Has anyone tried these stunning new CPT power cord?
I have been monitoring this forum for a few months now to get a baseline on the technology behind Core Power Technologies. I am no stranger when it comes electronic equipment or in this case, power conditioners and in fact over the past 5 years, I have owned several conditioners to include Torus, Audience, Shunyata and a few others I cannot recall. So, after hearing many positive comments about E=C, I decided to contact Mark at Core Power Technologies to discuss my system requirements in which the E=C 1200 met my needs. Mark is a wonderful guy which I thoroughly enjoyed talking to and he has a passion for this hobby that we all have come to love. I received my E=C 1200 a few days after talking with Mark and I immediately started the burning-in process by running box fans and light sources through the E=C for 10 days, alternating AC outlets to ensure each outlet was being conditioned. I took some notes of my current power conditioner, Running Springs Jaco which was by far the best conditioner I have ever heard in my system until I inserted the E=C 1200. I couldn’t believe my ears, my system took on another level of clarity that was quite astonishing, and cymbals had more weight, dimension and decay. My soundstage was extended in depth, width, height and images became more holographic, visceral, more texture, better ambiance and low level detail which give the listener a sense of being part of the recording venue. This was noticeable on everything that I listened to. Another benefit in adding the E=C 1200 to my system was how beautiful my Plasma Screen TV looks, colors are vibrant with excellent definition and picture quality is remarkably improved in sharpness, contrasts and saturation. I whole heartily recommend the E=C 1200 and at its suggested price, it beats conditioners I have owned in excess of $4K. Wig :) Enter your text ... |
grannyring, Going a make a Deulund PC for my CPT and upgrade the internal duplex wiring. Is it necessary to double up the ground if I double up the neutral and live so that I’m not restricting power going into the CPT 1200? Planning on burning in on my cable first before upgrading internal wiring. Has any of you added a DC blocking scheme to your 1200 or 1800 and if so, do you have any pictures on how it was integrated into the unit? Mine does buzz occasionally and this circuit could make a noticeable improvement for sure. Maybe I should opt to have my Deep Core delivered verses a refund? Thanks, Wig |
@ grannyring and t_ramey Outstanding Info! I will complete this mod within the next few weeks with the parts listed in grannyring's posts and can't wait to hear the difference. BTW, I added Audience XO Caps to my two outlets like grannyring did on his BPT and the results are noticeable; lower floor noise, deeper/wider sound stage, better separation and more transparency. Guys, Started the mods to get rid of the daisy chaining; home runs for each outlet. Will complete the mod when I receive the Deulunds 600V power cable. https://systems.audiogon.com/systems/2061#&gid=1&pid=5 Wig |
Guys, CPT 1200 direct wiring and Audience XO Caps complete: https://systems.audiogon.com/systems/2061 Wig :) |
@ grannyring Your posts with parts selections and detail was instrumental in completing this mod and I just had to do this. I initially added Deulund wire for the daisy chain outlets and it was an improvement in SQ for sure but now I imagine it is going to be lifted up a few more notches... Thanks for your informative posts and willingness to help DIYers :) Will get all of my equipment plugged back in tonight and it will take some time to get the caps and wire burned-in. @ lak I upgrade to 3 Furutech NCF and a Furutech NCF chassis outlet and left the red stock outlet since my main components only require 2 outlets and those will be the ones with the XO Caps. Thanks, Wig |
@ tuffy72561 Minus the NCF outlets which I already had, parts will run you around $200 and a solid improvement across the board. CPT has been powered up for a few hours now and listening through my tube headphone system reveals a more nuanced with sound immerging from a much lower floor noise and deeper into the back ground. String instruments are more vibrant with more clarity, better separation and very realistic sounding; music flows so much better and just immerges out of no where... Thanks guy and I'll have to look into building a tube headphone amp 🙂 Wig |
