on a product that, in addition to being overpriced, appears to surely be without merit. Should he provide documentation relative to all the "
time, money and hard work spent to bring such a product to market" we might....I say again might...be better able to determine whether this product is the snake oil is appears to be. Surely someone (the manufacturer?) has research documentation that describes how this "paste" was formulated to mitigate all the micro-bursting going on at all my contact points, what the cost of production and marketing is and how he came to the retail price of $300.00. |
There is a simple solution to relieve the fears of the Nay-Sayers ... don't buy the product. Stay home. Let other's make their own decisions .... and you go about your destructive activities elsewhere. The free market will decide if Total Contact will be successful or not. For those who DO make the jump, they will find that all of the "hype" was the truth. Their positive experiences will be posted here and on other forums. Word of mouth will cause others to buy the product and success will be attained. That, of course, depends upon whether the consumers feel they got good results for the money spent, or even far surpassing the money spent. Conversely, if the product is bunk, it will fall out of favor (Tice Clock) and will be unsuccessful. In addressing the negative posters here, especially those who have resorted to personal attacks, my suggestion would be for you to check your premises and ask yourselves exactly what your intent is. Do you get your rocks off over the thought that you may have the power to cause a product to fail even before it hits the market? If so, why? Are you a destroyer and a looter in your "normal" life, or only as a brave keyboard warrior on the internet? Think of the time, money and hard work spent to bring such a product to market. Is this what you are trying to destroy? Do you have a problem with another individual's success? It certainly seems so based upon the treatment Ted Denney has received in both fuse threads and based upon your comments in this one as well. Ask yourselves again ... what is your intent? Why are you so destructive? Here's a knife ... stick it in Ted Denney and Tim Mrock's backs. Feel better now? As I said in a previous post ... its too bad they've closed most of the mental institutions. Shadrone is an excellent case in point. He has no idea of what he speaks. I would LOVE to have him work with me in commissioned sales for a week or two, and when it finally dawns on him what the job entails, watch him blubber, cry and piss his pants. Frank |
dynaquest4 And then there are you and I and a few others who are still scratching our heads in disbelief. Also....be aware that our questions and skepticism are important to the discussion. They call us "nay-sayers" but some newbies on this forum need to read both sides so they aren't unduly swayed by posters (with thousands of posts) who spout clearly impossible claims. When I spend money on my system it is typically for equipment upgrades and not useless bling. >>>>I think you did an excellent job illustrating the difference between a real skeptic and a pseudo skeptic, the latter being the one who is not curious and who never investigates these things. |
Shadorne sez ... "Frank the realtor laughs about his dumb clients. Just about says it all." There is a difference between "laughing" and shaking one’s head in disbelief. And YOU are calling them "dumb," not me. "So what is your commission on these tweak products (fuses and TC etc) ?" None of your business, but if it were your business you’d find that there is no commission involved. Nada. "Do you just get the products for free? Or is their a percentage fee - realtors work on commission..." Again, none of your business. But yes, the product is "free" to a beta tester as long as you discount the hours spent on the testing and feel as though your time and effort is worth nothing. You have a problem with a commission based income Shadorne? If so, name it. I’d venture to say that you wouldn’t last a week in commissioned sales. And by the way Junior, Realtor is spelled with a capital "R." Frank |
Shades of green paint or marker make a difference..yep the shade difference can be heard. I use a device that we came up with many years ago that is a topper that covers the entire top side of the cd including the edges. With the cover on there is very limited light scatter that can be miss read as errors by the detection system..The inside of the cover is painted green and the top side and edges are treated with AVM..the whole device is then cryo treated..and yes a difference and improvement can be heard in all of these steps. Tom |
at thecarpathian: Great post!! You will find, I think, that the answers to your questions will not be provided. You will just be informed that all that matters is that after applying this expensive goo, "my system sounded jaw-droppingly better." Many here will rush to get there order in based merely on that appraisal. And then there are you and I and a few others who are still scratching our heads in disbelief. Also....be aware that our questions and skepticism are important to the discussion. They call us "nay-sayers" but some newbies on this forum need to read both sides so they aren't unduly swayed by posters (with thousands of posts) who spout clearly impossible claims. dynaquest4 Geoffkait: "Green marker on the outer edge of the CD and Black marker on the inner edge. Old school as it gets and almost scientific. More air, more dynamics and more detail. More analog than analog. " "Say it ain't so, Joe....please tell me it ain't so" (that you believe this fairy tale). Generally speaking, folks would be much better off if they believed in too much instead of too little. As I suspected, you don’t really have a scientific reason for your belief. Pseudo skeptics by and large are a superstitious lot. |
