Has anyone tried these stunning new CPT power cord?

Considering the many, many brands of power cords I've tried in my very well accomplished high-end system, I have never been so impacted by these Core Power Technology power cords. Within a very short period(15-20) minutes my system literally came alive. Soundstage opened wider and deeper. The background became dead silent, space between instruments and stage members were more focused and everything sounded cleaner and musical than ever. My highs had a glorious crispness and symbols shimmered. Midrange through my 2" horn became more dynamic and punchy. My 15" bass driver tightened and dug low with great control. My Rel G1 which is a fabulous sub on its own but with a CPT 150 on it is another story. Running high pass from my sub to my Audiozen Noah amplifier, music depth is just stunning. Lower end bass is authoritative and clean with solid grip and impact.
My experience with these power cords is truly magical. The scary part of the above is I only have one 150 on my sub and one 300 from my wall to my 6 outlet bar. I still need 3 more to complete my system. I could just imagine the level after that...In closing, I cannot emphasize enough to try one of these in your system. I CANNOT and WIIL NOT take these out as they are that good. But hold your jaw, cuz what you've been listening to will just become real after Core Power Technologies.

Cheers....and let the tapping begin.......

So grateful for your wonderful comments - we are surely very proud...

Best wishes,

I have been monitoring this forum for a few months now to get a baseline on the technology behind Core Power Technologies. I am no stranger when it comes electronic equipment or in this case, power conditioners and in fact over the past 5 years, I have owned several conditioners to include Torus, Audience, Shunyata and a few others I cannot recall.

So, after hearing many positive comments about E=C, I decided to contact Mark at Core Power Technologies to discuss my system requirements in which the E=C 1200 met my needs. Mark is a wonderful guy which I thoroughly enjoyed talking to and he has a passion for this hobby that we all have come to love.

I received my E=C 1200 a few days after talking with Mark and I immediately started the burning-in process by running box fans and light sources through the E=C for 10 days, alternating AC outlets to ensure each outlet was being conditioned.

I took some notes of my current power conditioner, Running Springs Jaco which was by far the best conditioner I have ever heard in my system until I inserted the E=C 1200. I couldn’t believe my ears, my system took on another level of clarity that was quite astonishing, and cymbals had more weight, dimension and decay. My soundstage was extended in depth, width, height and images became more holographic, visceral, more texture, better ambiance and low level detail which give the listener a sense of being part of the recording venue. This was noticeable on everything that I listened to.

Another benefit in adding the E=C 1200 to my system was how beautiful my Plasma Screen TV looks, colors are vibrant with excellent definition and picture quality is remarkably improved in sharpness, contrasts and saturation. I whole heartily recommend the E=C 1200 and at its suggested price, it beats conditioners I have owned in excess of $4K.

Our board vendor sent the first 6 units to us and they made a mistake with the "thickness" of the boards. These must carry heavy current - so we went back to them and asked them to re-make the boards.

Fortunately - they saw their error and the new boards should be here Friday. We have all of the parts in house already...

Doug does have Unit One up on his bench and he reports that it works perfectly. We are going to release a statement as to what does it actually do (deeper explanation than the one I've been giving people) shortly.

This is a very cool product and one that everyone will be interested in...

Many thanks,

Mark
Mark..could these pcs be used on an Apple iMac computer,,?.just wondering..Dave

Dave, I see 2 possibilities. 1) If you are using a strip like the Wire World which accepts the IEC male from the E=Q 300, you just plug the computer's power supply/cord into the strip. 2) If you have a 1200/1800 you just plug it directly in. It just takes an extra step in the smaller versions, adding a power strip, or just get one of the big boys.
@calloway

Good to hear from you sir...

No - these have Standard style IEC Female Input...

They are really good - very excited about this product...

Also - our new Super Stroke Power Cords have arrived! These are the very best Power Cords I can design and build under $500 dollars. I've tested the samples against everything I could put my hands on - I am thrilled with the final units that are here and in stock...

