Chronos tweak at Axpona

I was passing by this room promoting Chronos tweak , the sound seems so good and  huge . I like what heard, I was shocked to see the speaker were so small. As I listen I started liking the music more coming from the speakers. The price on this tweak is $2500, which I think is very expensive. The technology according to the Taiwanese doing the demo has something to do with resonance , vibration , space correction thing ? Iam not sure. But it did sound good with Chronos. It got me interested the next day I brought my wife with me.and my own cd to play . She like it for $1500 she will let me have it.But we never negotiate. Because I feel the tweak is so new. Let me ask someone here who attented Axpona and happen to listen to Chronos tweak. I willl really appreciate your experience and share it here.

Without the  Chronos the sound is not as involving and focus. I also think the sound stage is collapsing. The layering also suffer. Vocal is not as good either.palpability is also not there.

Can you give a link? Not sure what this is? Room acoustics tweak or a filter or what…..Thanks

In the beginning I ask myself will the $2500 cable do what this chronos does ? My steer is no. It lower the noise of the system , the layering becomes more holographic, and the vocal is more focus. My wife said the music becomes more involving, according to my wife the music becomes more effortless .When I got home she was a bit disappointed I did not get it.

Uh boy, another audio show "thingie"...

If the OP AND his wife heard improvement, fine. But anyone who's been to shows have said the same thing about countless thingies doing the same thing over and over again.

I'll blow my money on room, gear and speakers.

(Not saying that the device doesn't work, etc.) But I find it interesting when you go to a company's web site, you see a slick set of background pictures, quotes, and general statements about their product, but you never even see the actual product, or any explanation of what it is or how it works,. Even the product manual doesn't say much of anything.

I final found a couple of pictures of this device, but the text was all in Chinese.  Makes me just shake my head and wonder...

Keswitzer if you are asking where it will be connected in the system? You don’t need to connect it to the system , you can put it anywhere inside the room. No power no batteries. You can bring it to your car and place it to the passenger seat or cup holder. They demo guy said you can use it on concerts.

My only hope if they got distributor here in the US they will tell them it’s overpriced. For the price of $1000 maybe I’ll buy. For $500 I won’t even think about it. I will grab one.

The question still exists.... What do the thing actually do?   It says you can put it in a different room and it will do... something...???   but don't put it close to a computer or device that has to read/write to storage medium because it will cause a problem...  what the...???

@jeffbij  NAILED IT!!  I have yet to see a single photo or video of the actual product, being used, a measurement, anything OTHER than platitudes and bloviating marketing speak.

Amtprod I don’t know if you will ever see measurements. Or video ?.For $2500 you are entitled to get more info.

Here is a link to a picture that I found on their Facebook page.  It looks to be some kind of USB device (the square thing it is plugged into is a portable battery pack).

Looks to me like just another gadget for people with too much money to waste their money on.

Jeff there is an English version , on you tube . The review is exactly the same of my experience. The early version of this chronos optimizer are connected to the USB port. The new version are not to be connected. I don’t know how to link it to this site.

Jeff trust me it works but it’s too expensive.I wish they will price it $500.

@jayctoy

Not doubting you heard something in that room, but maybe they were just running those little speakers through BACCH.

@jayctoy

I'm not doubting you either, it is just the lack of information, explanation and science from the manufacturer is what is throwing up the red flags and doubts.

Oh, BTW, I did search youtube for Nirvana Audio Chronos and found 4 videos.  3 were in Chinese.  The forth was a before/after music only, which isn't reliablable.  (Sounds like it was recorded by a cell phone.)   If you could post the link to the video you found, it would be great.  All you have to do is play the video, copy the link in the address bar of the browser, and then post it here.

I listened to the demonstration twice at Axpona. I'm not sure the science behind it but I heard a difference. Those two little USB sticks made the sound fuller and more engaging. But $2500 each is insane. Honestly ,if you talk with Krissy at Heartsound Audio she has many products that achieve the same result for far less money. I don't work for her but just enjoy her products.

Jack I talked to Kristy from Heartsound very nice person to talk to.Lets see if the Holostage does the same effect like the Chronos.

I heard the Chronos demonstration early on Saturday at Axpona. It was so impressive I revisited the room again on Sunday afternoon. I attend a lot of shows and it is rare that I revisit a room unless it is exceptional. I've learned to trust my ears over the past 30 years of indulging in this hobby. Everything the OP experienced is correct. The Chronos has a much more impressive effect (though not the same) as the BAACH system. It is not subtle. $2500 is a serious chunk of change, but it is far less than buying a VAC Master preamp and monoblocks to drive an Acora speaker to maybe achieve the same results. I offered to buy the show samples, but they had already been promised to a reviewer, so I guess we can all stay tuned for that.

Longplayer, Iam also interested in buying one of the demo piece with discount. Because my wife who is always hard to convinces but not with the Chronos. I heard them Friday back Saturday to play my one cd by Neil Lofgren. Sunday I decided they will not give me discount. But really I like the tweak but not for $2500. I totally agree with you even a good preamp won’t be able to do this tweak does.

Let see what this Holostage by Heartsound does. See if the can match the Chronos or even surpass it.$999 much cheaper. They are supposed to be able to equal what Chronos does.

Jeff when Chronos are used they produce just about the right holographic sound on the recording, more air, more quiet , less noise floor, more focus on vocal and instrument. It just makes the music sound effortlessl.

Still confused how you use them? Just place in the room? Plug into a usb digital device?

Bill the Chronos don’t have batteries, nothing to connect, they are like usb stick , they just need to be inside room. In the demonstration they are  near the component s.They don’t need power to work.

Hey what about Synergistic Research's Electronic Circuit Transducers? They too don't need power to work.

Not only do they transform ordinary electronics to the extraordinary, but they also look pretty, like tea lights floating weightlessly on lotus leaves 😍

Understand, I'm not questioning that the Chronos device has an effect on the sound.  What I'm still wondering is how they do it.  What is the science behind them?

Jeff I think you need to talk to Krissy from Hearttsound audio. When Iam listening to the guy doing the demo? He said it’s a space, resonance, vibration correction. I think it’s more than that.Krissy might be able to share a glimpse of how they work. She is very smart, plus she is doing tweak same principle as the Chronos.

One thing Iam sure is that they lower the noise floor to the point where you can hear clearer and it became effortless to listen to the music.i intentionally brought a cd that is a bit noisy. And to my surprise it did eliminate the noise about 90% . The sound remain natural as well.

I couldn’t hear the difference, then again I’m not claiming golden ears.

Kennyc the demo music they are playing, you need to have good listening skills to appreciate it. Why I brought my own cd that I am very familiar with. One is Neal Lofgren cd, One is Verdi classical music.

Ok like I said Krissy from Haartsound will send me the holostage tweak. Well I received them yesterday. Iam listening to them now. Will update as soon as I can ?

Long player if you really like what you heard on the Chronos , Ask Krissy for auditions of the holostage tweak.

Longplayer my initial listening, I was in a big surprise? On what they did for 2 hrs listening. I will let my wife to listen to them.

Since there is already thread about this tweak here at Audiogon, titled Holy Holostage. And it’s the same result I have experienced. My simple conclusion is it’s hard for me to listen without them.Thank you all .I think Krissy will get my $999 very soon.

Grannyring I will be interested what you think If ever you audition them? I do have high regard on your listening skills and your passion in this hobby.
