New Tweak --- Its Fantastic

THE NEW TWEAK

Over the good part of this past year I’ve been beta testing a new tweak, the name of which is "Total Contact." Its a hi-bred graphene contact enhancer that is different from all other contact enhancers that have come and gone for one reason or another. I’m not new to these contact enhancers, having had quite a bit of experience with a product developed by the late Brian Kyle and his "Quick Silver" contact enhancer. The "Total Contact" is different ... a LOT different.

"Total Contact" is graphene based and is not a vibration control. It eliminates micro-arching between two contacts. Micro-arching, much like Micro-vibration smears the sound in our stereo systems. Its the type of distortion that we don’t know is there .... until we eliminate it. There is no break-in as we know it. The sound is improved right off the bat, but what you hear is only a smidgen of what’s to come.

I tested three generations of "TC," each of which was an improvement over the previous incarnation. The final mix was cryogenitically treated and made for a more effective, much smoother application. It comes in a large hypodermic needle type plunger containing 1.5 ml of product and includes a instructional DVD and an application brush.

The application should be applied with a very thin coat to all of your electrical connections .... from your cartridge pins to your power cords. I did my entire system, including the ends of my fuses.

Upon initial application, you will notice an improvement in clarity, correctness of tonal balance and a more overall organic sound. But ... that is just scratching the surface of what this magic paste does. As it cures, the improvements become more apparent. Much more!

There are two real break-through events that happen almost to the day with "Total Contact," one at four weeks and another at eight weeks . At four weeks, you’ll get a real jump in clarity and overall improvement. That’s only a taste though of what’s to come at eight weeks. At eight weeks your system’s focus will make a jump in SQ that is so real - its surreal.

After 40 years in the hobby, and a total tweak nut, I have never heard anything that does what this graphene paste does. The see-through clarity at eight weeks becomes simply amazing. The "paste" eventually cures into a kind of polymer plastic and it seems that the sound improves with each listening session. So, its important that you leave your contacts alone for the duration. If you’re the type of person that continually switches wires in and out, you’ll have to re paste until enough time has elapsed to get "the cure."

The only problem I had was with the first batch and that had to do with shorting out a tube pin in the line stage. Use the "TC" very sparingly on tube pins, if at all. I only had problems with the line stage tube pins. The Amp, CD Player and Phono Stage has had no tube pin problems at all.

Tim Mrock, one of our fellow A’goners, is the developer of the product. Its taken Tim 15 years and several patents to get it right. Tim has "pasted" every electrical contact he can find in his audio system, all of the switches in his circuit breaker box, every contact in his car ... and has used it in commercial applications such as hospital circuit breakers, surgical lights ... and other places where efficiency and long life of electrical components are deemed important.

This product is highly recommended to anyone who truly wants to get the most out of his/her audio systems. There’s enough product in each tube to do at least two audio systems as it just takes a very thin coat on each application to be effective. The last tube was enough to do my system twice and then a friend’s system this past weekend.

Frank

PS: There were a couple of other A’goner beta testers of this product as well. Hopefully, they will chime in here with their experiences for comparison. I "pasted" both of Steve Fleschler’s systems a few days ago, perhaps he will comment on his results too. We forgot to paste Steve’s power cords though, so there’s a lot more to be had from Steve’s two fantastic systems.

Great question. I know folks were asked directly if they paid for or will pay for their mats. Now the thread is gone. Think the two are linked. Not sure, but I speculate.
@grannyring

I was wondering about that.

