New Tweak --- Its Fantastic

THE NEW TWEAK

Over the good part of this past year I’ve been beta testing a new tweak, the name of which is "Total Contact." Its a hi-bred graphene contact enhancer that is different from all other contact enhancers that have come and gone for one reason or another. I’m not new to these contact enhancers, having had quite a bit of experience with a product developed by the late Brian Kyle and his "Quick Silver" contact enhancer. The "Total Contact" is different ... a LOT different.

"Total Contact" is graphene based and is not a vibration control. It eliminates micro-arching between two contacts. Micro-arching, much like Micro-vibration smears the sound in our stereo systems. Its the type of distortion that we don’t know is there .... until we eliminate it. There is no break-in as we know it. The sound is improved right off the bat, but what you hear is only a smidgen of what’s to come.

I tested three generations of "TC," each of which was an improvement over the previous incarnation. The final mix was cryogenitically treated and made for a more effective, much smoother application. It comes in a large hypodermic needle type plunger containing 1.5 ml of product and includes a instructional DVD and an application brush.

The application should be applied with a very thin coat to all of your electrical connections .... from your cartridge pins to your power cords. I did my entire system, including the ends of my fuses.

Upon initial application, you will notice an improvement in clarity, correctness of tonal balance and a more overall organic sound. But ... that is just scratching the surface of what this magic paste does. As it cures, the improvements become more apparent. Much more!

There are two real break-through events that happen almost to the day with "Total Contact," one at four weeks and another at eight weeks . At four weeks, you’ll get a real jump in clarity and overall improvement. That’s only a taste though of what’s to come at eight weeks. At eight weeks your system’s focus will make a jump in SQ that is so real - its surreal.

After 40 years in the hobby, and a total tweak nut, I have never heard anything that does what this graphene paste does. The see-through clarity at eight weeks becomes simply amazing. The "paste" eventually cures into a kind of polymer plastic and it seems that the sound improves with each listening session. So, its important that you leave your contacts alone for the duration. If you’re the type of person that continually switches wires in and out, you’ll have to re paste until enough time has elapsed to get "the cure."

The only problem I had was with the first batch and that had to do with shorting out a tube pin in the line stage. Use the "TC" very sparingly on tube pins, if at all. I only had problems with the line stage tube pins. The Amp, CD Player and Phono Stage has had no tube pin problems at all.

Tim Mrock, one of our fellow A’goners, is the developer of the product. Its taken Tim 15 years and several patents to get it right. Tim has "pasted" every electrical contact he can find in his audio system, all of the switches in his circuit breaker box, every contact in his car ... and has used it in commercial applications such as hospital circuit breakers, surgical lights ... and other places where efficiency and long life of electrical components are deemed important.

This product is highly recommended to anyone who truly wants to get the most out of his/her audio systems. There’s enough product in each tube to do at least two audio systems as it just takes a very thin coat on each application to be effective. The last tube was enough to do my system twice and then a friend’s system this past weekend.

PS: There were a couple of other A’goner beta testers of this product as well. Hopefully, they will chime in here with their experiences for comparison. I "pasted" both of Steve Fleschler’s systems a few days ago, perhaps he will comment on his results too. We forgot to paste Steve’s power cords though, so there’s a lot more to be had from Steve’s two fantastic systems.

I am interested in trying this product but am reluctant without some guarantee. Also wondering why such a cost difference between Mad Scientist product which does offer guarantee? Should I try their product first as a trial or is it possible to get a trial size of TS to put on speaker connections to see what it does.
Yes the picture is me I have raced bikes for 42 years and was involved in the musical instrument business for 42 years.
A rave review is not a guarantee. How many products make claims with many great reviews? Many vitamin and weight loss supplements make claims with money back guaranties assuming that the consumer won’t bother returning the product. For $35 I would take a risk but for $300 I’m still reluctant.Unless I saw a demo like I have with cables and other devices I won’t try it on blind faith. However I am intrigued .
All my bike parts come with a guarantee and if the brakes don’t work or if there is a catostrophic failure there is legal recourse. I really don’t want to spend $300 and my only recourse is posting a negative review. Let me be perfectly clear I am not questioning the integrity of the rave reviewers but I don’t know any of you. There is only one person whose recommendations I take whole heartedly and that is Michael Fremmer. Send him a tube for review if you want to see the product take off.
Thanks, I’ll wait for Fremmer’s review. He is very thorough and takes the responsibility of his reviews seriously. If he gives it a thumbs up I will gladly pay the $300 for the product and for all your hard work creating it.
Granny ring - there are many tweaks for bikes. One company sells a solution wax and graphite based that will give you an extra 5 watts. They also sell oversized der. pulleys good for 10 watts. You can spend thousands on wheel sets that will give you extra speed. It comes down to how much you want to spend for marginal gains. Or you can just train hard lose weight and do the best with what you have. In pack racing some of the gains are less important than tactics.
I was wondering what fuse Dan D’Agnostino uses in hs new $250,000 power amp? Sort of reminds me the time Marian Brown a well know jazz sax player came into my store and asked for a #3 alto sax reed. I asked do you want regular Rico’s or the RICO royals. He said regular Rico’s i’ll do the Royal part.
Just a quick note from a skeptic. I just received Graphene Contact Enhancer ordered from Mad Scientist in New Zealand. Paid $25 as an experiment before considering ordering TC. I have not applied it yet but they gave a sample of a product called BlackDiscus. You can put the discus on any terminal or on top of any component. They said it will work just putting it on a table within 10 ft and the only way to shield it’s effect is to put it in a tin box. I put it on the red post on the speaker. The effect was huge. Bass sounded more stringy less thumpy, clearer vocals, better imaging, better separation and resolution. I had to bring my wife and 16 year old daughter to listen to see what they heard. Mad Scientist said the disks that you buy are even more effective than the free samples. It’s all hocus pocus to me but my ears did not lie. Wondering if you folks clean your terminals first before applying TC? Still think having a trial size to purchase might be a good marketing strategy for TC. See what it does first before shelling out $300.

Mad Scientist does have a sense of humor. Like I said it’s all hocus locus to me. Even if they explained how it works I probably wouldn’t understand it anyways. Besides every manufacture has an explanation why their product is the best. I let my ears and heart do the explanation. Also appreciate the free sample and gurantee.
I can’t begin to understand the Stein or Stillpoint tweaks. The only thing I can imagine about the disks is they contain Lead in something that might attract RF and keep it out of the system. I use to own a musical instrument store and sometimes when I bought a vintage amp with a two prong plug I would get radio stations and cell phone conversations while playing thru it. Electric wires that lead to a house will act as a big antennae.
Finally got around to treating all my terminals and interconnects with Kontak cleaner and then cardas contact conditioner. Very happy with the results. All the usually improvements for $60 and 30 minutes of my time. Also noticed that had to turn down gain of amp for same previous volume. Have you TC users noticed that too? Looking forward to trying TC someday.
Interesting; Fremer’s blog on Analog Planet this morning was about someone polishing his power plugs with Flitz a metal polish. The results in Fremers words was amazing. Flitz is like a silver polish that will remove oxidation. I wouldn’t recommend using it on thinly plated surfaces. There is no doubt that cleaning and or treating contact surfaces will greatly effect sound quality.
