Has anyone tried these stunning new CPT power cord?

Considering the many, many brands of power cords I've tried in my very well accomplished high-end system, I have never been so impacted by these Core Power Technology power cords. Within a very short period(15-20) minutes my system literally came alive. Soundstage opened wider and deeper. The background became dead silent, space between instruments and stage members were more focused and everything sounded cleaner and musical than ever. My highs had a glorious crispness and symbols shimmered. Midrange through my 2" horn became more dynamic and punchy. My 15" bass driver tightened and dug low with great control. My Rel G1 which is a fabulous sub on its own but with a CPT 150 on it is another story. Running high pass from my sub to my Audiozen Noah amplifier, music depth is just stunning. Lower end bass is authoritative and clean with solid grip and impact.
My experience with these power cords is truly magical. The scary part of the above is I only have one 150 on my sub and one 300 from my wall to my 6 outlet bar. I still need 3 more to complete my system. I could just imagine the level after that...In closing, I cannot emphasize enough to try one of these in your system. I CANNOT and WIIL NOT take these out as they are that good. But hold your jaw, cuz what you've been listening to will just become real after Core Power Technologies.

Cheers....and let the tapping begin.......

Nice! I found the Furutech cord sounded great after just 4 hours of run in. However, unexpectedly things go south for about 3-4 days ( detailed and somewhat thin sounding) until all is wonderful. This has been my experience three separate burn in times.

Great cords. VH Audio has the raw cable on sale right now.

Has anyone found that their CPT units buzz mechanically? My 150 is silent, but the 300 buzzes away. I had to use softer footers and really clamp the tranny down, however it still buzzes slightly. I wish it did not really. My system is dead quiet except for the  300 buzz.
If I put my ear right on my CPT300 I do hear low level buzzing sound. It will only gets louder if my air conditioner kicks in. Is this normal? I hope so.
Unfortunately it does seem as though transformers will buzz. That has been my experience. You may find that 80 or 90% of them don’t buzz, but some of us will always get the buzzers.

i’m going to build a DC blocking circuit and place it inside my 300 to see if that quiets it down.

My system is dead quiet before the 300. I can now hear a very slight buzz when I’m about 10 feet away and not listening to any music. It did it before my modification and my modification helped just a tiny bit.

Wonder if someone can just purchase a transformer from the builder and replace it?
@grannyring

Do you have a link for the damping material your using? I have a bunch of the dynamat type stuff leftover from my truck I'm wondering would add anything to the inside of my 1800.
This seems like the appropriate time to mention that cork works fairly well under transformers, not to mention loosening the screws or even GULP removing the screws OMG! that strongly couple the transformer to the chassis. Of course low frequency high permeability mu metal should be wrapped around the transformer as the induced magnetic fields are not really that good for the sound. If I say this often enough maybe it will permeate. 😛

I used cork also per your post! I used 1/4 inch directly under the tranny and over the CLD material. @geoffkait the tranny still buzzes and what are your thoughts about a DC  blocker circuit?

Instead of tightening the nylon screw tight, I will remove it and see if that helps....
The tranny is the only thing in the chassis. No other circuitry to protect from magnetic fields in these units, unless you think it is degrading the sound to the hard wired power cable on the unit.
@t_ramey
Here is a link to a bulk buy I made on EBay for a military overrun on dampening material. I had enough to damp several pieces, woofer baskets, equipment rack, and still have extra left over. This stuff is conductive so be careful when using. I used it as the first layer of two in this project.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Acoustic-Sound-Absorbing-Dampening-37-3-4-x-7-Adhesive-backing-10-sheets-F04...

I used this as the second and top layer as it is not conductive.

Way over and beyond for sure. Very generous of Mark. Love his products and have been reading about the Deep Core. I have a DC blocker circuit in mind and see he has put one in the Deep Core with great filtering and surge protection. Seems like a well thought out unit. The Core Power Technology products I have go well beyond the sound improvements gained from past balanced conditioners I have owned. I have own the BPT 3.5Sig and loved it. However, Mark’s units are even more more special in how they connect you to the music.
Anyone familiar with the Pangea Audio AC-9SE MKII Power Cord? Good?, bad? Anyone suggest alternatives around $300.00?
Mark, what a truly generous gesture for grannyring! I don't believe you will find many instances where a used, second hand, out of warranty product, gets the most expensive part replaced for free by the manufacturer. Thanks Mark for supplying an affordable balanced power conditioner, and offering over and above customer service to boot!
paul8060, Give Mark a call/text and ask about the Super Stroke cable. This cable is a real sleeper for around $100, and I'm pretty sure equal or better than the Pangea, you also have a trial period where you can return the cable, plus you can hook up 3 components for $300.

