Music for Working Creatively – I need your help!

I need your recommendations for music to listen to while I work, but first some context...

I run an marketing/ ad agency and like to listen all day to a variety of tunes through my mid-fi tube amp setup w Klipsch Heresy speakers.

The music can't be too hard or piercing (no AC/DC) but I do like music with a beat and rhythm.

Some favourites include: Classic Rock (Fleetwood Mac, The Cars, Dire Straits, etc), "Good" Country (Chris Stapleton, Merle, Willie, etc), HipHop/Electronic (Post Malone, Daft Punk)

Thanks in advance for your great suggestions:)

lots of research suggests Baroque music pace and meter coincides with brain waves, and is great for creative process...moves us forward without drawing attention to itself...Vivaldi has worked particularly good for me...

Yo Yo Ma, Bach Cello Suites. Try it, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Thanks everyone.

I do sometimes listen to classical, however more when I paint.

Any hidden gem rock / alternative albums out there?

@dynamic_driven

More in the prog alt rock mold, not too hard, elaborate and upbeat:

- Puscifer / Condition of my parole

- Beck / Midnight

- OSI / Blood

- Pineapple Thief / Dissolution

- Lunatic Soul / Fractured

On the electronic front and not to miss:

- Anything by Yello, start with Point / Motion Picture or Zebra

- Air / 10,000 Hz legend or Pocket Symphony

That ought keep you busy for awhile. Enjoy!

music that’s not too distracting but still involving and inspiring - Van Morrison.

music that’s -a + b + c... - Van Morrison

music that’s +a + b +c + d... - Van Morrison

you get the picture :)

Riverside 20 - Volume 1, The Shorts.  The band is Riverside, but what I listed is the tital on Qobuz.

Carolin No - Carolin No.

How do you listen?  Are you streaming?  Suggest setting up a playlist with all the favorites you mentioned.  That’s what I’ve done.  Start with all the Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler albums.  That’s several hours right there.

Miles Davis - In a Silent Way

Grant Green - Idle Moments

Joe Henderson - Live at the Village Vanguard 1 & 2

I like Yo Yo Ma but got to the point where I feel I can hear him more than the music.

Try Brandenburg Concertos as well as anything related to ancient music.

If your streaming follow these steps....
Step 1:Get yourself a FREE Pandora account..
Step 2:Search a few of your favorite songs you think fit your needs...
Step 3:Thumbs UP songs that hit the mark & Thumbs DOWN those that do not...
Step 4:Organize songs & styles into "Stations"....
If you are NOT streaming,START!!!

The Pretenders "Learning to Crawl"

I believe I remember Art Dudley writing that he liked listening to that lp every morning. Also, Chrissie is such a bad $ss.

Here are some very laid back, heart-breakingly beautiful tracks:

Bonnie Prince Billy - Break of Day
Celeste - I Can See the Change
Nick Drake - From the Morning
Jacob Banks - By Design
Nina Simone - July Tree
The Be Good Tanyas - Back Against the Wall
Katy Kirby - Cubic Zirconia

and the grooviest of all:
Van Morrison - Caledonia Soul Music
