I am sad

I am very sad. Feels like I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place.

My amplifier is malfunctioning. It happens. Just fix it and move on what’s the big deal? Well I’m trying. I need the company of the amp to send me the invoice so I can buy the part and start the fixing. But they don’t reply to my e-mails. It’s been 3 weeks since the last communication. The amp has been broken for 2 months. I just need them to let me pay for the part. I don’t understand what’s so difficult. I’m sad.

I’m unfortunately married to the sound of this amp. For example a person married to the Mcintosh sound or the Pass labs sound. My speakers (Summit X) are amplifier picky. They love this amp. I check my email 20x a day hoping to see the invoice. I also check the junks. They had already said the part is available for $300. I’m not even sad anymore. I am depressed.

 As with many words in the English language, perspective has multiple meanings. Within each meaning, we all interrupt what we want them to mean. @samureyex, you purposed a question that can be answered in more ways than one. Since this is English and not Mathematics, without further adieu;

  1. 1.

    the art of drawing solid objects on a two-dimensional surface so as to give the right impression of their height, width, depth, and position in relation to each other when viewed from a particular point.

    "a perspective drawing"

    •
    •
    •
  2. 2.

    a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.

    "most guidebook history is written from the editor's perspective".

     'A point of view' would best describe this entire discussion. We all get one.

Run to the used record store, pay $50 for The White Album, and listen to Cry, Baby Cry.

 That's my suggestion.

@samureyex

Here's the link to the imprint on their website with their telephone number in Berlin, please call them. And let me know if you run into a language barrier. If so, I live in Germany and can help.

@devinplombier ,

It would appear no apology is forthcoming.

You know, when I'm wrong I'm man enough to own it and apologize.

Apparently @samureyex is not.

This is a good reason why I don't buy from companies that use proprietary modules in their gear. Should they go bust, your amp will be very difficult to repair if you can even find someone who can re-engineer the modules. Even if they can, the cost would be so prohibitive that it doesn't make economic sense to do so.

@samureyex ..sorry to hear it! Is it the same amp you’ve used for speaker cable break-in experiments?

Is it Einstein in Germany?  Good luck, my friend.  You'll be waiting a long time.   Then, if you get lucky, they'll invite you to ship it to Germany, where they will polish the unit and hold it forever, not fix it, then return it to you (all shipping at your expense) not fixed.   Then you'll hunt down a repair shop here in the US who will fix your unit in a week.

There are not too many threads I can read thru the whole way like I did this one so thanks to all for the entertainment. And good luck getting your amp fixed Samurryex.

@norton-- I agree, just stumbled upon this myself.

I've never understood why some folks feel the need to make unempathetic and judgmental responses.

@Samurryex --  May your amp issues be solved soon.

It’s kind of like when we all get together and have a good time tying witches to a stake and lighting them on fire or the alternative sport of killing prostitutes by throwing rocks at them.