You have mentioned how big a breakthrough Deep Core is, and the ability to "tune" it to be a very synergistic improvement to a system, so we are anxious to hear a Deep Core in our own systems, and I'm betting it will have been worth the long wait. Have a successful meeting with Peter, survive your moves, and get well soon.
He must be exhausted from the location move.  I have to say I've been interested in these balanced isolation transformers for a long time and been following this thread.. it inspired me to order parts to build my own.. man it's complicated, especially learning the theory so I don't electrocute myself.. currently figuring out the grounding.  I probably would have been better off ordering one of Mark's products :P
I understand all Equi-core products have balanced transformer but are they also isolation transformer ? Do they completely isolate from the mains ? It would be very interesting if they did.
Has anyone been able to get ahold of Mark recently by phone or email? His VM box is full and my last email correspondence with him was August 28th.
Mark texted me today saying he is shipping 11. 1800?

Mark, still waiting for the tracking number. Thx
Mark is swamped with move related work, getting parts shuttled between temp shop and a couple of storage units is taking all his time, and energy. He's still recovering from his major migraine, and a surgery on his hand. He and Lynn are meeting must move by deadlines and have to transfer their entire shop, and their home to new locations simultaneously, a ton of work. I'm sure Mark will clear his VM and be in touch with all messages soon, your patience and understanding are appreciated.
I got a short message from Mark, he will be taking care of his phone/voicemail, and will have updates on shipping of E=Q and DC units later today. They have a temporary shop set up and are building units to clear back orders ASAP. Mark & Lynn have endured 4 moves so far, with 2 major ones to go in Mid September to a permanent location, it's no wonder they're exhausted.
Glad I checked in on this thread as I now know that Mark is swamped with moving and that's why he hasn't been able to respond. I'm excited about joining the CPT family and will order either the equicore 1200 or 1800 as soon as the dust settles for Mark. I've been putting off doing so as I wasn't sure one would really improve my sound, but after hearing a system with it....and then without it, I'm kicking myself for not ordering one long ago.
Just wanted to log on very briefly to say that my phones are working again... (Thank GOD)...

I had not realized that when Lynn upgraded to the Samsung S8 and me my 8+ that our Google Voice Integration had stopped.

I never use the Sprint Voice Mails as they are poopy (better word to use but I'll avoid it)... I use Google Voice as they are really great. I get call announcements and text of the call - they are awesome.

When someone told us about not answering our phone messages I began to dig in - found out there were 50!!! I had never even set voice mail up on the new phones.

Just of course very apologetic to the many of you that left me messages. I had no idea at all...

This move has been amazingly painful for reasons I will explain in my longer mail due to follow later. We are shipping today (YAY!!!!!) at last.

With a smile on my face...

Thanks again...

Mark

Are these cords really that good?  Can they compete with the upper end of purist audio cords.  I am looking to get a purist but may try one of these now,  thanks
kedoades, the upper end of Purist Audio power cords are very good. The CPT power cords are a different creature because now you are using balanced power (the box) which cleans the gunk from the AC and allows you to hear more details.
I believe that you would have to demo them side by side to determine which you like better. As far as musical ability and dollars spent, I think the CPT would be the winner.
If you don't have any power conditioning in your system you might want to keep the power cords you currently are using and purchase a 1200 or 1800 which most likely could be used with your entire system.
@kedoades , throw me a private message at pspeziale@hotmail.com to insight me on the cords you have now.....thx..
Well I placed a DC blocker circuit inside both my 150 and 300 to tame the hum/buzz in my 300 and remove the hum/buzz in my amplifier transformers. It worked like a charm. The 300 as well as my amplifier are dead quiet! Awesome.

The DC blocker is very simple folks. Here are some pics.

- one bridge rectifier - 8amp. 600 volt
- one .47 uf film cap - I used a nice Audio Cap Theta
- two 15,000 uf. 35 vdc caps - I used Nichicon
- one 33 ohm resistor. - I used Mills MRA12

The unpopulated board came from here;

http://www.atlhifi.com/shop/bare-pcb/pcb-for-dc-trap-blocker-filter-for-toroidal-transformers-toroid...