On a side note, is your Lush usb cable still for sale on AudioCircle? You got quite a few asking about it.
I have petitioned Tammy to repost it and she is looking at it right now. I have no idea why it was removed except for Shadhorne and Wolf-Garcia’s two trolling negative comments may have triggered removal.  I added the comment that neither Frank is a beta tester and doesn't get paid for trying out equipment/tweaks and I can afford to purchase it and do not get paid by anyone either.
He and others did not get paid, but did they get free mats? Half price? Simple question. The mat thread is back now 🙂
Pointing out that Audiogon has a policy against a commercial sales pitch isn't trolling, or negative necessarily...it's just a fact. Look it up. Also, Frank has said he's a beta tester for both the TC stuff and the mats. In any case, goodbye mat thread!
I started a new thread in the misc section about the Omega E mat as I’d like to hear from those that have used it.
Wolf-Garcia or another troll filed a complaint with the Moderator that their was a sales pitch in the thread, so they deleted it again.  However, that post that dealt with the price and money back guarantee could be deleted and hopefully the thread will be reinstated.
OK Fleschler...I'm not going to "report you" for the personal attacks and name calling (sound familiar?) as I still think that's a cowardly move utilized by the insecure among us, but will simply once again point out that sleazy sales infomercials have no place in a discussion forum. A new thread (like t_ramey mentioned) simply discussing (hopefully without hyperbole, but that might be wishful thinking) the E mat seems more like what this place should be about. Many who obviously profit from these sales threads might not like it, and have been taking advantage of the "free" advertising opportunities here for years...it remains as offensive as robocalls or lame product placement stalking programs...resist!
Interesting; Fremer’s blog on Analog Planet this morning was about someone polishing his power plugs with Flitz a metal polish. The results in Fremers words was amazing. Flitz is like a silver polish that will remove oxidation. I wouldn’t recommend using it on thinly plated surfaces. There is no doubt that cleaning and or treating contact surfaces will greatly effect sound quality.
An observation: it takes a great many years for routine audiophile tweaks to make it all the way up to the executive suite. 😬 Does Fremer plan on discussing the Graphene contact enhancer next?
I use Flitz polish on all my brass endpins parts I make for cello and bass. They sparkle afterwards..final cleaning of debris and polish is completed with 91 % alcohol. I also use fine bronze wool to remove the tough stuff. Steel wool particles left behind speeds tarnish advancement. Removing the tarnish on an endpin makes for a better sounding cello. Tom
Tom ...

Have you tried TC on the cello endpins? If so, any observations?

Thanks ...

Frank
Re Fremer -- please note that this was a repost of a column from 2002 -- clearly nothing that anyone is discussing in this entire interminable thread can be considered new news other than the specific contact enhancer concerned.

As Fremer's column so clearly makes out attention to detail in these sorts of matters, as with many others in our hobby, pays back. Ascribing all of these types of effects to one miracle tweak rather than taking care with many cumulative small adjustments is what really puts me off
Frank,

I tried an application of TC on the junction of 2 parts that screw together.
Like on audio contacts there was a period of curing that both I and the cellist could hear. After 3 weeks we liked the improvement..seemed as if there was less noise returning from the floor thru the rod and onto the strings. The player said the bow was more responsive..so to me that meant an improvement of efficiency..Both of us thought there was a cleaner sound less odd order distortion.

Many players need to remove one part from the other so just like in audio there would need to be a re application.. much more often than in an audio system.
To me the application of TC to mechanical parts confirmed what I heard in my own high fi. Lower distortion.

Always looking for an enhancement of my product line and TC could be used within a special version of my Acoustic Coupling Disc. TC in combination with other materials I now use would further reduce interfering energy.

I will soon try the Omega Mat in conjunction with this new Acoustic Coupling disc as I designed the disc to be highly reactive. While my pins and discs are pricey and then perhaps add the Omega mat to the total, not many up and coming cellists could afford this beneficial formula. Though I have had the soccer mom type make a purchase for their Johnnie or Sue to give them a much added boost for a cello competition. Tom
Tom ...

The cello is one of my favorite instruments. It seems to be right in the range of the human voice. Thanks for the response.

Believe me, it doesn’t tale much to put Fremer off. In addition, Fremer has never heard the improvements that TC and the Omega E Mats can provide. If he did, it would blow him away.

Frank

@folkfreak   Can you expand on what you are communicating in the following:

Ascribing all of these types of effects to one miracle tweak rather than taking care with many cumulative small adjustments is what really puts me off

If more appropriate, feel free to PM me. I believe you are making an important point but I also want to respect the focus of this thread. In other words, a generic (not specific) "miracle tweak" so as to not be in conflict with Frank's thread. Thank you. - David.
I tweaked one component of the cello endpin with TC..only one..well 2 that come in contact .875 in diameter. On a total component part that weighs about a pound. Very apparent difference under the ear and with the bow. A mechanical part only....this on a moderate priced cello about 15 k. Tom

Tom ...

This is why I’ve been saying that Tim is really on to something here. Who would have believed that pasting the part that connects the cello to the floor would make a significant difference in sound quality?

What do you suppose would happen if someone were to paste the entire interior of a cello or a violin? How about below the strings of a piano?

Now I’m wondering what would happen if a series of Omega E Mats were placed on the entire bottom of the inside of a piano, just under where the strings are? Could an upright piano be brought into the realm of a Bösendorfer?

Frank
Just a thought,

John McDonald of Audience AV, in a recent interview mentioned “Currently we are investigating nanotechnology (nano-conductive sprays and nano-substrate deposits) and their uses to improve sonics.”  Seems like this delusion is spreading.🤯

Keep up the good work Tim.