THESE ARE GOING TO RETAIL AT $129 DOLLARS :)

Any CPT Customer can drop us a note and we will provide unit one for them at $99 dollars. These are superbly crafted, sound great, finished beautifully and super flexible for eae of use.

We are also working on a special project with THE MAN for power cords - his sample is here and we love love love... it won't be $99 dollars though... :)

forgot to mention that if I use my Hegel 360 integrated I get 0 hum when plugged into the 1800.
I was hoping to get some advice/help ;) I have the CPT 1800 and connected to it is a pair of KR Audio VA910 tube amps and the KR 130 preamp, PS Audio DS(with CPT 150), SOTM SPS1000 PS (CPT 50) for the Microrendu and MoCa converter. I live in a townhouse and do not have a dedicated circuit. From what I have read I thought the 1800 would eliminate all ground loops? Well, in my system it doesn't it only adds to the hum. The outlet (Maestro) the CPT is connected to is fed from another outlet in my listening room. If I move one amp off the 1800 and into the outlet before the CPT the hum is about gone. With the amps only connected to the speakers (Langerton Config 217) and no input the amps are dead quiet. I'm puzzled why I have hum when having everything plugged into the 1800? I tried a cheater plug, ground wire between pre and amp - nothing worked except for what I stated above. Is there something wrong with my 1800?

Thanks
Tony
I've been enjoying putting user comments up on my personal Facebook Page. The comments back from friends all over the world has inspired me to offer a few here as well. I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting a few of these...

Here was the first one I posted...

In my 48 years in the Audio Industry I have learned one of the best ways to judge a product is by comments of our end users - this is where the rubber hits the road. I'm going to posting several over the next few days - this one from S.W. in Naperville IL

Hi Mark,

I cannot emphasize how impressed I am with the Equi=Core 1200 in my stereo system. Every aspect of sound reproduction in my 2 channel system has been improved very significantly and with no discernable side effects. Noise floor is much lower - revealing details never heard before, bass goes noticeably lower, soundstage wider and deeper, vocals are gorgeous and also there is a sense of the sound being more like the real thing....like a live peformance. Background vocals and instruments are very easy to hear and place in the soundstage. I could go on but it just seems like I have had multiple component upgrades in my system. Lastly, video is also much improved with darker blacks, more vivid colors and with a more three dimensional look.

Thanks Again

Mark,

Congrats on the award and review! PM going out to you. :)

For mods, I have my own ideas we can discuss.

aniwolfe,

In regards to footers and vibration control, I personally recommend some combination of wood and elastomers. Woods have all kinds of different sounds, so experimenting is best. I'm also going to be experimenting with some composites of carbon fiber. Metal seems to increase the resonant frequency, resulting in peaked highs. Of course, everyone's hearing, listening, and system goals are different, which is why free trials are always a positive.

Bacardi,

If you're really anti-modding, I would recommend trying a contact enhancer, like the one from Walker Audio. This will give you a similar benefit, at a much reduced cost. Just make sure to follow the directions, as you're dealing with electricity.

Mark..congrats on a great review...but then ..those of us who have the '300' ..know exactly what he found out..great product..AGAIN..congrats.
Wanted to share with everyone this really wonderful review... Very proud of this - and over the next few months I am aware of several more reviews that will be published.

Jeff Dorgay and TONE Audio are The Real Deal - and I'm just very pleased and proud today...

Greetings All...

Just wanted you to know that our Isolation Pucks have not yet arrived.

Your letters, coupons and the iso-pucks will all go together.

Apologies for the delay - they ARE on the way.

Thanks all...

Mark
@sruffle,
The CPT 1200 and 1800 are awesome and have a heck of a lot of bang for the buck, definitely something to consider.
Your Cerious Technologies Graphene power cords are very good at a low asking price, and are also big band for the buck. In my opinion you don't realize how good of a power cord you have due to lack of spending a fortune trying other power cords...no offense meant.
PM me if you want more detailed information.

I recently bought a 1200 and am having no problem running my whole system. It is sounding wonderful it definitely lives up to the hype.

