DH Labs

Hi Just curious if anyone here has compared DH Labs cables to Nordost like in the Frey and Tyre lines , and how they liked or didn't like them. Thanks

If you can make your own I really like the OEM pure silver cables from Parts Connexion.  Otherwise I use Mogami in assemblies by World's Best.

What both share is completely not there.  No colorations or loss of any kind.  Sorry I haven't heard Nordost in forever.

I’ve not heard DH Labs signal or power cords in a while. I did have their AES/EBU, SPDIF Coax and USB digital cables. I thought they were excellent value.
I use Nordost Heimdall 2 power cords on streamer and Frey 2 power cords on DAC and integrated amp. DAC drives the amp via Nordost Tyr 2 XLRs in my system. Well balanced cables with natural tone that don’t emphasize any particular frequency. Very transparent. I have compared these cables to similarly priced Kimber, Audioquest, Acoustic Zen, Analysis Plus and several others.
Now what does this tell you? Just that I like them in my system in my room. How these will compare to DH Labs only you can tell when you do the A/B testing in your system. That’s the only way to find out.

DH Labs is having their 20% off sale until Saturday (excludes D-110 Silver Reference and only applies to orders over $100.00). They have a return policy as well.

Like mentioned, you won't know until you try.

All the best,
Nonoise

I really like DH Labs.  I also have Nordost Blue Heaven.    The Blue Heaven are good , the DH Air Matrix Cryo are better shielded and have better plugs.   Which sound better?   I don't think either have a signature just good well balanced cables.

I think DH is a good value, I'm thinking of getting some speaker cable with their 20% off sale.

DH Labs also has a Cyber Monday DIY sale, 25% off bulk cable and connectors.

I too would like to know about Nordost.  I don't know why, my Q10s are doing good but I have a hankering to try some Red Dawn or similar.  Both of course are silver plated copper.

IF this helps, the Q10s can hold it's own against Acoustic Zen Satori.

I have nothing against the various companies mentioned above. I just want to let you guys know of a giant killer new company out there by the name of Veritas Cables, their website is under construction and the only availably I know of is to phone them directly or find their ad on USAM. There is at least one write up in the Audiogon Forum: https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/veritas-cables-a-new-brand-that-i-found

I am not affiliated with any company in any way, just a very satisfied customer, that wants to pass along a good thing while their sale is still in progress.

I use DH Labs bulk AC Power cable to make my own.  I've compared them to many cables costing up to $500-$600 and have always thought they sounded better, for much less money.  YMMV.

@tubeguy76...I have all three.  The Red Wave only on my big Pass Labs amps.  Unless you have some massive current capability gear, (like the Pass amps) this is overkill.  I also have several of the Power Plus and Encore.  I really don't hear a big difference between these two.  I think the Encore is the best buy of the bunch.

@tubeguy76...Monosaudio Pure Copper unplated. I’ve tried their silver, gold, rhodium plated and the Pure Copper sounds very, very nice! I sure liked them better.

I have also tried some of the really expensive plugs from other companies and found them to be a big waste of money. The Monosaudio are GREAT and very affordably priced.

I even saved enough to make them pretty with Techflex, but you can leave them plain.

I have used DH Labs in a couple of systems and I look for a cable that does no harm. DH, Analysis Plus, LessLoss and Nordost, Purist Audio Design all are excellent neutral IC's

I have the Silver Sonic Mirage USB and I have compared it with several other brands with prices up to $800 and it sounded as good or better than all three others I’ve tried. The last trial was with a Clarus Crimson ($725) and after seven weeks I returned it.

All the best.

I use their Ethernet cables in my system. I noticed a significant improvement in streaming quality over standard Ethernet cables. Very fairly priced- great value.

With exception of power cables all my cables are DH Labs

Speaker Q10

Air Matrix XLR Interconnects

XLR Digital Cable

Reunion Ethernet Cable

and just ordered the D750 Digital BNC for my Clock Cable upgrade from Blue Jeans

Clean, clear, balanced sound at a reasonable price  I’ve compared to more expensive Shunyata and prefer DH

Thanks for posting that link Erik. I built new ic's using that cable and xlr connectors from DH Labs. That cable is also made by DH Labs. The new ic's replaced DH Labs "Silver Sonic Pro Studio Interconnect" which I liked very much. I'm pretty sure this my final set of ic's. This is not an easy project if you're not experienced with stripping and soldering small wires. Just thought I'd throw that in there so that you're forewarned.

@evelyn1 - Yes, I should have mentioned that these are unbranded DH labs cables. Extremely good IC’s though the single wire construction makes them a little brittle. Definitely not for professional use.

Neutrik has silver XLR connectors I have used.  Really can't say enough good about those cables.

I "LIKE" the BL-ag more than the Pro Studio. I'm hearing more of the signal and listening at a lower volume level. Outright saying one thing is better than another is a very contentious thing here. YMMV. While I'm here, DH Labs is labeling this cable now.