I am not affiliated with anyone here or the product. I recently got a tube of it and it is fantastic. It made an audible change in my system for the better (Server, Absolare, Marten Design). I used it on my HFC interconnects and speaker cable terminations on both ends.
I wanted someone who has tested it to advise me on the following:
1. Is it safe to put on both ends of my power cable - the pins into the socket and the IEC pins into the component?
2. How careful do I need to be with coating the tube pins on my Absolare Integrated amplifier? Or is it best left alone....
3. I also bought some SR Black Quantum fuses. Am I correct that these have already been coated?
Thanks....
@sevenoranges How about you give a call today I would be more then happy to answer your questions.
Uh, guys, nanotechnology has been been around in audio for at least 15 years, especially the original Intelligent Chip (2005), the active ingredient of which was quantum dots, I.e., artificial atoms which, as their size suggests and as their explanation reveals, are the very definition of nanoscale. Not to mention WA Quantum Chips. Geez, has it been five years ago already? There are many audio products including CD treatments that employ nanotechnology, and graphene based contact stuff and even graphene cables. People just have not been paying attention. Nanotechnology is really after all is said and done just another buzz word, you know, like space age technology. 🚀
Geoeffkait,

It is nice to have this technology in our hands to directly enjoy those benefits Now, in our Hi-Fi’s.

Take care,

rc
The audio product name "Perfect Path" is a trademark registered  by Belden. I wonder if the "cease and desist" letter is in the mail.
I always thought it was from Shining Path, the communist party in Peru 🇵🇪 Or maybe The Shining.
wolf & geoff ...

Nope ... The Perfect Path refers to a gentleman who walked the earth 2018 years ago and pointed out the "Perfect Path" for us to follow. Its the same gentleman who is divinely inspiring Tim Mrock to come up with these great products that have increased our joy in one of His greatest gifts to Mankind ... music.

Frank
On second thought, that’s the dumbest thing I ever heard. No offense. ⚡️⚡️⚡️

wolf,

There is no place here for your mockery of the faith I share with Tim! I find it extremely offensive, and have reported it.
This appears to me to be the wrong forum for this redirection of the subject matter.

It should not have been brought up in the 1st place.

   LP
LP,

You may be right, but that is absolutely no justification for a totally inappropriate, crass, bigoted response.
lpretiring ...

My response was in response to these two guys:

  • wolf_garcia: "The audio product name "Perfect Path" is a trademark registered  by Belden. I wonder if the "cease and desist" letter is in the mail."
  • Geoff:  "I always thought it was from Shining Path, the communist party in Peru. Or maybe The Shining."
They asked the question. All I did is answer it.

Frank
I was trying to help poor Geoffkait who seemed upset by a silly religious reference (because I hate it when he gets upset), and I didn't actually ask any questions. Also, there's nothing crass or bigoted about questioning what I regard as mythological nonsense when it's dropped like a Cleveland Steamer in an audio discussion, regardless of how invested you may be in the myth.
wolf,

you can can try to weasel your way out of it, but you've shown your true colors.
True colors? I’m an atheist who thinks ALL religion is silly and utterly dangerous...I own that all day. Work on your reading comprehension there tommy. Start with looking up "irony."
I’m just a little jealous. I wish I had thought of this before, using religion to sell controversial tweaks. Automatic customer base. Bingo! I’m all set up, you know, with Flying Saucers, Quantum Temple Bell, Teleportation Tweak, Re-animator CD Strobe Gun. It’s a natural.  Hel-loo!
Let let me spell it out for you. You, of course, have the right to hold whatever views you want on religion. However, regardless of whether or not Frank was correct to reply to a question when the answer involved religion, making fun of, mocking, belittling etc., someone else’s beliefs on a public forum is the very definition of bigotry. It is also against forum rules. Decent people do not engage in this kind of behavior, regardless of their private views on said beliefs.

That’s all I have to say on the subject.
Tommy, are you stupid or something? I wasn’t attacking anybody’s religion, or mocking someone’s religious beliefs, whatever. I was mocking Frank - and by extension Tim - for using Jesus and devine inspiration to sell a product. Remember, Perfect Path? Hel-loo! I would think right minded religious folks would object, too. Get your facts straight before opening your yap.
With apologies to everyone on this thread, I will make my final comment on the subject of the moment.

I find it most interesting how people on both sides of the fence speak in absolute terms when IMHO no living human being has definitive proof of their belief.

   LP
"Proof" and "belief" don't belong in the same sentence,
at least in one that makes any sense.  Unless you define
your terms.

What does this have to do with advancing the enjoyment of
recorded music?