All, I am starting to research a power upgrade for this Spring.  My current set-up has a dedicated line powering a 2 watt Decware SET amp, passive preamp and DAC.  A MacMini and subwoofer is on a separate circuit shared with the TV, cable box, etc.

Components on the dedicated line are plugged into a generic power block.  PCs plugged into the power block are a Cerious Graphene on the amp with Shunyata Venom 3s on the DAC and pre-amp. A Shunyata Venom Defender is also plugged in for surge protection.

The CPT product line really intrigues me.  The Equi-Core 1200 looks like an option that could power my whole system (or at least the DAC, preamp, and power amp).  Another option would be to try the 300 on the power amp and 50 on the DAC.

As a bit of background info, I have not tried a ton of PCs.  Other options I am considering are simply going with two pretty nice PCs for the power amp and DAC to replace the Cerious Graphene and Venom 3.

Are there any suggestions on a recommended approach?  Thanks in advance for comments.

@lak

@ozzy

Lets try to chat next week before your DEEP CORE alpha samples arrive...

Good Evening...

Lynn reports to me that after meeting all commitments (including 230v units which are in-test right now for final shipment) we actually have 5 units which can be shipped...

I have 2 x 1200 and 3 x 1800

Good Evening...

I wanted to update all of you that have purchased CPT products of the following...

First - all 1200 and 1800 owners will be receiving a package this week or early next re your Warranty Statement (5 years unconditional) as well as 4 of these wonderful isolator "pucks" that work perfectly for the above mentioned.

As well - each of you will be receiving a $250 dollar coupon towards the purchase of Deep Core. Doug has been in DC for a few days - but we have been working on our Introduction Notes re this product. This product is an improvement firmly rooted in science that will really be viewed as quite special once listened to. Of course this will come with an unconditional 30 day money back guarantee (like all of our products)

Those of you that have purchased either a 50, 150 or 300 will also get this coupon.

We want you folks to enjoy these fruits first as you represent a large portion of our Early Adopters.

I still don't have final pricing as we are discussing quantity purchases with our vendors. Once I have these in hand - I will post final pricing. We are still under $1K dollars and trying hard for $799-ish... :)

Thanks so much...

Mark
The core  power cords are Very good the only downside is that they average around  $5-700 each.   One thing great is they havery a small but excellent Regenerator that was supposed to be out but will now be out for Oct
350 watt 4 outlet for roughly  $1000 and as good or better then. the ps audio .
CORE IS A SOLID CHOICE .

I would imagine that the deep core fits into the tweak category for the CPT. Maybe its better than all the tweaks mentioned below?
Hello...

I am told that we should have boards and readied beta units re Deep Core in two weeks.

Super excited about this of course.

Felt this needed updating a bit in this thread...

Many thanks,

Mark
Good Morning All...

There is an issue I need to raise on this forum - and I will be doing so as well on our web site.

As we are dealing with AC Mains here obtaining Product Liability Insurance is never an easy matter. Our company has asked us to use US style AC Plugs - and not Schuko (or otherwise)...

Those desiring Schuko can of course have them - but we can only include them in the box re 50/150 and 300. We include an ECO Wattgate in this case. We do not install them...

Most folks are happy with a simple adaptor - but as this came up this morning I felt I had better let everyone know here. We do not charge for the Wattgate Schuko (or otherwise) -

This will be reflected right away on our web site as well...

Thank You,

Mark

PS - this is again ONLY reference the AC Mains plug on 50/150 and 300
@agriculturist  lak is correct, no soldering is required with Furutech NCF connectors, just a screwdriver.   Mike Garner built all the Furutech cables for me.
@agriculturist,
There doesn't need to be any soldering involved.
Can be as easy as cutting and stripping wire and tightening screws.

Knghifi
Do you build your own power cables? Is there soldering involved?
Thanks

@knghifi , I myself have a few pricey Furutech products but upgrading each and every power cord could get extremely pricey. Bybee mods inside, Furutech connectors on each end, Furutech cabling on each side of CPT. If one had 4-8 CPT cords like me would amount to unjustifiable amounts. The Akiko products are a very simple ad on and much much cheaper that amounts to no customization of original gear(just in case of resale or upgrade bug). Plug - and - play. Remember : "K.I.S.S" is still a very well known term we've all heard.....

