"Cleaning" Vinyl Makes It Worse Not Better!
@oldaudiophile It was a simple question; Has anyone tried Mofi's Ultra Record Wash concentrate for ultrasonic cleaning machines?  In stead, outside of other methods of cleaning. you recommend mixing/making my own.  When I asked you how to make my ...

@oldaudiophile "Yes, I know what you mean.  The little bottle you're talking about is Mofi's Ultra Record Wash concentrate for ultrasonic cleaning machines.  Again, you can make your own for a fraction of the cost." Okay, can you tell me how to m...
"Cleaning" Vinyl Makes It Worse Not Better!
@impaler Apparently you didn’t watch the video and you completely missed my point. Take care.   And your question about some sort of release agent on records during manufacture, I once had a Ultra one step pressing that had a ring of a grease lik...

@moonwatcher "I think vacuum cleaning done right can get you about 80% of the way to Degritter sound quality"   I don't think so.   I think the improvement more than that plus the utter ease of use.  You can be doing other things while cleaning r...
"Cleaning" Vinyl Makes It Worse Not Better!
@oldaudiophile  Yeah, that's not what I'm talking about. The newest product is sold in 1 oz bottles at twenty-five bucks a crack and you mix it with 3-4 liters of H2O, designed specifically for cavitation machines like the Degritter.
What is the first thing you do when you unwrap a new vinyl record?
Clean it.

Anyone try the Mobile Fidelity Ultra Record Wash, 1oz bottle, for ultrasonic machines?
Canare 4S11"G" now available!
@roxy54 "I guess it never ends. Oxygen free, then why not OCC, and while they’re at it, could they make the insulation PTFE?" Actually this cable has a better insulator, polyethylene, than PTFE, polytetrafluoroethylene, with a lower dielectri...
Speaker cables with good timbre
I was not aware that timbre could be adjusted by speaker cable. I have about five different speaker cables but see no point discussing them since I would have no idea how they would affect timbre.  You can try an affordable cable like Canare 4S11G...
Drinking Songs playlest... What am I missing?
immatthewj  'I would probably put  almost anything by Shane MacGowan as a good song to get loaded while listening to'.   Now that was a man in need of a dentist but death got him first.
Drinking Songs playlest... What am I missing?
Here are two German beer drinking songs embedded to two German/Swiss musical beer steins with musical movements.  Notice something about the movements?  https://i.imgur.com/8QwdnLA.jpg https://i.imgur.com/IPAE2Uw.jpg  https://i.imgur.com/vOEij...
Budget integrated amp?
Musical Fidelity A1 integrated amplifier.  Retains the original esthetic and wonderfully musical without the overheating issues the original had at a price below the inflation rate with what the original went for.
Thoughts on the new pressing of "Bookends" lp from MFSL
@slaw "The siblance on "s"s, seems more pronounced/noticeable."  I always thought that DSD kind of softens the upper frequencies, not make them more pronounced.
The Allure of Vintage Audio Gear
There's vintage audio, then there's vintage audio.  While seventies receivers seem all the rage, there are also many great antiques out there.  Take a pair of Quad 57's and  Quad II amps or Futterman OTL's from the fifties, with some simple mods o...
Bookshelf speaker recommendations
How about ATC SCM 11s. A sealed design with fantastic dynamics. Even the smaller SCM 7s might work.