While I I did not expect improved sound quality, who knows? We will see.

http://s1097.photobucket.com/user/grannyring1/library/DC%20blocker?sort=3&page=1
grannyring, good idea, please keep us posted on progress and sound quality.
The circuit needs to break in before I know if it has any impact on the sound quality. Right now I would say I am hearing a slight improvement in air and Micro details.  Could all be in my head 😁

However, all my toroidal transformers are dead quiet now. It costs about $50 to build one of these and place in your balanced transformer, AC distribution outlet box, or amp etc...
Just an update on the modifications I completed on the 300 and 150. Adding the DC blocking circuit did not bring about additional sound quality improvement. It did however quiet down the transformer in the 300 and the transformer in my integrated amp.

Now if you read back to an earlier post where I replaced the power cable with a nice Furutech on the outgoing female end only, this resulted in a Nice improvement to my ears. The biggest difference is more of a full-bodied sound presentation. All of the details are still there, however they are delivered in a more full bodied and meaty manner. In my system this is a big plus. However, this is both system and user preference dependent.

Looks like @kinghifi said the same thing much earlier on in this thread.

As as for the chassis dampening and removal if the steel bolt, washer, and top plate, not sure how much of the SQ improvement is due to these things.

Does anyone have any news on the deepcores? Did they get shipped last week, as hoped?

I have not heard a word about the Deep Core, other than being told a half dozen times it will ship to me tomorrow. Does it still exist or is it a figment of our imagination?
lak...i received an email from Mark yesterday that said they should go out this week..I surely hope they do as i am not a very patient person..
Just received my Core 1800 today and surprisingly got a phone call from Mark.  Glad he is doing well now!  Anyone knows how long it will take the 1800 to break in?  Thx.
The 1800 should sound good as soon as implemented into your system.
I'd say 300 to 500 hours for complete break-in, 100 hours should basically let you know what its capible of. Sometimes that is dependent upon the outlets built into the unit.

Greetings

I wanted to drop a brief note to update – but then this note sort of morphed into more.

After speaking with customers over the last few days I was urged to share with this thread more details as to exactly what has been going on.

Taking another risk here – but I can share with all of you that my health had really gone south over this three-month period. Getting Emerald Physics moved and Core Power – in addition to my own home was just too much for me.

I suffered two Hemiplegic Migraines that really knocked me out. This is addition to what I’ve already been dealing with – and then bleeding horribly from an unmentionable place and life has been rotten. I’ve spent more time in my local Urgent Care and my two Doctors offices that has really been the pivot-point as what has kept me away from all of you – and this place.

The phone voice mail is now working perfectly (no more Google Voice) – good news there… Call me – glad to hear voices… 720.317.9141

We STILL have not moved into our final spot. Living out of three cars and an Extended Stay America hotel room for these last three weeks or so – not bad… but not “normal” either…

We ARE shipping daily again and we will continue to plow through this back-log – those affected will be receiving a very nice note from me with my own way of saying I’m so sorry.

Lynn is building out in our temporarily rented build space and we are gaining momentum again. Units are leaving daily – this is a GREAT feeling for us. I want to let you folks know we were slowed when our first choice for a build out spot could not handle the rigors of our burn in rack… We had to move out – and find another place – we are in that one now.

We can never really thank all of you enough for your kindness and patience. I’m trying hard to keep this note short and to the point as this thread belongs to all of you – not me. I know that it’s hard to fathom how much has happened to me (and to us) … but we are here today standing strong and doing well.

Stay close to me if you have any questions…

I can finally travel to LA next week to launch out DEEP CORE – yay!

To our Jewish Friends – Happy Holidays…

Thank you so much

Mark

... and I really will log back in tomorrow to answer questions and read the thread... :)

Thanks

Mark
I emailed Mark this evening and and have stated my desires for him to sent my DC and power cord by this day next week or i will immediately ask for my money back..this has gone on long enough as far as i am concerned..he  emailed me on the 9th stating he was going to calif. the next week to 'release 65 units'...no word yet...stay tuned...
@calloway

I'm happy to refund. No issues there at all...

I have been trying to go to CA for 2 weeks now - but I've been unable to travel.

I'm cleared to arrive next week Tuesday (between the two Jewish High Holidays)...

I'm terribly sorry for the delays - but health and move issues slowed the process - I am doing much better - and glad the folks are receiving their 1800's etc. This makes us smile.

Do let me know sir...

@barbapapa

Believe as you like sir...

This company has delivered nicely (with some delays from time to time)

Like I said in my note - there is always a risk of saying too much in public forums - but I feel I did the proper thing.

We are shipping our backlog and looking forward to RMAF where we will have some units on display...

We are well in excess of 700 units now and I do believe @barbapapa  we've done a nice job with Product and Customer Service...

Best always,

Mark
Life happens and sometimes we are dealt more than we can handle for a season. Mark, I continue to pray this season passes for you and you emerge better for it.