I truly believe this idea is really breaking down an original patent that Mark has very well earned. Add-ons inserted into a system like the Akiko may have a greater overall effect for way less money. Sounds like your tweeks are more than the unit itself multiplied by the number of CPT's in ones system...then you have a waiting period and break in a second time...yikes.....just saying....

@bacardi I don't considered replacing a captive power cable by a PROFESSIONAL extreme.  The modified unit looks exactly like stock except for a different cable.

Resale value is never a big factor in my purchasing decisions especially at this price.   Furutech FP-S032N $130 per meter and connector $100 each so for parts, $590 total retail.  Excellent ROI!

I doubt upgrading the power cable and connector is a deal breaker with most EDUCATED consumers if they compare to stock.  Yes too each their own!

As the Canadian distributor for CPT power cords we have been enjoying the companies products since the first day we hooked them up but we did want to see if we could take them to a whole new level. We played with various tweaks and did find one stand out product that worked extremely well with the CPT products. Most people on these forums have heard of Akiko, a small Dutch company that makes some excellent tuning products. There is an old saying "I like the company so much that I bought it", truth is I didn't buy the company but I liked the Akiko products so much that we decided to distribute Akiko throughout North America.

We have tried all CPT products over the past month and from our test results the two stand out Akiko products that worked extremely well in conjunction with the CPT products were the Akiko Corelli and the E-Tuning Gold MK2 stick.

Last month we installed the E-tuning stick directly onto the CPT 300 power cord which has been in our reference system for over six months. We started by putting the E-tuning stick before the transformer and the results were good with noticeable improvement in several areas but when we put the E-tuning stick after the transformer on the CPT 300, improvements were even more substantial. Next thing we did was try two E-tuning sticks on the same CPT 300 power cord, one before the transformer and one after the transformer. This combination resulted in significant gains. The noise floor dropped, imaging was more focused, bass response was tighter and there was more decay of the instruments. Next thing we did was plug the Akiko Corelli directly into our CPT 1200 which the CPT 300 is also plugged into. My reference system has always been very good but when we plugged  the Corelli into the CPT 1200 it was if we had combined a high end digital system with a high end analogue system. The whole system became virtually holographic with decay and air that I have never heard before in any of my set-ups. I could almost feel the air around the performer and truthfully throughout my whole listening room. At first there was so much air that it was eerie even though it was a new experience for me. A lot like being at a live venue but eventually it became my new favorite thing for my current system. Connecting the Corelli to the 1200 made every song sound like a new one with greater presence, feeling of emotion, passion and harmonics to each and every song. Other aspects of the CPT/ Corelli combo was much better separation from left to right, isolated depth and precise placement. I now have five distinct separate locations. Singers are clearly 2-3 feet apart from each other with the CPT/Corelli combo in place. When I remove the Corelli piece, the singers lost the separation and in fact sometimes they were not even separated at all. The singers vocally are now clearly 5-6' high and the guitars are about 3' high how they should be. When I listened to the same songs previously before the CPT/Akiko combo, I could not distinguish between the height of each singer and whether they were beside or in front of each other singing...

I could go on but I will put it this way; I have done many other expensive upgrades over the years but for $2600 total funds, I have never heard what I am experiencing with the Akiko upgrades and the CPT combined together. To put this in prospective. We have tested over 60 different conditioning systems from $24,000 down and the combination of CPT and Akiko is the best conditioning system I have heard in my system to date.......
@knghifi, To each there own, if tearing apart a factory unit which most of us won't due and modifying it is your thing- go for it. If you ever wanna sell these items you may have problems as most want original. We all find something better for less. It's in the hobby....I know without reterminating ends and wiring there are better add on mods that you could choose with more outcome to your entire system....few of us know of this....you may soon to....