Being not nearly as learned as most of you on this forum, I spend the majority of my time here reading and learning and drawing my own conclusions on what I perceive to be fact or fiction. Right or wrong, my perceptions are mine until convinced otherwise. I rarely post unless it is to ask a question. I hold no degree in engineering, I can't state unequivocally whether this product works as described or not unless I hear it for myself. But I can still draw a conclusion based on what I've read so far.. Those who are advocating this product-Guys, honestly, you sound like one of those over the top infomercials that come on at 3 a.m. You're hyping it like its the greatest system transforming breakthrough in decades. It works like no other product before it. Put it on any and everything electrical. ("But, that is just scratching the surface of what this magic paste does...!") Whenever a product is hyped to that extreme, it's only natural to be skeptical. You don't have to have an engineers perceived mindset to be so. Anyone who is not foolish with his money will want to know; How does it work? Why does it work? Does the graphene have a higher conductivity rate than the copper or silver wire carrying the signal? Is the paste somehow purifying the signal or the electricity going through the wire? How is that possible? It eliminates micro-arching? What test equipment did the maker use to measure this? How can you possibly know that unless it was evaluated scientifically and data collected to prove this? If it truly works as is claimed, there MUST be a scientifically verifiable explanation and data as to why. Yet the maker offers none. I simply have to go on blind faith and testimonials and plunk down 300 of my hard earned dollars to see for myself. And if it makes no difference in my system and apparently any other piece of electrical equipment you can think of, well that's just too bad for me because the maker offers nothing in the way of a guarantee. Do you see where I'm coming from? No data whatsoever to back up what is claimed the product does, and no guarantee whatsoever that it does what is claimed. It only makes business sense that if you're selling a product of this sort for that amount of money, you would have proof to show it works as advertised. I'm not trying to be a jerk, these are simply the facts as I understand them. That is why I and many others are understandably skeptical. Someone please correct me if I am in error. |
dynaquest4 OK, tommylion, I get your point. But I would not "try it" because it seems to be advertised to fix a problem I do not have, has a ridiculous price tag and reminds me of green magic marker on the edge of CDs and wooden blocks to elevate cables. Since you used the word, I could, but will not, opine that those who get sucked it to this kind of voodoo magic are ignorant. Additionally, having a different opinion on this subject is not stirring the pot...it is called >>>>>Whoa! Hey, back this thing up. Beep, beep! So now all tweaks are snake oil. Let’s take things one at a time, shall we? The Green Pen is an effective tweak and well worth doing. Plus it doesn’t cost anything. So you can’t use the go to pseudo skeptic argument that it’s too expensive. I actually just used the Green Pen tweak over the weekend. You know, just to see if it still worked after all these years. Green marker on the outer edge of the CD and Black marker on the inner edge. Old school as it gets and almost scientific. 😬 More air, more dynamics and more detail. More analog than analog. In short, a no brainer. 🧠 Plus naysayers can’t think of a scientific reason why it can’t work so I win. Tee hee An audiophile thing doesn’t have to be hi tech, it can be lo tech. It can even be cheap. The whole issue is really one of efficacy. A thing that’s technically more advanced than chunky peanut butter is indistinguishable from voodoo. - Audio insider |
I have found that, as I progress in making improvements to the sound of my system, it becomes more and more about dealing with problems that I didn’t have (or rather, didn’t realize I had until they were fixed). Another way of saying it is: You'll never make any improvements in an area, if you are not open to the possibility that there are improvements to be made. |

Because they have the sense to know that someone who hasn’t tried it saying it doesn’t work tells them absolutely nothing about whether it actually works, or not. Saying that you think it is unlikely to work, and therefore don’t feel the need to try it, is perfectly valid. Making an absolute statement that it doesn’t work, when you haven’t tried it, is either just ignorant, or intentionally trying to stir the pot. There are a multitude of tweaks out there that I have no plans to try, for various reasons, but I can't say with any certainty that they don't work. I can only say that I don't see enough potential benefit to try them. |
I would not agree that Randy-11 is "out of step" just because his opinion (like mine) is to generally disagree with the efficacy of most audio "tweaks" that have no basis in science or reality. The OP says this product is a cure for the "smearing" of sound in our systems. I've never detected any smearing in mine. Why would anyone with any sense pay $300.00 for 25 cents worth of paste that accomplishes nothing. |
Not siding with the OP, but will say that @randy-11 is usually out of step with almost everybody else. His singular opinions, where he is the first to nay-say lots of posters on lots of topics, seem like they would not be appreciated by most posters or readers. Yet, for whatever reason (attention? the need to look smart?), it is these objectivist opinionists that like to get in everybody's face most often. I hold my judgement of the product, after all, only a couple have tried it. But am not in agreement in the way this (and the other products) are being hawked as if they were the be-all and end-all of their categories. The buying public will make that final decision. |
schubert ....but it (having an advanced technical degree) tends to up the odds (that they can determine it’s snake oil). I hate to be judgmental, but it appears those who defend and embrace Science most vehemently and complain the shrillest that Laws of Physics have been sullied or torn asunder are oft times merely English majors. 😁 |
Would it be too much to ask for comments that don’t sound like they’re right out of the Reviewer’s Handbook of Audiophile Cliches and Trite Expressions? You know, My jaw hit the floor or even my wife commented on the sound from the kitchen? 👩🏻🍳 How about, I don’t think my system can possibly get any better!? Does your dog cock his head and look inquisitively for someone there when he hears a voice on your system now? 🐩 Come on, people! I guess nobody ever heard of the Last Tweak Syndrome. You know, the tweak that finally gets you into Audio Nirvana. The one that gets you all the way to 100%. 😛 |
