You are not alone, I have tried to insert pictures from different sources, Google Drive, One Drive, DropBox, and a few others to no avail.
Maybe we get help :)
Dumb question - how do you easily insert a photo/image inline with writing text in a post?
when i try to insert an image, i click the 'image' button in the upper buttons zone above the posting space ... but then it asks me for a ’url’...
let's say i have an image in my google drive, or even on my computer local drive...
in my basic e-mail apps, you can attach an image with an ’attach’ button, which a-gon doesn’t provide, or even easier, just ’copy’ and then ’paste’ an image in between blocks of typed text...
i am not the most computer savvy person... any assistance would be gratefully received... :)

i was told the only way to do this is to link the photo to some specialized picture storage/sharing site like imgur where we need to have the photo previously stored (having it on our google drive or our local drive does not suffice) - but one needs to set up an account there with username, password and all that - ugh... need that like i need another hole in my head don’t know why they make it so difficult to do something very simple and commonplace - on another thread i wanted to show a picture of my setup, as another user was asking how my speakers were placed... a picture posted would have been self explanatory... |

thank for trying to help... i just did the copy and paste thing for an image on the prior post just below/above... but when i tried to paste in the copied image after my typed text, i got a little tiny dot... then it disappeared totally when i hit ’post’ 😣 otoh, i can see if there a pic on a webpage, i can copy the link to that webpage, then put in the pic button’s ’url’ space, then the site will pull in that picture... https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/649809002-dcs-vivaldi-upsampler-and-clock/images/3613879/ |
For image posting you need an address of the image to copy and that means going to a site that has a URL address. Using your own photos on your desktop or hard drive won't work. I use imgpile to hold/store my pictures, photos and what have you, using their image address. The site is free and easy enough to figure out. Once there, all you need to do is right click the image, select copy image address, and use that URL to post to the image icon (URL address) from above. After that, you can fiddle with the size until you're satisfied and then post. All the best, |
hey it worked!!!! yippee!!! -- seems like for some reason the chromebooks’ copy/paste to/from clipboard function doesn’t get along with a-gon... hmmmmm no idea why... i do the exact same thing on my chromebook, and it does not work, but i do it with my windows 10 laptop and it is fine, the picture uploads and shows just fine okee dokee... many thanks all who chipped in help 🍻 |
If anyone can figure out why, with my Mac, when I post something from YouTube, it shows the proper size when previewed, but when I hit "post", the screen goes blank (white) and I have to refresh it only to have the video shrunk down in size, every single time. I know to use the "source" on the upper right and to use "share" and "embed" and "copy" on YT's site but aside from that, nothing seems to work right. Thanks in advance, if anyone knows, and, |
Just upload your jpgs to https://imgbox.com/
